The Entry-plundering Demon Hunter

Chapter 77: Chapter 77: Trainee Team Member, Snow Angel

About twenty minutes later.

East City, container warehouse.

Lin Yi paid the fare and got out of the taxi.

Everything was pitch-black, without a single glimmer of light.

Lin Yi took out his phone, just as he was about to contact Snow Angel.

Suddenly, a woman’s voice echoed from the darkness.

”Over here!”

Lin Yi quickly looked up toward the sound.

A figure dressed in black and wearing an all-black mask seemed to melt into the darkness.

If she hadn’t spoken, Lin Yi might not have noticed her at all.

Lin Yi walked over to Snow Angel. ”What are you doing all the way out here?”

Snow Angel glanced at him.

”Less talk. Follow me.”

With that, Snow Angel turned and walked away.

Lin Yi was already getting used to her cold demeanor and her economy of words.

He said nothing more and followed Snow Angel deeper into the container warehouse.

Giant shipping containers stood in rows, side by side.

This place had once been bustling, with companies renting containers to use as warehouses.

They were used for storing and shipping inventory.

From dawn to dusk, the place was never empty, with trucks constantly coming and going.

But later, for some unknown reason,

the place was slowly abandoned, eventually becoming what it was today.

Now, the container yard was overgrown with weeds, and the ground was littered with discarded junk.

A foul stench emanated from some of the containers whose doors had been left wide open.

After leading Lin Yi through the maze of containers for several minutes,

they finally arrived in front of a specific container.

When they arrived, Lin Yi saw that three other people were already there.

One of them was a burly, powerfully built man, standing over 1.8 meters tall, with a pink helmet on his head.

His powerful muscles looked as if they would burst right through his leather jacket.

Lin Yi recognized this man. It was none other than Chu Zhengxiong, the captain of the fifth Demon Hunting Squad from the New District’s Demon Hunting Bureau...

The moment Chu Zhengxiong saw Lin Yi,

he broke into a wide grin. ”Well, kid, it looks like we’re fated to meet. Fancy seeing you again, huh?”

Hearing this, Lin Yi quickly nodded. ”Hello, Senior...”

”What’s with ’Senior’? That sounds so formal. My surname is Chu, just call me Brother Chu!”

Chu Zhengxiong said heartily.

Lin Yi nodded again and called him Brother Chu.

Chu Zhengxiong then said with a smile, ”Time for some proper introductions. We are members of a Demon Hunting Squad from the New District’s Demon Hunting Bureau!”

”This is Zhan Kai, surname Zhan, a member of the Demon Hunting Squad!”

”This is Sun Lang, surname Sun, also a member of my squad!”

”As for her... just call her Snow Angel. She’s an intern on the team!”

After Chu Zhengxiong had introduced everyone,

Lin Yi glanced at the profiles of Zhan Kai and Sun Lang.

Their Cultivation Realms had both reached 5-Star, second only to Chu Zhengxiong.

That was 1-Star higher than Snow Angel.

”An intern?”

Lin Yi glanced at Snow Angel and asked, finding it a bit strange.

Chu Zhengxiong chuckled. ”She’s a student at the New District Martial Arts University. She’s about to graduate, so this counts as her internship. They assigned her to my squad to get some field experience!”

”It seems we’re all connected by fate. She trusts you, so just tag along and see what happens!”

”When the time comes, don’t speak, and more importantly, don’t do anything rash. Let us handle everything!”

Chu Zhengxiong said to Lin Yi, his expression suddenly serious.

Lin Yi nodded.

’Although I don’t understand what mission they’re here to carry out, it wouldn’t hurt to tag along and watch the show.’

After Chu Zhengxiong listed a few more prohibitions for Lin Yi,

he finally turned and scanned their surroundings.

After a moment, he said, ”Looks like Xiaoyu and Mo Shusheng aren’t coming. We’re not waiting. Let’s go!”

After Chu Zhengxiong spoke,

the other three nodded and silently followed him into the container yard.

Lin Yi followed behind them all.

They walked for about ten minutes.

Suddenly, Lin Yi spotted a light up ahead.

The light was particularly conspicuous in the darkness.

As they drew a little closer, they could faintly hear people talking.

Chu Zhengxiong quickly lowered his voice and turned back to Snow Angel, Zhan Kai, and Sun Lang, making a few hand signals.

The next moment, the three of them quickly split up, heading in different directions.

Chu Zhengxiong glanced at Lin Yi again,

motioning for him to follow.

The two of them advanced less than fifty meters further

when Chu Zhengxiong pointed upward.

Then, Lin Yi watched as Chu Zhengxiong’s massive, burly frame

landed as light as a feather atop a shipping container after just a few leaps.

He didn’t make a single sound.

The next moment, Chu Zhengxiong reached down, gesturing for Lin Yi to come up as well.

He looked up at the roughly three-meter-high container.

Taking a few steps back, he activated his [Wall-Scaling] Body Technique.

With a few more leaps, he too appeared silently on top of the container.

This Body Technique was a talent Lin Yi had plundered from the Cat Demon.

When he landed in front of Chu Zhengxiong,

the big man couldn’t help but give him a thumbs-up.

Then, Chu Zhengxiong said no more.

Instead, he lay flat on the container and began to slowly crawl toward the far side.

Lin Yi did the same, lying flat and crawling slowly forward.

It took what felt like an eternity for Lin Yi to crawl across the ten-plus-meter-long container to the other side.

When Lin Yi carefully peered over the edge,

he saw an open clearing not far ahead.

A group of people wearing black robes and hoods

were standing perfectly still, forming a circle.

Inside the circle were a dozen or so man-sized crates.

They stood motionless, as if performing some kind of ritual.

Seeing this bizarre scene,

Lin Yi’s brow furrowed.

”Those are members of Blood Drop... We came for them.”

”See those man-sized crates?”

Chu Zhengxiong kept his voice as low as possible,

explaining their identity to Lin Yi.

Lin Yi nodded, and Chu Zhengxiong continued, ”Each of those crates holds one or two people.”

”Those people are the goods for tonight’s transaction, and all of them are Martial Artists who practice the Martial Arts...”

”Martial Artists? Could this be related to what’s been on the news recently?”

Lin Yi immediately recalled.

The news had recently been full of reports about Martial Artists mysteriously disappearing.

They were suspected to have been kidnapped.

Mo Shusheng had also said that the Little Demons in the Old District weren’t enough to warrant the Demon Hunting Bureau sending a team.

For a Demon Hunting Squad to come here, they had to have a more important mission.

Now, Lin Yi understood everything.

’So Chu Zhengxiong and his team are here for those robed figures.’

’And the culprits who have been throwing the Martial Artists of Xinghai City into a panic...’

’...are these robed people from the so-called Blood Drop Organization?’

Chu Zhengxiong nodded. ”That’s right. It’s them...”
