Chapter 1545: Ancient Glorious City(16)

”Brother, who will save you now?” The second prince coldly commented, looking at his fourth brother lying in the pool of blood.

The fourth prince was in no condition to respond and looked at his brother with a pained face. He was taking his last breath, and not long after, his eyes dimmed down.

Hahaha!

The second prince suddenly erupted in wild laughter. With the death of the fourth prince, he no longer had any competitors left. His way to the throne was clear.

He then remembered Halie, who was locked in the prison. He couldnʼt help but hurry to prison since he had lustful feelings for her since he had seen her. It was just that he was too weak to act on those feelings.

Boom!

The second prince had only reached halfway distance to the prison when suddenly, a loud explosion shocked the area.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

In the next moment, several explosions happened all at once, shaking the royal palace.

The second prince coldly looked around, and soon after, Halie walked out of the dust cloud, followed by other prisoners and that intruder.

His face turned solemn since Halie and the prisoners released killing intent toward him. He didnʼt fear the prisoners or Halie since he had a Higher God level guard with him.

But when he looked to his left, his eyes shrank, and his face turned pale. The guard had a large hole in his chest, with his heart nowhere to be seen.

Crash!

The guard then crashed to the ground. The second prince immediately looked at Halie and was shocked by the staff in her hand.

”How dare you touch the Imperial Staff?” The second prince roared in anger since that staff could only be held or touched by the Emperor.

Several minutes ago,

After Aakesh informed the prisoners of the plan, they immediately acted and forced their way out of the prison.

There werenʼt that many guards outside the prison, so it was easy for them, and it happened without much sacrifice.

”Letʼs set the bombs. We will meet you in five minutes,” Halie coldly muttered and then left with Aakesh toward the direction of the Emperorʼs residence.

The Imperial Staff had been handed out to the royal family for numerous years, so whoever held it would become the Emperor. It also meant that the holder of the item would be attacked by every prince at once.

It resulted in no one trying to grab the Imperial Staff, and it was hidden in a safe location.

When Halie reached the residence, she was surrounded by a group of Higher Gods level guards who would kill her and Aakesh instantly if they tried to make any wrong movement.

”I want to use the promise given by the Emperor.” Halie suddenly pulled out a talisman from her inner world and showed it to the people.

The majesty of the Emperor oozed out of the talisman, so no one dared to consider it a false item. ”What do you want?” The leader of the group asked.

”I want to enter the residence with him and take the blessing of the Emperor for our union,” Halie responded with a shy face.

The group frowned since they couldnʼt allow anyone to enter the room. They couldnʼt let someone desecrate the corpse, but seeing that it was Hailey, one of the most trusted generals of the Emperor, they accepted.

The fact about the prince dying only a few hours ago didnʼt matter to the group since it was pretty common to have polyamory or polygamy. If the prince was alive then it would have caused a scene.

But before that, she and Aakesh needed to wear the bracelet given to them. It would lock down their cultivation and inner world, leaving them with only their physical strength.

Since the Emperor was a Supreme God, Halieʼs physical strength wouldnʼt even cause a scratch on the corpse.

The Imperial Staff couldnʼt leave the Emperorʼs residence before the selection of the next Emperor, and there Aakesh came to Halieʼs help.

Aakesh had the skill [Energy Overseer] that helped him locate different energies and distinguish between them. Since he had seen the aura of the Emperor through the talisman, it wasnʼt that difficult for him to find the staff.

As expected, after a few moments, Aakesh locked the location of the staff. It was locked inside a formation, but that formation could do nothing to stop him.

Aakesh easily found the formation eye, destroyed it, and revealed the hidden Imperial Staff.

With an excited expression, Halie walked to the Imperial Staff and picked it up. A heavy pressure suddenly emerged from the item, bending her down.

Halie persisted through the pressure, and soon, it had disappeared, accepting Halie as its next owner. A broad smile plastered across her face following that. With the staff, she had no enemy in the Empire.

The entire Empire was a formation, and the Imperial Staff controlled it, granting her enough strength to do whatever she wanted.

At the same time, the group outside sensed the disruption when Halie was accepted by the staff. They hurriedly rushed inside only to find Halie kneeling before the Emperorʼs corpse while the Imperial Staff was next to her.

Their faces turned pale, knowing what had transpired before them. Aakesh was also there in the room, but he had an indifferent expression. It was as if the man outside the store and the man inside the store were two different people.

With Halie getting the Imperial Staff, Aakesh no longer needed to act. He had done his part well, and now only the last phase was left before he completed the challenge and could leave that world.

Using the help of the staff, Halie killed the Higher God level guard of the second prince. She didnʼt need to since only showing the staff was more than enough for the guard to walk away, but since there couldnʼt be any better moment to show her prestige, she used that for her benefit.

”Die!”

Halie didnʼt waste any words and immediately activated the attacking ability of the staff, targeting the second prince.
