Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1019: Chapter 813: The Approaching Summer Solstice Festival

The latter stage construction of the half-plane is indeed quite troublesome... but in any case, Hill doesn’t need to do it himself.

Both he and Fran have mobile Magic Towers. It’s just that there was no need for them to be released before... now, it’s quite fitting.

Compared to the constrained Agleya, Fran certainly prefers being in the half-plane: he still has many books left unread and many magic items that haven’t gone through a round of refining!

Although Hill’s Floating Castle’s defenses are considered tight, the presence of powerful Divine Powers nearby made Fran entirely unwilling to fully showcase his true strength... the deities of this world are really much more unscrupulous than those in Teraxil.

Though he knows that Hill has never instructed him to be cautious while working in the castle, it implies that his grandson has absolute confidence that even if Fran causes some big event, Hill can solve it.

But always cautious Fran still abandoned those more particular Alchemy experiments, only doing some common goods... he always remembered what Hill said about the half-plane.

It’s only half a year’s time; reading books and casually making small things would suffice.

Fran carefully checked Hill’s two studies and found that Hill placed most of the original books in the Floating Castle, while the copied and transcribed books were placed in the Magic Tower within the Otherworldly Whale.

After pondering for a while, Fran confirmed that Hill intended to avoid bringing some things from Toril away as much as possible, especially those historic books, none of which were placed in the Magic Tower by Hill.

Fran himself also had quite a few treasures, but Hill hadn’t mentioned needing to be cautious about these matters... so, does it still relate to the deities?

What mages can do, someone like Hill with divinity cannot?

He quietly packed his things and returned to the half-plane, deciding not to give Hill those more precious resources until they left Toril.

There will always be opportunities in the future... Fran didn’t think that he and Hill would stay in this world for too long... this place is also too messy.

Hill honestly put the Magic Ballista into his mobile Magic Tower, then amidst a sunny and pleasant atmosphere began his frenetic experiments clutching the soil... the only thing that disturbed him was Vila’s call.

Purwell soared above the high clouds; it wasn’t an easy feat to fly up with those delicate, almost silk-like transparent fairy wings. By the time Hill, notified by the Little Whale, appeared in the Magic Tower inside the Otherworldly Whale, Vila had just reached the doorway.

This Little Fairy finally, after a lengthy two-month negotiation, reached an agreement with the Temporal Artifact and William, who was hidden on the opposite side of the Temporal Artifact... Coron had no interest in this matter at all and didn’t want to participate.

Hill, however, thought that he simply didn’t want to get entangled with Amanata... for the laid-back Elf Deity System, a deity like Amanata, who is almost similar to one with obsessive-compulsive disorder, is truly a nuisance... it’s best never to be acquainted, not knowing each other even when passing by.

William was also well aware of Amanata’s troublesome aspects, which is why he placed the Undead Tribe entirely in the position of mercenaries... whether it was in the battles in Agleya or the advances towards the Underdark, the Undead Tribe had actually been the main character.

In other words, they were always commanded by William and the Temporal Artifact; Hill just lent a hand as the domain master, but was not the issuer of such large-scale missions.

But this time, everything concerning the Undead Tribe had to prioritize Vila... if she wants to save nature at Kalinsan, of course, there’s no problem, but if Vila doesn’t think to rescue the humans at Kalinsan, then the Undead Tribe will only choose self-preservation... as long as those Air God Creatures and Fire God Beasts don’t lose their minds and attack the Undead Tribe, they would basically not take the initiative to advance.

In this way, if Amanata’s Holy Grail wants to use the Undead Tribe to deal with the divine beast army, it would inevitably require more command over Vila... after many such instances, the deities outside observing Toril Land would naturally understand what’s going on.

The interference of outsider deities in Toril is different from local deities using others for resurrection... any dissatisfaction should be directed at Amanata.

In Toril, those hired just need to complete the task, with no need for other responsibilities... if that weren’t the case, how could AO invite so many outsiders?

Hill couldn’t help but laugh: If that’s the case, when Amanata resurrects, Vila’s chance for freedom would be much easier... the favor of Amanata’s Holy Grail for saving her isn’t so heavy as to make Vila unable to escape for eternity.

Although William’s aim was to prevent the Undead Tribe from becoming overly entangled in the conflict among the Toril Gods, it also gave Vila a good ending... after knowing this, even though Hill was more worried about Vila’s safety, he was still much happier.

Then he prepared some protective items for Vila and earnestly urged her never to take off her crown.

The fact that Amanata’s enemies might target Vila was something he couldn’t say outright, so Hill could only warn her to guard against the sneak attacks of Sorrowful and Angry Fairies and divine beasts.

The Little Flower Fairy Queen agreed happily, but probably didn’t give it much thought... She quickly immersed herself in the preparations for the Summer Solstice Festival.

She even specifically applied to Hill for the remodeling rights of Green Forest... Many Little Fairies didn’t have time to participate in the Spring Festival, but for the most important Summer Solstice Festival, there will be no Toril Little Fairies who would want to miss it.

For them, this is truly the most glorious moment of a fairy’s life, and most importantly... the Fairy Court has distanced itself from Toril, what will happen to their matchmaking event? Do they have to foolishly wait for who knows how many years or decades for the Joyous Court to reopen the Gate of Nature?

The Little Fairy shook her head, the Little Fairy couldn’t do it.

So, even knowing that Vila is splitting the Shady Royal Court with her actions, these varied Little Fairies still pretended as if nothing happened and rushed to Agleya.

As there were so many Little Fairies, with no plans to pledge allegiance to Agleya, Hill couldn’t possibly allow them into the city... Such creatures are endearing when manageable, but criminals when not.

As long as they don’t enter Agleya, Hill readily agreed to lend Green Forest to them.

The Little Fairies quickly began decorating a clearing deep in the forest and started setting up their venue.

The closest Little Flower Fairies to Vila started rehearsing songs and dances day and night in the rooftop garden... When Hill occasionally went to see them, he found Celene very interested in their dance... This is the opening performance of the Summer Solstice Festival, which traditionally narrates the history of various generations of Fairy Queens starting with the most ancient, the Primordial Queen of Light.

For Celene, these were realities she personally witnessed, so as a Maiden of the Moon during the performance, she straightforwardly shared many overly realistic histories... The Little Fairies were brought to tears, struck by the harsh truths, and struggling to continue their praise-filled dance.

Called by Vila to assist, Hill could only ask Lady Celene to show mercy while telling these Little Flower Fairies they could praise the beauty and wisdom of the Little Fairy Queen, as there absolutely wouldn’t be any falsehoods in that.

After all, if one’s intelligence is inadequate, the outcome might be like the end of the Queen of Sorrow and Rage... the Court of Sorrow and Rage didn’t begin with her.

Vila, likely considering the numerous divine presences observing from Hill’s side, stealthily informed those Little Fairies attending the Summer Solstice Festival that during their telling of touching, poignant tales and singing beautifully worded poems and songs, they should refrain from extolling the greatness of the Little Fairy Queen and instead, praise nature more.

Vila understands well that she hasn’t achieved any accomplishments... those tens of thousands of years ago events do not hold value for present-day glorification.

According to the Little Fairies’ habit, ascribing the accomplishments of other deities to their own queen isn’t suitable to do in places visible to the outside world... in the Joyous Court, of course, it’s irrelevant, since it’s merely Little Fairies entertaining themselves.

This cannot be done at Agleya... not to mention the ever-present Celene, and Shaer who occasionally comes to quarrel with her sister, even Coron and the Elf Deity System might watch this celebration.

Vila, holding her delicate Flower Staff, sat atop the Windmill Jasmine she invited to assist, gravely pondering: she mustn’t make such foolish mistakes; if she did, she wouldn’t only lose face for herself but also for Hill!

She is determined to be a proper queen entirely different from Titania! Starting from this Summer Solstice Festival, she must establish regulations... Queen Vila’s Four Seasons Festival shall primarily celebrate nature from now on.

Unless one day, she has her own Royal Court... then it will be different.

The Little Fairy, full of yearning, fantasized for a moment, then sighed softly... Royal Courts are easy to build, even if eventually, she still doesn’t wish to stay in Kalinsan, Agleya has sufficient space to construct an ample Royal Court... no matter how fancifully the Little Fairies speak, even if hundreds of thousands live together, they cannot take over such a vast place like Green Forest... however, having a few hundred followers would be commendable.

Yet, lifting and sending the Royal Court to the Stellar Realm to become a true Divine Kingdom is exceedingly challenging; Titania accomplished this with the help of the mischievous deity from the Elf Deity System back then, but for her, it is practically impossible.

Even deities with good relationships with Hill wouldn’t easily aid her... Splitting a God System is something few deities would assist with, unless from the Evil Faction.

If she remains in Toril, it’s unlikely anyone would comment, but if she also aims for the Royal Court to become a Divine Kingdom... even if Hill wishes to help her, he would be blocked by All Gods... that would require her to confront Titania directly.

Her strength is not weak, but wanting to contest with Titania, she’d have to amass several millennia of power... anyway, on the ground, Titania can’t deal with her!

Vila gently brushed aside that wishful thinking... she learned many things from Hill, and the most important one is managing oneself first.

The future is beautiful, but it needs to be approached step by step.
