The First Store System

Chapter 1290: Keeping Secret(8)

”Thank you, store owner!” Kernel thanked Aakesh and walked toward the weapons room.

As he entered the room, his eyes fell on the countless murals of different kinds of weapon uses painted across the wall. Kernel felt they were too real and marveled at them. It was just that, and then he went toward the inner circle, where the pillar representing the Bow was waiting for her.

Kernel was a Supreme God level cultivator, so he directly reached the shelf representing the Master King level.

Time flew by, and once Kernel had found a weapon he liked, he paid for it using the store card. His eyes then fell on the pillar representing the training area.

Since Kernel would be using the bow for the first time, he decided to start with the trivial difficulty. As he reached the pillar, he attempted the process as told by the store owner and put his finger on the tiny needle.

The next moment, a prickling pain hit him, and following that, his eyes turned blank. A golden, transparent light surrounded him.

The next moment, Kernel found himself in a white area with a blue screen in front of him. Kernel chose his own race as his opponent and a vast greenfield with a soothing breeze as the environment.

He was only a beginner, so he didnʼt want to put himself in a challenging position right away. The next moment, Kernel found himself in the surroundings he had chosen for himself, with his opponent standing in front of him.

It was a Lazarus that had similar features as him, while the bow carried by the opponent was the exact one he had bought.

Ding!

The bell rang, announcing the start of the battle. Kernel hesitated for a moment on how to take the initiative with the bow while the opponent acted.

The opponent was also a beginner in archery, so his movement was rough. However, it was a step up from Kernel.

The opponent released his grip on the arrow. The next moment, it shot toward Kernel, tearing through the air.

Kernelʼs movements were flustered as he also struck. He released the bowstring earlier than he shouldʼve, and the arrow fell short of its opponent. While the same couldnʼt be said for the opponent. His arrow wasnʼt very quick or powerful, but it didnʼt fall short of Kernel and instead hit him.

Fortunately for Kernel, the opponentʼs aim was off, and it only struck a few cm away from his heart.

Time flew by, and the hour passed in the blink of an eye. For the trivial level of difficulty, the time flow rate in the training area was the same as what was outside, so the system forced him out.

Kernel didnʼt choose to extend his stay in the training area, as that hour was enough for him to learn the basics of archery. He could now shoot a still target in the range of fifty meters and a moving target in the range of twenty meters with an accuracy of forty percent.

Kernel couldnʼt help but thank Aakesh repeatedly in his mind. If not for Aakesh, he wouldʼve chosen the sword and never found his talent in archery.

Kernelʼs talent wasnʼt heaven-shaking, but it was better than that of an average archer. When he came out, his eyes retained their colors while the golden barrier around him dissipated.

Kernel could move to normal level difficulty, but he decided against it. Since he had decided to make his foundation so stable that no one would be able to compete against him at the same level, he needed to be patient and thoughtful.

Kernel decided to devour the concepts he learned in archery today and increase his accuracy rates before going for the higher levels of difficulty. He would return to the store the next day and enter the trivial level again.

After making up his mind, he turned around and left the room. Cultivation arts were still left for him to check, but he decided to check them once he initiated cultivating for the breakthrough. Until then, he would only focus on training his battle instincts and mastering the skills he had bought from the store.

Once he exited the room, he looked at Aakesh. Since Aakesh already had customers in line for him, he decided against bidding him farewell before leaving. The next moment, he activated the store card, and a white light devoured him.

The light disappeared as quickly as it had arrived, and with it, Kernel had also teleported to the coordinates chosen by him.

His residence was outside the range of the store card, so he chose the safest and closest coordinates to his residence.

Since Lazarus was one of the top races, they had numerous universes under their control. The coordinates chosen by Kernel were one such universe.

Every universe under their control had a portal directly to the main planet of the race for the Lazarus members.

After appearing at the coordinates, Kernel immediately went to the special portal. The guards standing around the portal were also the low ranking members of the race. Once they saw Kernel approaching, they respectfully saluted and bowed.

Kernel accepted their salutes and bows with a smile on his face and kept walking forward.

”If anyone finds out about me being here, you are dead!”

Once Kernel had walked away, the threat rang in the guardʼs ears. Kernel wanted to keep the existence of the store secret from other members of his generation for as long as possible. He was the most likely to step into the Sacred Creator level after his grandfather in the family, but it wasnʼt a guarantee.

Kernel knew that once his other siblings heard about the store, the chances of the gulf narrowing between them would increase. It would take only a beast like the Abyssal Butterfly to close the gap, and Kernel couldnʼt let it happen.

Laney stood confused in the cultivation arts room with three pages in her hands. It had been an hour since she pulled the three arts out, but she hadnʼt been able to make up her mind about which one to choose until now.
