Chapter 1408 The Verdant Matron!

Chapter 1408: The Verdant Matron!

Tirly looked at the beast on the card with an astonished expression. It wasnʼt what she wanted in the first place, but there could be no other beast more suitable for her than the Verdant Matron.

The upper half of the card contained an illustration of the beast. Its appearance exuded an aura of natural splendor and vitality. The creatureʼs body was adorned with vibrant, intertwining vines and radiant blossoms, creating a harmonious blend of green and various blossoming flower hues. Its central body resembled a robust tree trunk, with bark-like patterns that seamlessly transitioned into cascading vines. The vines extended outward, forming a graceful and intricate network that weaved around the creature. Large, luminous flowers of different shapes and colors adorned its vines, casting a gentle glow that soaked the surroundings in a soft, ambient light.

Tirly stood there in ponderation for a while since it wasnʼt an easy decision. Even though the beast was suitable for her, her situation demanded a different creature. Her father was in the clutches of her clan, and she needed to save him.

After a long time of consideration, Tirly sighed and came to a decision. And once it was made, hints of determination appeared on her face.

She then left the queue and walked toward the device at the end of the room. Verdant Matron was her choice since she decided to trust in herself. She was already at the peak of Divine Transformation and on the verge of stepping into the Divine Being level.

It took some time for her to get her turn, and once she arrived in front of the device, she placed the card in the card compartment and her hands in the respective section.

The next moment, Tirly found herself in a different environment. She was in the midst of a garden filled with flowers that had already bloomed or were blooming at that moment. Her cultivation had also dropped to early Divine Transformation, matching the power level of the beast.

Tirly didnʼt feel shocked since she was aware of the phenomenon.

A trace of intoxication appeared in her eyes as she took a breath and smelled the beautiful scent permeating every inch of the garden.

Tirly didnʼt have to work hard to find her opponent as at the center of the garden stood the Verdant Matron, helping in the growth of the flowers.

The Verdant Matron stopped in its actions and stared at the intruder. These beasts were peaceful, but that was the condition as long as no one tried to step into their territory. The Verdant Matrons were immensely territorial since they considered every plant life in their territory to be their own.

Ding!

A bell that had no direction of origin suddenly rang in both their ears, announcing the start of the battle.

The Verdant Matron was waiting for that moment, so it immediately activated [Vine Whip]. The next moment, several of its wines were charged to Tirly.

Tirly found it difficult to dodge all of them, so she avoided those that could cause severe damage while trying to fight back with what she could.

Even though the Verdant Matron had only one skill to fight back, Tirlyʼs condition was no good. She also had only one attacking skill, so there wasnʼt any advantage there.

After dodging all the vines, Tirly had the time to counterattack since the beast wasnʼt very quick at activating its skills.

Tirly immediately charged at the beast and punched. The next moment, her punch successfully hit the beast, but instead of causing damage to the beast, Tirly groaned in pain. It was as if she had hit a block of iron.

Since Tirly was only at the early Divine Transformation level, she needed to be meager in her use of skills. The Verdant Matron not only had a home-ground advantage, but its skills also tended to help vitality and energy, so Tirly was at an immense disadvantage there.

At that time, the beast had activated another of its skills [Pollen Burst]. The next moment, Tirly found the world around her shaking. She gritted her teeth and bit her lips to regain her orientation.

At that moment, a cluster of vines came at her.

Argh!

Tirly groaned in pain as one harsh hit landed on her, taking her skin away. She gritted her teeth and kept backing away. After reaching outside the range of the vine whips, she stopped and took a deep breath.

At that moment, there were numerous injuries on her, and her already torn clothes had turned into nothing. A wave of embarrassment and anger hit her as she found herself naked standing there.

It reminded her of the situation in her family every month. Winning against the Verdant Matron wasnʼt a choice but a necessity for her. It wasnʼt something she could give up on. She made up her mind to become suicidal in her approach since she could think of no other strategy at that point.

Since her death would occur only within the confines of the taming battle, she cared only about winning.

Growl!

A beast-like growl escaped her mouth, and she charged. The next moment, a glow appeared around her punch, and she punched the beast.

Unfortunately for her, the Verdant Matron succeeded in activating its defensive skill in time, and what clashed with Tirlyʼs punch wasnʼt its body but a shield made of flowers.

Tirly regained her composure after letting go of her fist and promptly punched again.

In no time, Tirly had repeated the same move several times, and it hadnʼt come cheap. Her face had turned pale as if drained of blood.

She had long lost her energy, so every successive punch was taking the energy from her blood. Tirly didnʼt care and kept at it.

Tirlyʼs chance finally arrived as the flower shield dissipated. Whatever she could use into her punch, she poured and struck.

The next moment, a loud cracking sound rang in the area as one after another crack emerged on the Verdant Matronʼs body.

Before Tirly could celebrate her successful strike, the world around her began to turn dark.

Thud!

The next moment, she crashed onto the ground while the cracks in the beastʼs body kept growing.
