The Quest for Immortality

Ancestor, why are you still gloating?

Elder Master Xun pondered and said, ”I thought they would suffer, but I didn’t expect it to be this bad. In this case, things will be easier to handle...”

”These two, they’re quite stubborn. As long as they can breathe, they’re not easy to deal with.”

The Taixu Sect Master contemplated for a moment, his heart suddenly jumping, ”Ancestor, you wouldn’t...”

Elder Master Xun shook his head, ”Let’s observe the situation first, don’t speak of it yet.”

The Taixu Sect Master could only nod, and then couldn’t help but admire; the Ancestor truly deserves the title, not only far-sighted and deeply scheming, but also unimaginably bold...

Of course, this matter isn’t that simple either.

There are tremendous obstacles from all sides, and much planning is needed.

Elder Master Xun furrowed his brows in thought for a moment, looked up, and seeing the Taixu Sect Master still there, asked, ”Is there anything else?”

The Taixu Sect Master nodded, ”It’s about Mo Hua.”

”Mo Hua? What’s going on with him?” Elder Master Xun’s expression turned serious.

The Taixu Sect Master was silent for a moment, then asked, ”Ancestor, do you know how many merit points the child has now?”

Elder Master Xun was taken aback, ”How many? Tens of thousands?”

”Four hundred eighty-six thousand nine hundred and twelve...”

The Taixu Sect Master reported an extremely staggering number.

Elder Master Xun was also shocked, ”How many? Four hundred eighty thousand? How can it be that much?”

The Taixu Sect Master said bitterly, ”Previously, I promised that if he achieved a ranking in the Dao Discussion Conference, he would receive a fourfold merit reward.”

”At that time, Taixu Gate was on the brink, and we had to go all out. But I didn’t expect this child Mo Hua to suddenly emerge and achieve a first place that shocked the world...” ꞦÀＮộꞖʧ

”The merit for leading the Dao Discussion is already extremely abundant. With it multiplied by four, and considering he already had quite a lot of merit, this totals to a frightening amount...”

When he went to check the merit, seeing Mo Hua’s number almost made him think he was seeing things.

Which sect disciple, at only the Foundation Building Middle Stage, could earn four hundred eighty thousand merit?

Four hundred eighty thousand...

The Taixu Sect Master muttered, ”Based on his current merit, if he saved up for another one or two years, he could directly enter the Inner Gate and become an ’Elder’ before graduating.”

Even Elder Master Xun took a deep breath.

His thoughts had been entirely on formations, completely forgetting the balance of ”merit points.”

Without noticing, he gave too much to this child.

The key issue was, it couldn’t be taken back.

What Ancestor would deduct their own disciple’s merit points?

Elder Master Xun pondered for a moment and said slowly, ”It’s okay, just don’t show it to him.”

The Taixu Sect Master was startled, ”Don’t show it to him?”

The Taixu Token was in his hand, how could he not show it?

Elder Master Xun said, ”Don’t display that many, hide several digits, show only up to ninety-nine thousand nine hundred ninety-nine.”

”Don’t deduct it, just don’t show it to him. If he asks, just say his merit points exceed the sect’s limit, and don’t tell him the exact amount.”

”Say some good words, praise him a bit. Once he’s happy, he surely won’t dig deeper.”

”After all, he always has plenty of merit, and he can’t use it all up, so he won’t be troubled.”

The Taixu Sect Master nodded blankly, still feeling a little uneasy, ”Is this... really going to work?”

”Don’t worry.” Elder Master Xun said.

As if he wouldn’t know Mo Hua’s disposition.

Besides, this wasn’t a bad thing.

They weren’t cutting his merit, just not telling him temporarily, to prevent pride and negligence from having too much merit.

The Taixu Sect Master nodded.

Though he felt somewhat complicated inside.

Both an Ancestor and a Sect Master, teaming up to deceive this Junior Disciple Mo Hua, somehow felt a bit wrong...

...

In the Disciple’s Residence.

Mo Hua also frowned.

He had a vague premonition:

”Is someone scheming against me?”

But after pondering for a moment, he didn’t sense any malice, nor did it seem dangerous, so he didn’t mind. .

The main thing was, during this period, his premonitions in Cause and Effect were frequently stirred.

As if many people were secretly plotting against him.

He even sensed a mysterious ”grandfather” with an untraceable aura and fearful cause and effect, looking at him with interest.

Of course, this premonition only lasted for an instant before vanishing.

After that, nothing else happened.

Over time, Mo Hua didn’t pay much attention.

But because there were so many who peeked at him, Mo Hua inevitably became vigilant.

So during this period, he strictly followed Elder Master Xun’s instructions, staying in Taixu Gate, calmly cultivating and studying formations, without going anywhere.

At the moment, he was writing a letter.

This letter was intended for Elder Zheng.

Elder Zheng had asked Zheng Fang to convey a message to Mo Hua, saying his Cloud Ferry was delayed, and he might have to stay in the Qian Learning State Boundary for a few more months.

In terms of formations, if Mo Hua had any questions or things he wanted to learn, he could approach him.

Mo Hua was overjoyed.

But he couldn’t leave or visit Elder Zheng to ask in person, so he could only write a letter, noting his doubts about ”Original Magnet,” or the orthodox ”Thunder Magnetism” formations, and ask Elder Zheng for guidance.

A renowned teacher doesn’t come by often.

Having a teacher willing to teach you is even more precious.

Mo Hua cherished this opportunity greatly.

After finishing the letter, Mo Hua handed it to Zheng Fang, asking him to pass it on to Elder Zheng.

Afterward, he attended class as usual.

Every Taixu Sect Disciple he encountered on the way, upon seeing Mo Hua, was both surprised and delighted, some calling him ”Junior Brother,” others ”Junior Brother Mo,” greeting him one after another.

Now the entire Taixu Gate, from top to bottom, truly had almost no one who didn’t recognize Mo Hua.
