The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 436: “Don’t You Think You’re Being a Little Too Cocky?”

This incident had indeed become a big deal.

At least, within the entire royal capital, in less than an hour, not only the nobles, but even the commoners knew about it.

“I heard that the young master of the Lucica family offended Viscount Buztout.”

“The young master of the Lucica family offended a woman associated with Viscount Buztout.”

“Duke Lucica is now on his way to the Buztout mansion with his guards and knights.”

“A viscount actually confronted a Duke. How impressive.”

“Only Viscount Buztout would dare to do such a thing.”

Even though it was the middle of the night, the streets and alleys of the capital were filled with such discussions, showing how big this incident had become.

This was also because Shien was involved.

Since Shien was famous, many people were paying attention to him. Once he did something, it would naturally spread quickly and become known to everyone.

Therefore, not only the nobles, but even some bold commoners went to the noble district, to the Buztout mansion, intending to watch the events unfold.

However, when they arrived at the Buztout mansion, they were surprised to find that this incident was even bigger than they had imagined.

Because the entire area in front of the Buztout mansion’s gate was surrounded by a dense crowd of knights.

And at the forefront was a luxuriously dressed, elderly noble, seemingly around fifty years old.

This person was Edel’s father, the Duke of the Kingdom of Mitra—Jeroman Lucica.

At this moment, Jeroman’s face was extremely grim, with the timid Eichi and Reid standing beside him. It was clear that he was on the verge of exploding.

In fact, Jeroman was in a very bad mood.

Not only because of the trouble his son had caused, but also because this matter had become public knowledge, making him feel utterly humiliated.

Therefore, almost without thinking, Jeroman directly brought all his guards and knights, surrounding the entire Buztout mansion.

“Shien Buztout!”

Jeroman shouted angrily.

“Return my son to me!”

At Jeroman’s roar, the knights behind him all stepped forward in unison.

“Boom!”

The sound of heavy footsteps echoed, instantly filling the area with a murderous aura.

This surprised the nobles and commoners watching this scene.

“Is Duke Lucica really planning to fight Viscount Buztout?”

“He actually dares to do so.”

“Although the other party is just a Viscount, he’s also the top candidate for Princess Lucy’s husband.”

“He actually disrespects even the royal family?”

“It seems he’s lost his mind for the sake of his only son.”

Everyone was discussing this.

Until…

“How disturbing. Causing such a commotion in the middle of the night. As expected of a Duke, truly knows how to abuse his power.”

With these words, the gate of the Buztout mansion opened.

Inside, there were no guards or knights, only Shien, along with the members of Vivian’s squad, slowly walking out, appearing before everyone.

Naturally, Edel was also brought out.

However, he was being dragged out by Shien, who was holding his collar.

Everyone gasped upon seeing this scene.

Not only because Edel was being dragged out, but also because this Duke’s son was not only covered in wounds, but also bruised and swollen, barely alive, a trail of blood even dragging behind him, looking extremely miserable. Ṛᴀ₦ÔＢÊꞨ

This was beyond just being disheveled.

“Edel!” Jeroman was shocked and enraged, his face turning livid as he looked at Shien as if he were his mortal enemy. He growled, “Bastard! How dare you…!?”

Looking at the furious Jeroman, Shien smiled brightly, as if he hadn’t done any of this.

“Of course, I dare.” Shien said with a smirk. “Just a piece of trash who bullies others, what’s there to be afraid of?”

“You…!” Jeroman pointed at Shien, panting and growling, his eyes bloodshot, “Return him to me!”

However, instead of complying with Jeroman’s angry shouts, Shien curled his lip, dragged Edel over, and threw him before him.

“Bang!”

The next moment, Shien raised his foot without hesitation and stomped heavily on Edel.

“Aaaaaah…!”

Edel screamed in agony, his cries heart-wrenching.

“Stop!”

Jeroman finally exploded. He raised his staff, chanted a spell, and unleashed a towering inferno towards Shien.

“[Bestow: Dispel].”

Shien didn’t even move, just chanted a single word, his magic power erupting. The flames, heading towards him amidst everyone’s exclamations, were instantly dispersed, vanishing without a trace.

“Bang!”

Without any further nonsense, or even retaliating, after dispelling the flames, Shien raised his foot again and kicked Edel mercilessly, making him scream again.

This silent mockery and sarcasm made Jeroman lose his mind.

“Attack!”

Jeroman roared, and the knights behind him drew their weapons, the magicians raised their staffs, and they all attacked Shien together.

Unfortunately, Shien still didn’t move a muscle, and even the girls around him just watched with grim expressions, unmoving.

However, just because Shien and his group didn’t move, it didn’t mean that no one would.

A scorching breath suddenly descended from the sky, blasting the charging knights.

“Boom—!”

With an explosive roar, the scorching breath spread like erupting magma, instantly scorching the ground and sending the attacking knights flying, screaming as they were blown away, falling to the ground in disarray.

“Roar—!”

A black dragon descended from the sky, hovering above Shien and his group, looking at everyone below and letting out a ferocious roar.

The roar transformed into a powerful shockwave, sweeping over everyone.

“The black dragon of Atlus!”

“It’s the black dragon of Atlus!”

The onlookers exclaimed in shock and fear.

Jeroman, blinded by rage, was doused with a bucket of cold water, his heart filled with shock and anger as he looked at the descending black dragon.

Even he understood that facing the legendary black dragon of Atlus, no matter how many people he had, it was useless.

It was a legendary monster said to be above level ninety, an almost invincible King of Monsters. Unless it was the Royal Knights, which noble’s private army or knight order could defeat such a monster?

“Are you sober now, Duke?”

Shien finally spoke sarcastically.

“Did you really think you were the one in a position of power? Don’t you think you’re being a little too cocky?”

These words made the veins on Jeroman’s temples bulge, his fists clenching tightly, his rage evident.

When had he ever been treated like this?

As a Duke, a high-ranking noble, a true member of the royal family, even the royal family had to greet him with a smile. Even the king of the small country bordering his territory flattered him. How could Jeroman tolerate being treated like this?

This was also the reason why he dared to bring his knights to Shien’s doorstep, even though he knew Shien wasn’t someone to be trifled with.

In his opinion, Shien was just a viscount, no matter how extraordinary. He should still show respect to him, a Duke.

Who would have thought that Shien not only didn’t give him any face, but also mocked and humiliated him relentlessly, not taking him seriously at all.

“You’re just a viscount, how dare you treat me like this?” Jeroman roared. “Do you really think you’re Princess Lucy’s husband? You’re just a candidate!”

This was also one of the reasons why Jeroman dared to come here.

After all, Shien was just a candidate, not Lucy’s actual husband, so Jeroman dared to act so arrogantly.

However…

“Are you senile? Do you really think you’re that impressive?” Shien’s smile vanished as he looked at Jeroman and said nonchalantly, “Setting aside the matter of whether I’m a candidate or a viscount, I was granted a royal token when I was still an adventurer. Have you forgotten? Or do you simply not care?”

Saying so, Shien took out the royal token from his pocket.

Seeing the token, everyone suddenly remembered this matter.

That’s right, Shien did have a royal token.

Because Shien had done so many impressive things, many people had forgotten that he possessed a royal token.

“Seeing the royal token is like seeing a member of the royal family. I don’t need to teach you this rule, do I, old man?” Shien looked at Jeroman, whose face was alternating between pale and livid, and said sarcastically, “Want to compare statuses? I really want to say, you’re not the king, and there are people of higher status than you. You, a Duke, are just a high-ranking noble at best, or a descendant of someone who lost in the struggle for the throne and was sent to the frontier. What makes you so arrogant?”

“You… you…” Jeroman’s hand trembled as he pointed at Shien.

He was both angry and furious.

He couldn’t believe that Shien dared to say such things.

These words weren’t just an insult to him, but to all Dukes.

Because of Shien’s words, the members of the Duke families in the crowd twitched their lips.

But at this moment, Shien no longer held back.

“You want this guy?”

Shien kicked Edel, who was lying on the ground, a chilling smile appearing on his face.

“Fine, I’ll leave you the corpse.”

Saying so, Shien stepped on Edel’s neck and suddenly exerted force.

“Crack!”

Edel’s screams stopped abruptly.

“No!!!”

Jeroman’s mournful cry echoed throughout the area.
