The Devil Does Not Need to Be Defeated

Chapter 418: Poaching My Dragon?

The next day, early morning.

When Shien woke up from his familiar bed, just like the past few days, the beautiful maid was gone.

Shien felt a sense of melancholy.

“From now on, there will be no more lovely maid to wake me up, help me change clothes and brush my teeth, and even take care of a man’s morning needs.”

Melancholy, truly melancholy.

When you have it, you take it for granted. Only when you lose it do you realize you didn’t cherish it enough. How could others understand this feeling of emptiness?

Fortunately, having lost an all-purpose maid, heaven bestowed upon Shien an adorable little loli.

“Snore… snore…”

Lilith had somehow gotten into his bed again and was sleeping soundly, sucking her thumb, incredibly cute.

Looking at the adorable loli in his arms, the emptiness in Shien’s heart dissipated somewhat.

“At least, unlike in my past life, I don’t wake up with just a body pillow in my arms.”

As Shien thought this, he suddenly froze.

Wait…

“Did I only have a body pillow in my past life?”

Because of his reincarnation, the memories related to his past life experiences were gone, only knowledge and skills that wouldn’t affect this world remained at a common sense level. Therefore, Shien shouldn’t know about his past life situation.

This time, he might have unconsciously muttered something he had no memory of but had experienced.

However, that didn’t seem to be something to be happy about.

“…Is this hinting that I was a damn single dog in my past life?”

No wonder he had always felt that his ancestral skills were too proficient.

So, he truly only had his left and right hands for company in his past life?

“I’m crying…”

Shien missed Lucy a little.

“At least, in this life, I’m a winner envied by everyone, and even the most beautiful woman in the human world is my wife.”

Shien comforted himself and got out of bed.

“Mmm…”

Lilith seemed to be waking up, slightly raising her head, her eyes still closed, sleepy.

“Good girl, go back to sleep.”

Shien patted Lilith’s head and coaxed her softly, like he was coaxing his own daughter.

This was undoubtedly very effective.

Lilith seemed to feel at ease and went back to sleep comfortably.

Shien tucked Lilith in and left his room.

…

The Buztout mansion seemed to have regained some vitality since Shien’s return.

Before, when Shien wasn’t around, the members of Vivian’s squad would often go to the Adventurers’ Guild for missions, and with Lasha also gone, the mansion seemed a bit deserted. ᚱΆＮƟβĚ𝐒

Now that Shien was back, and he brought Lasha back with him, the Buztout mansion returned to its usual state.

Shien, stepping out of his room, found that the corridors and walls were spotlessly clean, sparkling as if all the tiles were brand new, making one hesitant to step on them and get them dirty.

“…Lasha’s work, right?”

Shien instantly saw through the truth.

In Shien’s mind, only Lasha could clean the house like this, making everything sparkle, as if all the tiles were brand new.

“When I came back yesterday, everything was normal…”

Only when Lasha was around would the house seem like a paradise, so unbelievable.

“It seems that although she’s no longer serving me, she’s still doing chores around the house.”

Judging from Lasha’s personality, she probably considered this as repayment for staying here.

Shien looked out the window in the corridor.

As expected, the garden outside was also filled with the fragrance of flowers and the chirping of birds. The plants and flower beds were trimmed into beautiful shapes like works of art, a breathtaking sight.

“Huh?”

As Shien admired the morning scenery, he suddenly became surprised.

Because he saw someone who shouldn’t be here.

“Is that Jacinta?”

Shien wasn’t sure.

The person he saw was Jacinta, one of the four executives under Airi, known as the Tyrant.

“What is he doing?”

Shien’s expression turned strange.

He saw Jacinta kneeling or crouching down before Yulin in the garden, talking non-stop.

Shien narrowed his eyes, quietly activated his [Concealment] skill, and approached the garden.

Behind him, Nadue, unnoticed, followed Shien, yawning, and walked out of the mansion.

…

Buztout Mansion, Garden.

Just as Shien saw, Jacinta was talking non-stop to Yulin, who was lying before him.

“Trust me, I’m definitely not lying to you.”

As Shien approached, he immediately heard Jacinta’s enthusiastic words, like a salesman, making him twitch his lips.

Jacinta didn’t notice Shien and continued his sales pitch.

“In the Demon Race, we dragons are also a very special existence. Only after being guided by the Dragon Demon Princess and walking the path of human transformation can we truly evolve and become stronger.”

“Look at me. Just like you, I was just a dragon in the past. Back then, I had no skills, no Unique Skills, and could only fight with my dragon breath and strong body. Although my level was high and I could crush the ants on the ground, when facing true experts, we powerful dragons were just their prey.”

“Throughout history, most heroes and great figures have slain dragons to make a name for themselves.”

“You’re strong now, but that’s only because you haven’t encountered a true enemy. Otherwise, you’ll just become their stepping stone to fame and fortune.”

“Human transformation! Only human transformation is the ultimate transcendence for our dragon race!”

“Your level is even higher than mine. Once you transform into a human, awaken your Unique Skill, you will become the strongest existence in the Demon Race, second only to the Six Demon Lords!”

“Come back to the Demon Realm with me. That’s the future you should choose!”

Jacinta spoke persuasively, his gestures exaggerated and his voice passionate as he got excited.

Jace and Liece, standing beside Jacinta, seemed touched by his fervent speech, wiping the corners of their eyes.

Shien exploded.

Jacinta, you…!

“I was wondering what you were doing. So, you’re poaching my dragon?”

Shien’s annoyed voice startled Jacinta and his two companions.

“It’s you?”

Jacinta finally noticed Shien, an awkward expression appearing on his face.

“Hmph.”

“Hmph.”

Jace and Liece, still disliking Shien, snorted coldly.

“Roar!”

Yulin, who had been lying there impatiently, suddenly lit up, raised her head, and roared at Shien with a wronged expression.

It was as if she was saying, “Master, look, he’s trying to seduce me.”

“Alright, it’s fine now.” Shien patted Yulin’s head, then looked at Jacinta with a smirk. “Poaching someone behind their back isn’t very ethical, is it, Master Jacinta?”

“Ahem, don’t say that.” Jacinta coughed dryly, but quickly regained his composure and chuckled. “As fellow members of the dragon race, I’m just offering some advice to a rare junior. Don’t misunderstand.”

Oh, such thick skin, worthy of a politician. He almost made Shien believe him.

“What are you doing here?”

Shien asked with annoyance.

“I’m naturally here to see my master.” Jacinta shrugged. “I heard that Master was away from the capital for a few days and his whereabouts were unknown. We were very worried, especially when we heard about the destruction of Cosmos in the Stalim Duchy. We almost thought it was Master who accidentally caused it.”

…How little trust did he have in his master?

“Fortunately, it seems to have nothing to do with my master. Although there was information about my master appearing there, since the Divine Race has clarified, my master’s suspicion has been cleared.”

Jacinta’s relieved tone made Shien look around.

Airi wasn’t here, so this guy’s life was spared.

If Airi knew that her subordinate always saw her as a troublemaker and a destroyer, she would be very unhappy, right?

Nadue, behind Shien, nodded repeatedly.

“That’s right, that’s the Dragon Demon.”

In Nadue’s opinion, this was the correct attitude and posture towards Airi.

Airi acted completely differently in front of Shien and in front of others.

Especially in the past, the Dragon Demon’s cruelty was well-known. It was understandable that her subordinates would worry about her causing trouble.

As soon as he heard that Airi was back, Jacinta immediately came over with his two attendants.

However, Jacinta also knew that Airi was probably still sleeping at this time, so he didn’t disturb her. Having nothing to do, he discovered Yulin and, moved by his love for talent, started to poach her.

“By the way, I haven’t congratulated you yet, Shien.” Jacinta said with a sigh, as if remembering something. “I didn’t expect that little adventurer I saw in the audience chamber would become the top candidate for that princess’s husband. She really favors you.”

“What?” Shien raised an eyebrow. “Are you also planning to compete with me, Master Jacinta?”

Before Jacinta could answer, his attendants spoke.

“Our master isn’t interested in humans.”

“That’s right, let alone a Hero candidate wielding a Holy Sword. Thinking that you can charm our master with just your looks is wishful thinking.”

Jace and Liece said disdainfully.

Jacinta didn’t deny his attendants’ words.

However…

“Compared to Princess Lucy, I’m more interested in Yulin by your side.” Jacinta said with a smile. “How about giving me a chance to pursue your mount, Shien?”

Shien almost stumbled.

“Roar!”

Yulin roared, her voice filled with disdain, like Jace and Liece, as if saying, “You want to pursue me? In your dreams.”

Jacinta ignored her and seemed even more enthusiastic.

This made Shien start to feel apprehensive.

Was this guy really planning to pursue his Yulin?

Oh my god! There’s a pervert here!
