The Entry-plundering Demon Hunter

Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Lin Yi is in a Relationship?

Seated on the bus headed for the Martial Arts Hall.

Lin Yi’s gaze was fixed on the world outside the window.

There were far more police cars on the streets today.

Officers from the Martial Arts Police Station were patrolling, armed with live ammunition.

Besides them, public security team members carrying riot shields and batons, with red armbands on their sleeves, had also all left the Nest of Comfort.

They were patrolling everywhere, through the main streets and back alleys.

Lin Yi wasn’t the only one surprised by this unusual scene.

The other passengers on the bus had also started to discuss it.

”What’s going on today? Why are the Martial Arts Police Station and the security teams out so early in the morning?”

a middle-aged woman asked curiously.

The words had barely left her mouth when another woman traveling with her, seated right next to her, laughed.

”What other reason could there be? Didn’t you hear how terrifying things got last night?”

”A bunch of demons got into the city yesterday, killing people everywhere!”

”That’s right! I could hear the demons roaring from my home. I was so scared I barely slept a wink all night!”

”It’s about time they did something! The security in Xinghai City is a complete mess right now!”

”Those people from the Martial Arts Police Station and the security teams are useless! Something happens, a ton of people die, and only then do they decide to show up!”

”It’s just for show. What demons are going to be out in broad daylight?”

Soon, a whole group of people around them had joined the discussion.

Sitting a little further up, Lin Yi heard everything clearly.

A helpless little smile touched his lips.

But those women had a point about one thing.

The security in Xinghai City was a complete and utter mess.

It wasn’t just the demons; violent crime was rampant, making the city a paradise for criminals.

If they didn’t crack down on it soon, things would likely spiral completely out of control.

「Twenty-some minutes later.」

Lin Yi arrived at the Martial Arts Hall.

As soon as he stepped out of the elevator, he saw that there were far fewer students in the training room than usual.

Normally, at this time, people like Sun Tao, Hu Quan, and Tong Ye would have already arrived.

But today, he didn’t see a single one of them.

There were only a few familiar faces, and even Zhou Qi was nowhere to be seen.

It was a bit strange, but Lin Yi didn’t dwell on it.

First, he went to the locker room and changed into his Martial Arts Uniform.

When he came out again, he saw that only one or two more students had shown up.

And they hadn’t even changed yet; they were gathered with the other students, discussing something.

”Senior Brother Lin, you’re here!”

Suddenly, a smiling girl walked straight toward Lin Yi.

The girl had only been at the Martial Arts Hall for a couple of days.

She was a third-year high school student from Fifth Middle School.

She was also preparing for the martial arts college entrance exam, so she had come to the Martial Arts Hall for a final push.

Lin Yi glanced at her, smiled, and nodded. ”Morning!”

”Hehehe... Senior Brother Lin, will you spar with me later?”

”I feel like I had a bit of a breakthrough after yesterday’s training. Could you give me some pointers?”

The girl’s name was Shen Mengyi.

She had a sweet kind of beauty and looked particularly quiet when she wasn’t talking.

But her personality was actually very lively and cheerful.

Despite having been at the Martial Arts Hall for only a few days, she had already gotten to know all the senior students.

Faced with such an enthusiastic and cheerful girl,

Lin Yi naturally wouldn’t refuse a request to spar.

He nodded and said, ”Sure. Go get changed first.”

”Okay...”

Shen Mengyi smiled, nodded, and ran straight for the locker room.

Just as she left, a few other students saw Lin Yi and quickly gathered around him.

”Lin Yi, did you hear? A bunch of demons snuck into the city last night,”

a student named Sun Qian said.

Lin Yi nodded. ”I heard.”

”You didn’t go out hunting them, did you?” Sun Qian asked with a strange look in his eyes.

Lin Yi frowned slightly, but before he could answer,

a chubby kid next to them named Wang Shuang, the Little Fatty, hurriedly lowered his voice.

”Let me tell you, Sun Tao and Hu Quan went out Demon Hunting last night.”

”I heard they ran into a 2-star demon and almost lost their lives. Then they ran into Coach Yang, who saved them just in time!”

Lin Yi: ”???”

”It wasn’t just them. A few others from our dojo went out too.”

”I even heard that someone was killed by a demon...”

”For real? Is that reliable news?”

”Haven’t you noticed how many people aren’t here today? Even Senior Brother Zhou Qi didn’t show up.”

As he said this, the others finally took notice.

The dojo seemed rather empty today.

There were usually over thirty students, but now, only a dozen or so had trickled in.

More than half of them were missing.

This forced them to connect it all to what happened last night.

Demons had run rampant through the city all night.

And many Demon Hunters and Martial Arts Police Station officers had gone out to hunt them down.

That night, the roars of demons could be heard constantly.

As well as the sounds of fighting from downstairs and on the streets.

What was even more traumatizing were the people who were eaten alive...

Their miserable wails and the pervasive stench of blood in the air.

Most of them were probably just like those women on the bus,

unable to get a wink of sound sleep all night.

Just as they were gossiping, Shen Mengyi, having changed her clothes, ran over.

”Senior Brother Lin, shall we go spar?”

Lin Yi turned to look at her.

Her snow-white Martial Arts Uniform made her already sweet face look even more adorable.

Her fair skin seemed exceptionally smooth and pale.

Lin Yi nodded. ”Alright, let’s go spar.”

With that, the two of them walked toward the sparring ring.

After they left, Sun Qian wore a gossipy expression.

He lowered his voice and said, ”What’s the deal? Is there... something going on between Lin Yi and Shen Mengyi?”

”Do you even have to ask? It’s obvious at a glance, okay?”

”Holy crap! No way! Senior Brother Lin is in a relationship?”

”Shh... Keep it down! Be careful Senior Brother Lin doesn’t hear you and challenge you to a match. If he hasn’t announced it, he obviously doesn’t want people to know. We should just pretend we don’t know anything and not spread rumors!”

”Right, right. But Shen Mengyi with Senior Brother Lin... I guess she’s barely a match for him.”

”Pfft, you’ve got some damn high standards, don’t you? ’Barely a match’? Shen Mengyi is gorgeous, okay? I heard she’s the school belle of Fifth Middle School!”

”I’m not talking about looks, I’m talking about cultivation level. She’s only a 4th-rank, while Senior Brother Lin is already past 1-star!”

”That’s why Lin Yi is helping her cram right now, isn’t it?”

”...”

After a few more lines of gossip,

Just then, Yang Yong walked into the dojo with a grim expression.

And right behind him was none other than Zhou Qi.

He glanced grimly around the dojo, then clapped his hands.

He immediately caught the attention of the dozen or so students, as well as Lin Yi and Shen Mengyi on the sparring ring.

”Everyone, quiet down for a moment. I have a few announcements to make!”

After Yang Yong spoke, his sharp gaze swept over everyone’s faces.

And when his eyes landed on Lin Yi,

his expression visibly relaxed a little. He continued, ”I’m sure you’re all aware of what’s been happening these past two days!”

”The city-wide Martial Arts Hall tournament is being postponed for now!”

”Also, starting today, classes at the Martial Arts Hall will end at three in the afternoon!”

”Even though the hours are shorter, don’t you dare get lazy once you’re home.”

”Keep practicing your basic fist techniques, Body Techniques, and leg techniques!”

”I’ll be conducting spot checks at any time!”

”One more thing. Don’t go out at night if you can help it. Xinghai City isn’t safe right now. Demons are running rampant, as you all know!”

”Don’t try to be a hero. It’s not worth losing your life over!”

”Alright, that’s all for now. Get back to training!”

After Yang Yong finished speaking,

he glanced at Lin Yi again, then turned and whispered a few words to Zhou Qi.

Yang Yong then walked toward the elevator.

Once he was gone, Zhou Qi continued, ”Coach Yang has some business to attend to. For the time being, Lin Yi and I will be in charge of your training schedule!”

”If there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask either me or Lin Yi. Got it?”

”Yes, Senior Brother Zhou Qi!”

The other students all nodded in unison.

Zhou Qi walked up to the sparring ring and said with a smile, ”It wasn’t my decision. Coach Yang just gave the order!”

Lin Yi glanced at him and nodded with a smile.

The next moment, Shen Mengyi, who was opposite him, didn’t even give Lin Yi a chance to speak.

”Senior Brother Lin, watch out!”

Suddenly, Shen Mengyi lunged straight at Lin Yi.

Lin Yi dodged to the side and grabbed her wrist.

He gave a slight pull... and as a result, Shen Mengyi’s entire body fell into his arms.

This intimate scene...

made Zhou Qi repeatedly cover his eyes. ”Alright, you two go on and ’train.’ I won’t disturb you anymore!”

Lin Yi: ”...”
