The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 417: A Universe of Infinite Possibilities

In that instant, the inexplicable irritation in Airi’s heart vanished without a trace.

Replaced by three words—What to do!?

These three words made Airi hug the pillow tightly, her gaze towards Shien filled with vigilance.

But Shien just smiled.

“There was such a promise, right?”

Shien’s smile was exceptionally bright.

However, that bright smile only made Airi want to punch him in the face.

Under such circumstances, Airi really wanted to say no.

But wouldn’t that be going back on her word?

What was going back on one’s word?

That was something only children would do!

Therefore, Airi couldn’t do such a thing.

“…Indeed, there was such a promise.”

Airi replied reluctantly.

Shien’s smile became even brighter.

“Then you should keep your promise, right?” Shien said pointedly. “That’s right, you’re the Dragon Demon, one of the strongest beings in the Demon Race. How could you go back on your word?”

Airi’s eye twitched.

This guy was really annoying.

“…Of course, I won’t go back on my word, but you haven’t fulfilled the agreement yet, have you?” Airi was silent for a moment, then said with an impassive face, “Don’t forget, the leader of [Mirage] hasn’t been caught yet.”

The implication was that before eliminating all the members of [Mirage], Shien hadn’t fulfilled the agreement.

Unfortunately, if this could get rid of Shien, then she was underestimating him.

“The agreement we made was that as long as I go to the Stalim Duchy with you and help you annihilate the Old Demon Faction there, that would be enough, right?” Shien said with a smile. “Now, I’ve gone to the Stalim Duchy with you, and the Old Demon Faction there has been almost completely annihilated. Although the leader escaped, we didn’t say that we had to eliminate every single one of them, did we?” Ṛ𝘢ΝŎꞖÈṥ

Airi was stunned.

He could do that?

“Are you trying to go back on your word?”

Airi blurted out.

“I think it’s you who wants to go back on your word.” Shien looked at Airi and said innocently, “I went through a lot of trouble to help you this time. If it weren’t for the Holy Sword and Beatrice, we might have only been able to defeat Lilith, the evil god released by [Mirage]. I helped you through such a dangerous situation, and you’re using excuses to get out of it. Don’t you think that’s a bit much?”

Airi was speechless.

Shien had a point.

The goal of [Mirage] was to release Lilith, the evil god, and let her descend again, turning the land into hell.

Shien, encouraged by Airi, went there to deal with this Old Demon Faction branch, but ended up facing an evil god comparable to a Demon Lord. If it weren’t for the Holy Sword and his blessing, it would have been a life-or-death situation, or even certain death.

Although Shien had played a part in releasing Lilith, it was voluntary, but the danger of the incident itself hadn’t decreased much.

Even if Shien hadn’t intervened, with the goal of [Mirage], they would have eventually released Lilith anyway.

Under such circumstances, Shien had gone through such a dangerous situation, and his reward was just a glimpse of what was hidden under Airi’s pillow. And now Airi was using excuses to get out of it. Wasn’t that a bit much?

“Fortunately, it was me, and Beatrice herself was also awesome, successfully returning and calming Lilith down. Otherwise, if [Mirage] had succeeded, he would have used that small Warfighter to control thousands of evil beings, invading the Demon Realm and causing chaos. The Demon Race would have been in deep trouble.”

Shien stroked Lilith’s head and said nonchalantly, “But in the end, someone still wants to go back on their word. How heartbreaking. Don’t you think so, Lilith?”

Lilith, who had been quietly listening to their conversation in Shien’s arms, nodded repeatedly.

Although she didn’t know what was happening, nodding at this time was the right thing to do.

After all, what Shien just mentioned wasn’t completely unrelated to her.

“Mmm-hmm.”

Lilith nodded obediently.

And this undoubtedly made Airi even more speechless.

Seeing this, Shien delivered the final blow.

“Speaking of which, a certain Dragon Demon Princess didn’t do anything from beginning to end, except for intervening at the last moment, right?”

Shien almost pointed at Airi’s nose and accused her of not contributing.

“Who said that?” Airi finally couldn’t help but retort. “Didn’t I help you restrain Anima?”

“That was just restraining her.” Shien said, unmoved. “I risked my life fighting, but in the end… sigh…”

Shien began to sigh, as if complaining about the world.

“You…”

How could Airi not know that Shien was doing this on purpose?

And Airi couldn’t refute him.

The reward and the outcome were simply too unequal, putting Airi at a disadvantage from the very beginning.

“Sigh…”

Shien continued to sigh, as if he was about to add more fuel to the fire.

“Alright, stop pretending.” Airi couldn’t stand it anymore and said with exasperation and helplessness, “I’ll show you, alright?”

With these words, the helplessness and sighs on Shien’s face vanished.

“Hurry up, hurry up.”

Shien urged expectantly.

He was truly too curious. He didn’t know why Airi, Vivian, and the others had been so secretive before.

Airi glared at Shien resentfully, hesitated for a moment, then sighed as if giving up.

The next moment, Airi put down the pillow she had been holding.

Thus, a universe of infinite possibilities was revealed.

“Wow!”

Lilith, who had been quietly watching, let out a gasp of wonder.

“Pfft!”

Shien’s eyes widened instantly, and he couldn’t help but spit out a mouthful of saliva.

“I knew it…”

Airi’s voice was filled with annoyance.

Before her, standing tall and clearly visible to Shien and Lilith, pushing her clothes upwards, were…

“Th-th-th-this…!?”

Shien couldn’t believe his eyes.

Lilith’s face was full of curiosity, and she wanted to reach out and touch them, but Airi swatted her hand away.

Even Nadue, who had been secretly observing, covered her mouth, looking at Airi’s chest with a stunned expression.

They were so big!?

“So you’re a loli with giant…?”

Shien couldn’t help but want to say something, but Airi stopped him.

“Bang!”

Airi’s small fist punched Shien hard in the chest, making him cry out in pain and fall back onto the bed.

Lilith exclaimed and also fell onto the bed.

As for Airi, she had already jumped off Shien.

“That’s why I hate people seeing them!”

Airi gritted her teeth and immediately picked up the pillow, holding it in front of her.

“Don’t!”

Shien clutched his chest and subconsciously shouted, not knowing what he was trying to stop.

His heartbroken appearance made Airi speechless.

“Men…”

Airi turned away disdainfully.

Lilith glanced at the departing Airi, then at Shien, who was lying on the bed clutching his chest. After a moment, she actually abandoned Shien, whom she had been clinging to, and toddled towards Airi.

Clearly, this little girl’s curiosity was piqued, and she wanted to study Airi’s unscientific figure.

Shien was still reminiscing about what he had just seen.

“How could this be…?”

Shien seemed unable to let it go.

Not only Shien, but even Nadue, who had been secretly observing, looked as if she had seen a ghost.

After dealing with the Dragon Demon for so many years, she had no idea that this little girl was hiding such a big dream.

They were even bigger than hers!

“How did that Dragon Demon develop like that?”

Nadue was almost in despair.

Not only Nadue, but even Shien couldn’t quite comprehend it.

However…

“Hee hee… hee hee hee…”

After a while, Shien couldn’t help but giggle foolishly.

Because he finally realized.

He had struck gold.

He originally thought she was just a bronze-level little girl, but she turned out to be a hidden king.

“Such a figure, what a waste to hide it.”

Almost without thinking, and not realizing anything was wrong, Shien made up his mind.

“I have to find a way to see more.”

How could he not indulge in such a feast for the eyes?

Shien began to think seriously.

“This Hero…”

Nadue naturally saw all this and knew what Shien was thinking, feeling both speechless and helpless.

It was only then that Nadue confirmed one thing.

Anima’s words.

“She’s right. This Hero is truly different from those in the past.”

Not only was his personality completely different, but his environment and relationships were also completely unusual.

Looking at Shien sitting on the bed, deep in thought, Nadue recalled the scene of Airi and Lilith sitting in his arms without any resistance.

A Demon Lord and a goddess comparable to a Demon Lord, both completely unguarded against this Hero, even extremely trusting, dependent, and affectionate towards him. It truly opened Nadue’s eyes.

Perhaps…

“The long-standing animosity between the Divine Race and the Demon Race might be completely eliminated thanks to this Hero.”

At that time, true peace would finally arrive, right?

Thinking of this, Nadue couldn’t help but feel a sense of anticipation.

“Let me see what kind of impact you, from another world, will have on this era where the war has already ended.”

Nadue’s beautiful eyes curved into crescents, a lovely sight.

Shien, completely oblivious, was still lost in his thoughts.
