The Quest for Immortality

Mo Hua was deeply moved in his heart.

At the same time, his emotions were somewhat complex.

He was a Formation Master, but so far, he hadn’t learned ”Formation Flow” yet, instead, he had first learned ”Sword Flow.”

It was somewhat like ”doing things backwards.”

”Then what is the relationship between this Sword Flow and the ’God Slaying Technique’?” Mo Hua asked.

Patriarch Dugu asked, ”You walk the path of Divine Sense Proving the Dao, so you should know about evil spirits and ghosts, but do you know about ’deities’?”

Mo Hua nodded slowly.

He was very familiar with deities.

To count them, he had several ”friends” who were deities:

An ”old friend,” Lord Yellow Mountain, a young friend, Little Silver Fish, and a ”bad friend,” the Great Wilderness Evil God.

Now, the evil embryo of that bad friend was parasitic in his Life Soul.

Patriarch Dugu had no idea that Mo Hua’s network with deities was so extensive. .

He simply nodded slightly and said:

”As long as you understand, there’s no need for me to explain further. In this world, the objects of Divine Thought, evil spirits and specters, are numerous, and above the evil spirits, there are even higher existences, such as deities of heaven and earth, instances of deities falling into evil, ancient Taoist meanings, and domains...”

Patriarch Dugu paused, didn’t continue, and after a moment of silence, continued:

”Demon monsters, ghosts, and specters disturb human minds and consume people’s Divine Sense.”

”Such evil spirits are formed by Thought, and blood qi and spiritual power cannot harm them in the slightest.”

”Cultivating Divine Thought into sword can cut them down.”

”But above the evil spirits are heavens and deities. Deities can also degenerate, leaving harm in the human world.”

”Humans can slay demons, slay evil, slay ghosts... but can they kill deities?”

Patriarch Dugu looked at Mo Hua.

Mo Hua hesitated and said, ”They should... be able to slay them, right?”

Patriarch Dugu shook his head and said, ”Humans are humans, and gods are gods. The power of human Divine Thought cannot slay deities.”

Mo Hua was stunned.

He pondered for a while and felt something was wrong.

If the power of human Divine Thought cannot slay deities, then how did Lord Yellow Mountain get slain?

If that’s really the case, then aren’t the Evil Gods in the world invincible?

No matter how much they harm the human world, cultivators would be unable to resist.

The patriarch couldn’t possibly not know this...

Mo Hua pondered Patriarch Dugu’s words again and slowly said:

”The power of human Divine Thought cannot slay deities, so... one needs to use certain spells to surpass the limits of ’humans,’ and thus... be able to slay deities?” ꭆ𝙖Νȱ฿Êʂ

Patriarch Dugu raised his eyebrows, took a deep look at Mo Hua, and nodded:

”Exactly!”

”Humans are humans, gods are gods; the Divine Thought between them has a vast difference.”

”But a gentleman’s nature is not different; good is in using things well.”

”Since humans cannot slay gods, then go and learn, comprehend, borrow the Dao of heaven and earth, borrow the laws of all things, create a spell to change one’s Divine Thought, and slay deities!”

”This is the God Slaying Technique!”

Patriarch Dugu’s tone was sonorous.

Mo Hua silently contemplated.

Deities are blessed, born with the Dao.

Cultivators, however, are innately lacking, but through acquired learning of the Dao, enlightenment, and borrowing the Dao, they are capable of slaying deities.

In a sense, this is truly using the weak to overcome the strong, humans slaying gods, humans triumphing over heaven...

Mo Hua’s mind was shaken.

But how exactly to ”enlighten and slay gods,” Mo Hua was still somewhat confused.

Comprehend the Tai Xu Sword Flow, borrow the Origin Sword Dao, to slay fallen deities?

How to comprehend? How to borrow?

Seeing this, Patriarch Dugu said, ”Do you remember the secret I told you about cultivating the Godslaying Sword?”

Mo Hua nodded, ”Refining spirits with the sword, slashing one’s Life Soul.”

”These eight words are the key.” Patriarch Dugu said, ”The power of human Divine Thought cannot slay gods, so one must ’borrow,’ ’borrow’ the Dao Laws, ’borrow’ the powerful Origin Power.”

”But the origin of Sword Dao is supremely profound, it is not something that just exists at once.”

”The ’Sword Flow’ of Taixu Gate uses a fragment of Taoist meaning within the ancient Divine Sword as the foundation. After generations of cultivators infusing Sword Dao insights, they finally nurtured the Sword Dao Origin with the ’power to slay deities!”

”With this Origin, the divine way sword cultivators of Taixu Gate can ’borrow’ the Origin Sword Dao to slay some deities whom human power originally couldn’t harm in the slightest.”

”And the form in which this Origin is presented is the Tai Xu Sword Flow.”

”Taixu Gate’s cultivators comprehend the Tai Xu Sword Flow, borrow the Sword Dao Origin, and refine their Divine Souls, this is called ’refining spirits with the sword’...”

Mo Hua suddenly understood and nodded, then asked, ”What about slashing one’s Life Soul?”

Patriarch Dugu asked, ”Have you comprehended anything about the Tai Xu Sword Flow?”

Mo Hua was somewhat embarrassed, ”No...”

He had only sensed a trace of ancient Sword Intent. If the patriarch hadn’t mentioned it, he wouldn’t have realized that this was the sword Dao’s origin stream at all.

And he had comprehended for a long time, actually without understanding any Sword Dao.

”It’s not your fault...” Patriarch Dugu sighed, ”Don’t say it’s you; even when I was your age, or even when I reached the Golden Core Realm, I couldn’t comprehend it.”

”It’s not just that I couldn’t comprehend it, rather I couldn’t understand it at all...”

Patriarch Dugu remarked with emotion, ”This is the ancient Sword Flow of Taixu Gate, the sword Dao Origin that is close to the Dao...”

”The creation and nurturing of this Origin are at least by ancestors of Taixu Gate’s past who were above the Heaven Void Realm.”

”With such profound Sword Dao, how could ordinary disciples possibly learn it?”

”Even a Sword Dao genius, if young, without enough time invested in Sword Dao, low realm, and limited perspective, it is fundamentally impossible to grasp the true Sword Flow’s mystical meaning.”

”A heritage, if all disciples under it can’t learn it, and only those with the foundation of Feather Transformation or Heaven Void can understand it, no matter how exquisite, no matter how powerful, will eventually be lost.”

”Thus, the predecessors of Taixu Gate pioneered an alternative solution, thinking of a method akin to ’cheating’... slashing one’s Life Soul!”
