The Genius Evolution Store

Auric saw the accumulated energy on his head. This accumulated energy behaved in a manner he had never seen before.

All of a sudden, the accumulated energy broke apart and flooded his head with so much energy that it was no wonder Timothy claimed he couldn’t breathe.

The accumulated energy was condensed, which made it look small on the surface, but it overwhelmed everything after it broke apart.

However, there was one thing he noticed. The energy remained on his head. It might be because his neck was acting like a channel, but the energy in his head couldn’t flow down his body. Instead, it was being overwhelmed by the energy coming from his heart.

This was something he had never seen before.

Still, the first thing he did was create a wall to block the energy from entering or leaving his head. He used the same technique that allowed him to block the flow of energy coming from the ground when he was in the ruins.

Then, he applied the chaos energy to break down the energy and started expelling it.

Katarina was struggling to restrain him, but it looked like the treatment was effective.

Timothy gradually moved less, not because he started losing his consciousness, but because he could breathe.

Auric wasn’t lying when he told him he could treat the symptom.

Timothy became even more determined. He tried to gather as much air as possible, making sure that he could maintain his consciousness.

He didn’t want to pass out because he wanted to see what would happen to him after the treatment. He wanted to see it right away.

Timothy gritted his teeth and glared at Katarina, showing his determination.

Auric smiled and continued treating him.

Gradually, Timothy regained his breath. This was the first time he managed to stay awake after having an episode. More importantly, he stayed awake not because he could endure the pain, but because the symptom had stopped.

His head became clearer to the point where he wondered if this was actually just a dream.

However, the treatment continued until Auric got rid of all the accumulated energy in his head.

It took him an agonizing fifteen minutes, as each minute gave him so much pain that it felt like an hour.

Fortunately, he managed to hold on.

”Haa... Ha...” Timothy breathed heavily, but his expression was filled with shock.

Timothy looked at Auric and grabbed his arms in disbelief, shaking him. ”It worked. It worked! It workedddddd!”

Timothy was jumping like a child. The pure smile on his face reflected his sincere happiness.

Auric nodded with a serious expression. ”Well, it indeed works.”

Timothy started to move around to check whether he was really fine. ”This feels refreshing. It’s been so long since I last had such a clear head at night.”

Despite his big smile, tears began to flow from his eyes.

”Ah... This...” Timothy wiped his tears, but they refused to stop flowing. ”I’m sorry. This is weird. I really can’t stop my tears.”

All this time, he had been suffering from a condition no one could understand. He was afraid of ruining everything, but at the same time, he realized he had ruined a lot of things.

He wanted to make things right all this time, but he never had the opportunity. There was always a thought that haunted him every night.

What if he ended up harming the people around him when he was having an episode? What if the next time he came to his senses, he had killed everyone?

There was a time when he wanted to give up, as the pain was truly unbearable. He just wanted to knock himself out before he had an episode.

That was why this opportunity felt like a godsend to him.

Timothy hugged Auric tightly and said, ”Thank you... Thank you so much!”

”You’re welcome.” Auric couldn’t imagine his pain, but he could understand his feelings. He patted Timothy’s back gently.

Katarina was just smiling on the side. It looked like her job was done. She was glad that everything worked out just fine.

It took Timothy a few minutes to finally calm down.

Katarina had brought him a water bottle.

”Thanks.” Timothy received it with a smile.

”Have you calmed down?” Auric asked.

”Yeah. Sorry for showing such a thing.”

”It’s okay. I want to talk a bit more about your condition. Is that all right?”

”Of course.” Timothy agreed without hesitation. Auric was the first person who could treat his condition, so he would gladly say anything about his condition.

Auric explained, ”All right. From my observation, you had accumulated energy in your head. That accumulated energy condensed and became denser. Eventually, it broke apart and started flooding into your head. That was how you drowned.

”If I had to describe it, it looked like the sea. When night fell, the sea would rise. When the sun rose, the sea level would go down.”

”I see.” Timothy closed his eyes. ”So, that accumulated energy...”

”I have removed it.”

Timothy took a deep breath, feeling relieved.

”Still, it will accumulate again. From what I can see, the energy from your heart continuously flows to your head, where it will gradually accumulate.”

”Is there no way to solve it?”

”Currently, I see no options.” Auric shook his head. ”The only way I can think of is to completely stop the energy flow to your head, but... I don’t think that’s a solution.”

There was no telling whether Auric was telling the truth or not. In fact, a lot of evolution masters would take advantage of this situation.

By telling him there was no cure, Auric could make Timothy depend on him all the time. As a result, Auric could make one demand after another.

However, Auric wasn’t that kind of person.

Auric explained, ”I will try to monitor your condition, but for now, everything I’ve told you should still be applicable. For now, I will check how much energy accumulates in your head during the closing banquet. Will that work for you?”

”Yes.” Timothy agreed. ”Once again, thank you.”

”You’re welcome. Now, you should maybe get a good night’s sleep after so long.” Auric smiled.

”Hahaha. You’re right.” Timothy laughed out loud while patting Auric’s shoulder before walking away.

”Well, it looks like we succeeded. The problem is whether he will fulfill his side of the bargain, but with you as the only one who can handle his treatment, I doubt he will choose to ignore it.” Katarina smiled, feeling satisfied.

”Yeah. Let’s go back.” Auric waved his hand.

...

As soon as the treatment was done, Timothy didn’t go back to sleep yet.

Instead, he called his father.

Timothy’s father was already asleep in his bedroom when the ringing of his phone awakened him.

”Ngghhh...” He let out a small groan and searched for the phone on the bedside table. He picked it up and answered the call while his eyes were still closed. With a sleepy voice, he asked, ”Do you know what time it is?”

”I’m sorry for waking you up, Dad. It’s just... I want to call you because of an important matter.”

”Important matter? What important matter?”

”Mhmm... Honey? What are you doing?” His wife couldn’t help but wake up as well.

”It’s nothing. Timothy is calling me about something. I will take care of it, so you can go back to sleep.”

”Y-Yeah... No, wait. Timothy?” His wife noticed something was wrong. The drowsiness immediately vanished.

”!!!” His father’s eyes widened as he realized what was happening. ”Wait, what? Timothy? Son?! You’re calling me right now, Son? Are you really my son?”

His father couldn’t believe it. This was the first time in a year and a half that he could hear his son’s voice this late.

”Yeah, Dad. It’s me.”

His father got up, while his mother rushed toward the phone, trying to listen as well.

”Wait. You okay?”

”I’m glad that I joined this training program. I have encountered a person who is able to treat my symptoms.” Timothy chuckled, listening to their shocked voices.

”What? Really? What is going on?”

”Well, do you mind if we talk a bit?”

”Of course. The night is still young.”

Timothy took a deep breath. ”You should already know about the ace of Esfrata, right?”

”Auric Elfe? That’s right. He helped you?”

Timothy paused for a moment before explaining the entire situation from the beginning. ”The situation in the training program doesn’t seem to be good. So, he approached me and helped me relieve my symptoms. Apparently, I should be able to maintain this for a few months.

”It’s just... he wants me to ally myself with Esfrata in the survival competition during the last week of the training program. That’s the price for treating my symptoms.”

His father fell silent for a moment. ”That’s not too much. We should be able to pay the price. Is that all?”

”The problem is that Vera Schneider and Ellia Stroph Astler from Esfrata will be competing with Clarice Estella. Because of their competition, the atmosphere might be pretty heated.”

”Ah! To be honest, allying with Esfrata doesn’t sound that bad. I’ve seen the fight. This Katarina...”

”Yes, she defeated me, but even that woman seems to be working for Auric Elfe. So, I’m thinking about asking Lady Merlin to use her influence so that Miss Arthur doesn’t cause a mess in this alliance.”

”I see. It’s actually not a big problem. If you want, I can visit Lady Merlin tomorrow.”

”If you can, that would be good.”

”Son... Can you...”

”Fully recovered? To be honest, even he is not sure about it, but he’s the first one to be able to see through my condition and treat the symptoms. There’s a chance for him to take advantage of it, but I think I just want to fall into his hand for a bit to see what I can do next. If it turns out he’s able to treat me but just wants to take advantage of me every six months, then we’ll think about it after that.”

”Okay.”

”For now, I just want to make sure I get treated properly.”

”Got it. In that case, I will visit Lady Merlin tomorrow and explain the situation to her.”

”Please ask her not to interfere with the situation. From the looks of it, Auric Elfe is a pretty chill guy. However, his motto is something like equivalent exchange. So, maybe if we pay the equivalent price, he will treat me fully. At the same time, if we provoke him, what happened to Dermania will happen to us as well.”

”Equivalent exchange, huh? All right, I understand.”

”Are you done? Hey, I also want to talk to my son! Give me the phone.”

”No, no. This is still official business. It will last for a whole night, so you should sleep. I will let you talk to him in the morning.”

”Official business, my ass!”

Timothy was just chuckling on the other end of the phone as he listened to his parents.

No one expected what happened the next day.

A video suddenly went viral.

It was a video of Katarina restraining Timothy while Auric was doing something to his head.
