The Conquerors Path

Chapter 923: Chapter 921-Getting Closer.

There was only silence in the whole room, my family kept hearing my side of the story, all of them sucked it in on what had happened, and each moment I could see the change of emotions taking place in all of them whenever the story kept having its changes, none of them were liking this situation and they wanted to speak up but they stayed quiet, waiting for the moment to speak when it was all over.

”....And just like that, I said to her that I needed some more space before I could decide anything”

As my final words ended, the situation came with a strange sense of quietness, I could feel the suffocating silence all over the place, and as always when I said the story I had become the true victim that was suffering, the story went with the simple flow toward how I left Scarlet how she was but towards the other parts I changed some things.

I made it like that such that I had tried to reject Scarlet but whenever I did she got her head blown off and had strangely implied that it wouldn’t be good for me or my family if I were to reject her, the story had changed more towards she becoming the villain forcing me to date her, the same flow towards which I had said Mira.

Thus it kept flowing like that, till the part of me saying that no kissing or anything took place, just some hand holding yet the fact that Scarlet was pushing for more, she wanting to meet my family, make everything official and all, and I pushing it back for now, keeping things in check, and now had taken a break in the form of wanting to think but not having a lot of time.

”It was hard, she tried to keep me under her surveillance all the time, she wanted to know everything about me and would get explosive even if I took a small meeting with a girl in a closed-off room, her nature was turning more controlling, and I had no way to get rid of her off”

As I said this, my expression turned frustrated.

”I always wanted to ask for help but I couldn’t risk Scarlet knowing my true feelings or plans, so I had to hold it in, it’s only recently I found a way around her keeping an eye on me and spoke the truth to aunt Mira and all of you, cause I had promised you all no more secrets and that we shall face everything together”

My words bringing only a sense of pain towards my family but they held it in, as Elda pressed herself harder to me and Nora on my left held my hand harder, while my mother Grace on the right too pressed herself harder against me, they were showing their support towards me, that they were with me through it all.

”It’s the same when we go towards that engagement with Olivia, taking out the fact that I don’t like her, there is still the added problem that engaging me with anyone would just be a big death sentence....”

Stopping my sentence here, I just sat in silence, taking in the warmth all around, and as that warmth filled me up, the first one to surprisingly speak was the gentle Elda.

”I will kill her, we will kill her”

Her words surprising everyone around even me for a moment as I brought down my head to look at Elda, looking at me and for the first time I could see the killing intent flowing through her eyes, the desire and rage in them not small at all and definitely not matching for the very gentle Elda that has this atmosphere around her that screams calm and peace.

”Yes, we will make her suffer”

Nora added here, voice a bit hoarse and her eyes red and blazing, filled with a sense of so much rage and helplessness, I could detect that she felt hopeless but wasn’t giving it up at all, I smiled at it, as I moved forward placing kisses on both the forehead of Elda and Nora as I replied.

”Yes, we will, but I have given it a lot of thought. She wants my love, maybe we can use her too”

My words made my mother look more sternly at me as she asked.

”Will you be able to do that to someone?”

She, having lived the vast life of politics she has, quickly saw the opening she needed and understood the inner depths of what I was proposing, a small, cruel smile filled with melancholy filled my face as I replied.

”She threatened you all to me, and just for that, I am willing to do something I would never do and manipulate her like that”

[Bullshit!... I invoke the god of bullshit and say bullshit!]

’Shut up! And stay down!’

Shooting down the system, I focused back more towards my mother and my sisters as my eyes turned more vicious and dangerous,

”There is one who will be able to keep her in check, the dragon princess Celestinia. If we get her to help us, then we can make the change”

My words made my sisters thoughtful, while Grace already seemed to be running through the plans, to which Nora suddenly asked.

”Would it even work? Isn’t that bitch, the princess’s best friend?”

To which I smiled, one filled with mischief and danger as I replied.

”The trip I took now wasn’t for some simple reason; I went to the dwarves to get some special artefacts that I needed, and some information that will help us get the dragon princess on our side”

My words ignited hope in my family, as my mother asked with a serious expression.

”What’s it?”

To which I shook my head as I replied.

”I made a contract, so I can’t say it and I have yet to verify the info, so I am not sure, though even if I did, it would be a long and hard battle up ahead before I can push away Scarlet, but it’s something I will do, for I already have all I need”

My words ignited with power as I pulled Nora and Elda into a deeper hug, hugging them tightly to me while giving my mother Grace a small wink, she understanding the reason as she too smiled at it, the overall atmosphere has turned a little lighter as the situation had unraveled into something better and it’s then that Elda suddenly asked.

”Why did the royal dwarven family call you out?”

To this, a wry smile came to my face as I responded.

”To give a warning”

”A warning?”

My mother asked in a dangerous tone, her eyes narrowing, to which I, shrugging my shoulders, spoke.

”Apparently, news had spread that I am close to Nathalia, and the royal family didn’t like that. They seem really protective of her, so I just told them that I am just close to her because of Elda, and nothing is going on. After I proved that, things settled down and turned for the better”

My words made Elda frown, a certain dark emotion going through her which I caught it and right now wasn’t the time to deal with it as I let Elda flow in her thoughts as I leaned back snugly against the sofa, speaking.

”I know that seems stupid to just travel for that, and a talk would have done well, but I also had some tasks to complete with the royal queen Eleanara”

Speaking here, I turned quiet, a small smile curving into my lips, taking in the suspension in the air I spoke.

”I got a guardianship from Queen Eleanara”

”....”

”...”

”...”

The words just lay there in the air, seemingly sounding like nothing special, until the truth finally started to settle in, the eyes widening of my mother, the head blazing of my sister Nora, and even the surprise blowing up in Elda. I savoured all those emotions as everything blasted forth.

”Is this a joke!?”

”Not possible!”

”Huh....”

The reactions were in the order of my mother, Nora and then Elda, Elda itself seemingly still focused more towards the Nathalia issue as I chuckled, which seemingly irritated Nora as she pinched my side a bit as she spoke.

”Don’t laugh! Just tell us more!”

And I could see that was the same sentiment shared by my mother, thus smiling, I slowly patted the head of Elda, which melted into my embrace, she seemingly fully enveloped in my body as I took a deep breath and spoke.

”The situation is from a secret realm I conquered during my travels, the realm contained some several amazing information that was useful for the queen, and I was instructed in giving that info to her directly and thus when I got the chance I did, and when we did, we got to talking and found out we had several similarities and such, by the end of it before I knew, the queen was surprising me and said she wanted to be my guardian”

The words were compiled into a small story, but the gist of it was properly conveyed. Even then, it was hard for everyone to simply take in the fact, for this was indeed a big, big thing.
