The First Store System

Chapter 1289: The Worth of a Choice(7)

Kernel understood that even if he stepped into the Sacred King level at that stage, he would be unable to defeat the Abyssal Butterfly. He couldnʼt use his higher cultivation since the taming battle forced the cultivatorʼs cultivation to regress to match the level of the beasts.

Kernel made up his mind to grow the foundation rather than the level. He also remembered the training area mentioned by the store owner. It could also help him grow stronger in battle.

Kernel wasnʼt a weapon user, but he could become one easily. His strong spirit made it so that his comprehension was great. To test that, Kernel left the room and went toward Aakesh.

Aakesh was already in a conversation with a customer while a few more were waiting behind, so he joined the queue.

Aakesh remembered that the second store upgrade quest had given him thirty years to make a customer the ruler of another Kingdom. To find a suitable candidate, Aakesh had given himself a month. So whenever a Divine Transformation level customer came to the store, Aakesh would check them for their talent.

Aakesh currently had a few customers in mind, and all of them were from the Primal Dimension, but he was still waiting for the month to pass to select the best of the lot.

The customer in front of Aakesh was one such since she was also a Divine Transformation level cultivator, and from the looks of it, her talent didnʼt seem that bad.

”... these are the store products currently available in the store,” Aakesh concluded the introduction of the products and their basic details.

”Thank you, store owner!” The young girl thanked Aakesh and then began to think over the storeʼs products.

She was Laney, a member of the Gurotus race, a race in the Demon group, a royal race of the Ince Kingdom. Laney was the daughter of the King, and her talent was not only the best of her current generation in the family, but she was also the most talented member ever to be born in the Gurotus race.

Since Laney had come of age and had stepped into the way of cultivation, the King ordered her to go to the store.

”My father said that if I canʼt make a decision, I should ask you. Can I ask you, store owner?” Laney respectfully asked.

There was a mixture of sincerity and cunning in her eyes. She sincerely respected Aakesh, as the majority of those who knew about the store and its customers.

Aakesh nodded since that was his duty as the store owner. In the first phase, he was the one to suggest the products to the customers.

”Store owner, please suggest a cultivation art that would be compatible with me the most,” Laney immediately asked with a respectful gaze.

Since she had become an early Divine Transformation level cultivator, it was time for her to choose a cultivation art. Her family had one that allowed her to reach the True God level, but since Laney was the most talented member to be born in the Ince family, the father wanted to give a cultivation art from the store a try.

Aakesh nodded and then took a look up and down at the young girl with his usual indifferent expression. Laney felt shy when she saw Aakesh looking up and down, but as Aakesh began to speak, she calmed down and focused on what he said.

Every race was born with different energy points, so not every cultivation art can be suitable for everyone. Every art can be used by others, but for some, it would be painfully slow, while for others, the same art would make them have explosive growth.

Laney became a member of Gurtotus, had seventy-nine energy points in her body, and they formed an octagon covered by a sphere. All energy points were located in the area below the neck and above the waist.

”Thank you, store owner!” Laney thanked Aakesh after he suggested her three cultivation arts.

The reason Aakesh suggested her three arts, but not the best one, was because of the test. He wanted to test her to see whether she was qualified to become the candidate chosen by him.

Each candidate he had chosen had great judgment, whether it was Maria, Evelyn, or Reed.

Laney had no idea that her destiny depended on her choice. If she chose right, she might not stop at True God and go even further, but if her choice turned out to be wrong, she might be stuck at the same level as her father.

Laney walked toward the cultivation art room with a smiling face, while another customer took her spot and asked about the storeʼs products.

Since Aakesh had suggested the cultivation arts, when she reached into the shelf for the lesser level cultivation arts, she pulled out one of the three. She then repeated the same twice and had three lesser level cultivation arts in her hands.

Laney began reading the cultivation art summaries one by one and started to compare the three. It wasnʼt easy to compare the three and choose the one with the best benefit, or Aakesh wouldnʼt have given her the test.

While Laney was comparing the three cultivation arts, Aakesh was busy talking with customers.

It was finally Kernelʼs turn, and he immediately asked about the training area and weapons.

Aakesh explained the product in detail. Aakesh also suggested a bow to Kernel as a weapon after he asked Aakesh.

Kernelʼs physique wasnʼt that great to have a close combat fight with members of the races at the same level as his. His spiritual energy was also abundant, so he could more precisely control the shooting and releasing rates of arrows.

A bow and arrow was the most comfortable weapon to master at the beginnerʼs stage. Kernel accepted Aakeshʼs suggestion and decided to do the same. Archery will also improve his precision and battle judgment.

Kernel then thanked Aakesh and went toward the weapons room. He would first buy a weapon and then start in the training area from the first level of difficulty.
