THE GOD EATER

But times have changed, and so has the situation with him. He is no longer carrying a single rank 3 Life Ability after awakening.

He can feel a string of force pulling and elevating the state of hid existence from the ground towards something far up in the sky. So what he has now is a rank 5 Life Ability and a Level 3 Dao Status.

This made him feel confident about his chances. It is why he didn’t falter despite the look of condescension that Slav was giving him. He continued towards Slav undaunted.

By this time, the two guns on his shoulders have formed. This time, he formed Gatling guns, not rail guns. This is because they have a higher fire rate, and he was sure that he would need the fire rate over the high penetrative power of the armor-piercing rounds of the rail guns.

So he let the two Gatling guns on his shoulders rip. Their barrels rotated as bullets poured out of them at a rate of 6,000 rounds per minute. It was truly a downpour of bullets.

He meant to submerge Slav in the hail of bullets and use them to tear him apart. But Slav disappeared from his vision and avoided all of the gunfire.

Before he could react, Slav had already appeared behind him. He was standing inches behind Loki with his hand almost touching Loki’s back.

Slav also had his hand pressed forward like a knife. Wherever his hand passed, space was torn apart.

Without looking at it, Fenrir was able to sense that this attack was formed with the aid of another Divine Metac called the Space Tear Metac.

This made him ask himself in confusion, “When did he get another Divine Metac?”

Thanks to the tracking mark, he knew that Slav was right behind him. But the confusion caused by the appearance of a completely new Divine Metac, coupled with Slav’s fast actions, meant that he couldn’t react to the attack.

Slav’s hand cut through his armor and stabbed him in the back. Then Slav’s hand cut his heart and broke out of his chest.

He heard Slav say behind him, “What a joke! You must be out of your mind to think that you could take me.”

That was the last thing that he heard before his vision went dark and his consciousness detached from Slav. Then he began another trip with Fenrir into the past.

He had just been killed, and it was easy too, but he wasn’t downcast at all. His current mood was directly opposite of downcast.

His eyes were shining as he said, “Two Divine Metacs! Who would have thought that Slav was such a goldmine?”

He has to admit that Slav is very dangerous, but instead of giving up, his determination to kill Slav was roused. He became full of anticipation and couldn’t wait to fight Slav again.

When he awakened in the physical world again, his eyes were still shining. He said to himself, “Another round.”

Then he took a step towards Slav.

He did everything he did in the last timeline up to the point when Slav disappeared. Just like before, Slav was too fast for him to keep track of. If not for the fact that he already expected Slav to stab him in the back, he would have surely been killed by this attack.

Since he knew that Slav was going to attack from behind him, he already planned for it. He had already created whips but had made them remain coiled around his back.

So when Slav suddenly disappeared from his vision and appeared behind him, he let the whips uncoil. The whips shot forward like wounded springs. Slav was immediately caught offguard by the attack.

There were ten whips in total behind him. He had this much this time around because he was controlling fewer Metacs and had more mental power to control them.

The ten of them snapped at Slav, trying to cut and bind him. Slav had to use his knife hand, which he had prepared for Loki’s back, to cut off the whips.

But the whips were too many for him to cut off in a short time. The whips were also capable of regenerating. So instead of fighting with them, he chose to back off.

Slav used Space Blink again and disappeared from his position. This helped him to avoid the ten black whips completely, but it did nothing to avoid the activation of the Siphon Ability.

Just as Slav moved away, one of the Gatling guns turned to him. It started to pour bullets at him again, so Slav had to use the Space Blink Metac again.

Unfortunately for him, wherever he blinked, the Gatling guns were able to catch up to him. So he had to keep jumping about again and again.

At any other time, Loki would be happy that he was draining the enemy’s energy and would be waiting for them to run out of energy so that he could take them down.

But he couldn’t be expectant this time around because he could sense that Slav seemed to possess an ocean of energy. He could sense this ocean of energy through the Siphon Ability.

He could also sense that the energy that he was stealing from Slav and the amount of energy that Slav was using was as small as a drop of water in an ocean compared to the amount of energy that Slav seemed to possess.

This confused him again, but it also made him realize that he couldn’t wait for Slav to run out of energy. Thanks to the Siphon Ability, he too was unlikely to run out of energy despite the amount of energy that the two Gatling guns were consuming, but he wasn’t happy about this.

Just as he was thinking of what to do, Slav activated a third Divine Metac. This one was the Space Freeze Metac. It froze everyone in place.
