The Entry-plundering Demon Hunter

Chapter 93: Chapter 93: The True Intent of Blood Drop

”Old Lin, it’s so chaotic outside, there are demonic beasts everywhere. How can you not be worried at all?”

Liu Hongmei walked out of the room, restless and anxious.

She saw Lin Dazhi sitting in the living room, watching TV as if nothing was wrong.

They had just finished dinner.

Lin Yu had been called out. He said it was his coach from the Martial Arts Hall, telling them to go hunt demonic beasts tonight.

As a result, Lin Yu left immediately, without a second thought.

It was already late at night.

Lin Yu still hadn’t returned, so Liu Hongmei naturally couldn’t sleep.

From time to time, she went to the balcony to look outside,

hoping her son would come home soon.

Tonight’s news had also reported on it again and again.

Demonic beasts were pouring into the city, and citizens were being warned not to leave their homes, to lock their doors and windows, and not to go out...

Liu Hongmei had even seen demonic beasts appear downstairs more than once.

It left her on edge every single time.

However, Old Lin’s composure was somewhat unexpected.

Ever since the night he was punched, after which he stayed out for a full day,

he had become much more indifferent to everything upon his return.

Although he hadn’t argued with Liu Hongmei, she could feel it.

Old Lin had changed.

He had changed so much she didn’t recognize him, to the point where he even felt like a stranger.

”What’s the use of you being anxious? He’s not a child anymore. Besides, didn’t he say it was Coach Wang from their Martial Arts Hall who took them out for training?”

”I think it’s a good thing. A little more training, killing a few more demonic beasts, and he won’t be scared to death when he gets on a battlefield in the future!” Old Lin said calmly.

Liu Hongmei stared at him in surprise and walked closer. ”Old Lin, are those really your words?”

”Lin Yu is our son! Aren’t you worried about him at all?”

”He’s the future hope of our family. How can you say something so cold?”

As she finished speaking, Old Lin suddenly looked up at her.

”Liu Hongmei, let me correct you. Lin Yu is *your* son. He’s not *my* son!”

”Also... don’t talk to me about hope. My hope is already gone. It was pushed out by you and your son!”

Old Lin’s words,

left Liu Hongmei utterly shocked.

She never would have imagined that Lin Dazhi could say such a thing.

It was true that Lin Yu wasn’t his son.

But what did he mean, his hope was already gone?

Wasn’t Lin Yu their future hope? As long as he could get into a Martial Arts University, couldn’t he take them all to live in the New District?

”Old Lin, you... what’s wrong with you? Don’t scare me. If something’s on your mind, can’t you just tell me? Are you still angry about what happened that night?”

”I asked Xiaoyu. It wasn’t him who hit you. It might have been Lin Yi...”

”Yes, it was probably him. He couldn’t make it on the outside, so he snuck back. He didn’t want you to see him, so he punched you in a panic and then ran off again...”

This story,

was something Liu Hongmei and Lin Yu had fabricated together.

Ever since that morning, when Lin Dazhi had left home without even eating breakfast,

the mother and son had stayed home and concocted this very story.

They had planned to pin the whole thing on Lin Yi once Lin Dazhi returned.

But...

Lin Dazhi didn’t come back all night, giving her no chance to tell him.

When he returned the next day, Lin Dazhi’s personality had completely changed.

He became completely indifferent to family matters and everything related to Lin Yu.

He no longer treated her, his wife, with the same careful consideration and doting affection as before...

Lin Dazhi gave her a deep look.

There was no anger, no roaring, and certainly no exasperation.

Instead, he said calmly, ”Liu Hongmei, there’s no need for you to say things like that anymore.”

”Does it matter who hit me? Does it matter if Lin Yi comes back or not?”

”Lin Yu is your son. If you’re really worried about him, then call his Coach Wang and ask!”

”Or you could just go out and find Lin Yu yourself...”

”I’m tired. I’m going to bed.”

With that, Lin Dazhi turned off the TV.

He got up and walked back to his room.

In that moment, Liu Hongmei was dumbfounded.

She couldn’t believe Lin Dazhi could say such things.

’Where did it all go wrong?’

’How could Lin Dazhi change so completely? Or did that punch that night knock some sense into him?’

Liu Hongmei sat on the sofa, dazed.

Then, she picked up her phone and searched for the number of Coach Wang from the Martial Arts Hall.

As soon as she found it, she dialed.

The phone rang a dozen times before it was finally answered.

”Hello?”

”I-is this Coach Wang? I’m Lin Yu’s mother...”

...

SHNK—

A long blade sliced open the old goat’s neck.

Fresh blood gushed out.

Its pupils were filled with terror and confusion.

It didn’t even know how this Demon Hunter wearing a clown mask had appeared before it.

As blood continued to spray out,

the old goat felt its strength gradually draining away.

Its body grew weaker, and its two legs became limp and powerless.

THUD...

It fell directly to its knees.

It raised its two hooves, clutching the wound on its neck, trying to stop the bleeding.

But it was useless.

It only felt its vision turning black as its consciousness gradually faded.

Dozens of seconds later,

its consciousness completely gone, the old goat collapsed to the ground, its life signs vanished...

Lin Yi glanced down at it. ”Sister Xue, have demonic beasts all gotten this smart?”

”To think they’d set a trap here to lure in Demon Hunters!”

He then turned to look at the corpse of the weasel demon not far away.

It was these two that had set the trap, killing more than a dozen Demon Hunters in a row.

They naturally couldn’t eat the bodies of all these Demon Hunters.

So they just piled them up haphazardly, forming a small mound.

Snow Angel walked over. ”The higher a demonic beast’s cultivation, the higher its intelligence becomes.”

”These two demonic beasts both reached 1-star cultivation, so naturally, they’ve both gained sentience.”

”Weren’t you collecting corpses? Take them both.”

Lin Yi smiled and nodded, directly storing the two demonic beast corpses in his Storage Magical Artifact.

Tonight’s haul, it could be said, was quite bountiful.

He had collected at least several dozen demonic beast corpses in his Storage Magical Artifact.

Toward the end, Lin Yi had even started to get picky.

’Not taking anything below 1-star...’

By the time the two of them walked out of the alley,

Snow Angel glanced at the sky. ”It’s getting late. You should head back.”

”It’s still early. It’s just past twelve...”

”After midnight, the demonic beasts will start to retreat one by one.

Besides, we aren’t the only ones Demon Hunting tonight!”

”You just saw it yourself. Even people from the Martial Arts Police Station are out, along with Captain Chu’s team and other civilian Demon Hunters!”

”The demonic beasts in the city have been brought under control now. You’ve also collected plenty of corpses, enough to earn a fortune!”

After Snow Angel finished speaking, she turned back to look at Lin Yi.

After a moment, he finally nodded. ”Alright. It really is a case of too many wolves and not enough meat now.”

”Then I’ll take my leave. I’m heading back.”

”You be careful on your own.”

Snow Angel gave a slight nod.

Lin Yi said no more and quickly disappeared into the night.

...

「New Star Martial Arts Hall.」

In the Hall Master’s office.

The old Hall Master stood before the window, his expression grave.

He stared at a faint red glow in the distance that was gradually dimming.

Until the red light disappeared completely.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

The old Hall Master snapped out of his thoughts. ”Come in!”

His voice was unhurried, but it sounded somewhat weary.

The moment the door opened, Yang Yong and several other coaches from the Martial Arts Hall walked in.

”Hall Master...”

they said in low voices as they approached.

The old Hall Master glanced back at them. ”Have the demonic beasts outside been cleared out?”

”They’re more or less cleaned up. Some of the demonic beasts have already retreated from the city,” Yang Yong answered quickly.

”Hall Master, the commotion tonight was huge. The demonic beasts came out in full force. It feels like something isn’t right about this.

Even in the past, if a Demon Hunter was exposed, at most eight or ten demonic beasts would enter the city to slaughter innocents!”

”But tonight, there were at least one or two hundred!”

Another coach named Liu Yuan spoke, his brows tightly furrowed.

Like Yang Yong, he was one of the Martial Arts Hall’s gold-medal coaches.

He possessed a 5-star cultivation.

He was also one of the Hall’s administrators.

The old Hall Master nodded gravely. ”Did you not see that red glow?”

”The red glow?”

”The Hall Master means the blood-red color that appeared on the horizon?”

”We saw it, but it didn’t last long before it disappeared!”

Several coaches all nodded.

Only Yang Yong and Liu Yuan exchanged a look.

”Hall Master, could it be that a great demon is about to be born?” Yang Yong asked.

The old Hall Master nodded. ”That red glow was like blood, and it was accompanied by a considerable amount of demonic aura!”

”It means a great demon is on the verge of being born!”

”Tonight’s situation was indeed unusual. If I’m not mistaken, it might have been a cover for the great demon’s birth!”

”And behind the scenes, someone must be fanning the flames!”

”When you were out Demon Hunting just now, did you notice anyone from Blood Drop?”

Hearing this,

Yang Yong, Liu Yuan, and the others exchanged glances.

Then they nodded. ”Hall Master, we did see people from Blood Drop, lurking and watching from the shadows!”

”But they didn’t get directly involved. Does this mean the great demon’s birth has something to do with Blood Drop?”

The old Hall Master didn’t answer right away.

He turned his head to look at the night sky outside the window again.

By now, the red glow in the sky had long since vanished.

The inky blackness had returned.

After a long moment, he finally said, ”The Blood Drop Believers have come from the New District to the Old District, most likely for that great demon!”

”And the reason they’re capturing Martial Artists everywhere is probably to use their blood essence to help that great demon be born...”

”What?”

”Blood Drop wants a great demon to be born?”

”Do they want to use that great demon to fight their way back into the New District?”

When the old Hall Master finished speaking,

the others were all utterly shocked.

These Blood Drop Believers had long been deprived of any space to survive in the New District.

They had been pushed into the Restricted Area by the Demon Hunters and official forces of the New District.

And the Restricted Area was full of ferocious beasts and strange creatures.

They were completely different from demonic beasts, killing purely for the sake of killing.

The Blood Drop Believers couldn’t cooperate with them.

That’s why they fled the New District.

’Capturing Martial Artists just to use their blood essence to help a great demon be born?’

If that great demon really were born,

the Old District would surely descend into a living Hell.

And with the help of the Blood Drop Believers, it would carve a path of slaughter to the New District.

When that time comes, it will inevitably lead to widespread death and destruction.

”Contact Chu Zhengxiong. Tell him to come to the Martial Arts Hall to see me!”

The next moment, the old Hall Master turned back and said to Yang Yong and the others.

Yang Yong nodded with a serious expression. ”Yes, Hall Master!”

He then took out his phone and dialed a number.

The call quickly connected.

Chu Zhengxiong’s deep voice came through. ”Hello? Old Yang, what are you doing calling me in the middle of the night instead of sleeping? I’m busy working here!”

Yang Yong was taken aback. ”Old Chu, stop what you’re doing. Let the Martial Arts Police Station handle the cleanup. The Hall Master wants you at the Martial Arts Hall. He needs to discuss something with you.”

”Who? The old Hall Master? Alright, I’ll be there in five minutes...”
