Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1010: Chapter 805: The Fate of the Dilo Dwarves

Fortunately, neither Shaer nor William could sense Hill’s silent complaints... so Agleya remained peaceful.

The Undead Tribe, blocked by the powerful defensive barrier, was not in a hurry. They would never become anxious because of a temporary setback in battle.

In the world of the Undead Tribe, clearing the field before facing a boss is just routine! Before clearing the field, you might even have to complete some tasks, or search for traps and mechanisms. Making a wrong move and having to retreat is something everyone is accustomed to.

Hence, the Undead Tribe’s battles always have a mysterious calmness. You do your thing, and I do mine... as long as I don’t die, you are the one who will surely die.

So even though the Dilo Dwarves elders kept contacting the divine artifact hidden at the bottom of the volcano to replenish the defensive shield, the Undead Tribe simply started using various spells... especially the arrows that flew everywhere without ceasing.

The Undead Tribe was actually quite happy to encounter a combat scenario where they didn’t need to consider defense. Not worrying about accuracy, for them, was like a feast... most of them squandered their mana with pleasure.

Although the Paladins were still standing in the front row wearing armor... that was just to guard against sneak attacks from the Dilo Dwarves. In reality, the cheval-de-frise and the defensive barrier made close-quarter combat impossible.

So, apart from those in long-range archer professions, even classes like Swordsmen, warriors, and Knights joyfully took out their rarely-used longbows and shot skywards with effort.

Although the long battle was boring, the Dilo Dwarves were growing more and more anxious... the evil divine artifact would not expend its power to help them, so the energy to replenish the defensive shield actually all came from the magic books in their hands.

If it weren’t for knowing that the Undead Tribe and their master were mortal enemies, and that if they fell into the enemies’ hands, the most likely outcome would be destruction by methods unique to the Kind Alignment; the divine artifact might have required them to expend even more energy.

But the Dilo Dwarves were always arrogant, always believing that the divine artifact used by their deities was invincible in the world. So they never thought that the energy they provided to the divine artifact wouldn’t withstand such frightening consumption.

The Dilo Dwarves’ elders were ashen faced, the deep black glow on their magic books had become very dim. At this rate, these magic books that have been inherited for tens of thousands of years might be destroyed in their hands.

The Dilo Dwarves were extremely puzzled; why did the elves standing opposite them seem to have endless mana... Clearly, both were creatures using spell-like abilities, clearly their main god was the deity with the most magical power, so why were they being severely suppressed in magic power!

The magic projectiles in their magic wands were already exhausted... although the Dilo Dwarves were skilled at crafting these magical tools, it didn’t mean they had sufficient materials to create those wands... now, most Dilo Dwarves magicians could only clutch short crossbows awkwardly, their range was inadequate.

Only a few magicians who retained their wits sat on the ground and began to earnestly make bows and arrows, while the rest looked up blankly at the Defensive Magic Shield above them getting bombarded by wave after wave of high-level spells.

The Undead Tribe could squander mana like this, of course, because they took potions!

Being the final battle, the Undead Tribe would obviously not save the mana potions in their bags anymore... anyone who hasn’t used a single bottle by the time they return is someone who truly wasted their money.

However, even if they didn’t consume mana potions, the auto recovery of their mana was enough to deal with these Dilo Dwarves... Those guys completely underestimated the Undead Tribe’s combat power, despite just having defeated the powerful Zholar Allied Forces!

Even if the Dilo Dwarves didn’t know about these strange elves’ achievements in the surface world, they should at least know how miserably the Zholar Elves, who had once chased them all over the place, died at the hands of the Undead Tribe!

But the Dilo Dwarves’ performance clearly showed they thought... the Undead Tribe simply hadn’t encountered the real Zholar Great Army, at most, it was only some minor family they dealt with.

Otherwise, they definitely wouldn’t confront the Undead Tribe so openly... the Dilo Dwarves were actually quite adept at ambushes, especially Shadow Stalkers and Sun Warriors, their small bodies were easy to hide.

But the elders were reluctant to hand the combat over to the warriors because that would mean handing over command to the Clan Leader... The Clan Leader was the military commander of the Dilo Dwarves, never these so-called magic experts holding magic wands and books.

And for these elders, once power was handed over, it would never be reclaimed... the dwarves’ power structure was extremely simple, once a king, always a king.

So relying on the main god’s divine artifact... every elder thought that as long as they demonstrated incredible strength, this divine artifact would ultimately belong to him... the Dilo Dwarves chose to confront the Undead Tribe head-on.

It could be that most of Dilinca’s spells were stolen from the Soul Sucking Monster’s deity, he really loved brainwashing... This magic power, originating from Dilinca’s magical nature, made the Dilo Dwarves inherently crafty, but they always suffered defeat due to excessive arrogance, and no one ever thought the reason for their failure was their own conceit... they always believed it was because they lacked reverence, hence abandoned by Dilinca.

But in reality, it was just that Dilinca set the goals too high, even he couldn’t achieve them, yet these obstinate Dilo Dwarves simply couldn’t conceive this point... their cruel main deity’s greatest ability is to scapegoat when all dreams are shattered, the previous one was his not-too-bright, already insane twin brother.

”Snow Cloud Peak” roared suddenly, ”Light Mages! Prepare the Light Sphere!”

He also noticed that the magic books’ light had faded... but the commander seemed unwilling to wait for the defensive shield to extinguish on its own.

”3, 2, 1 launch! Very good... to actually be able to release together, very well done.” Watching the spell orbs fly through the sky and explode like fireworks, illuminating the areas shrouded in darkness as if it were daytime, ’Snow Cloud Peak’ smiled with satisfaction, ”Alright, Space-Time Warlock, Dragons ready! 3, 2, 1, launch!”

Tens of thousands of colorless, transparent Space-Time Dragons directly merged into the white flames, bursting open the gray-black defensive shield amidst the panicked cries of the Dilo Dwarves.

”No! My master! Don’t!”

”Spare us!”

”Ah! Help!”

The dwarves’ cries for help suddenly halted, as the sounds from the opposite side disappeared simultaneously... the group attack spells of the Undead Tribe, though ongoing, couldn’t possibly kill them all at once.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ made a decisive shout: ”Light Mages, Fire Element Mages, free casting! Use your fastest speed!”

Fire Element Mages quickly habitually threw out a large number of fire walls... this spell had the shortest casting time for them.

While some Light Mages also used Scorching Rays directly aimed at the opposite side, more simply didn’t know which spell to use, straightforwardly choosing to explode another light sphere.

Then the Undead Tribe regretted it... all the Dilo Dwarves on the opposite side turned into dried corpses drained of blood.

From top to bottom, none spared, their small bodies shriveled up into shrimp balls.

Hill couldn’t help but frown... this group of Dilo Dwarves dared to bind all their tribe’s life force with the evil divine artifact!

No wonder so many magicians appeared... the Dilo Dwarves offered their souls to the artifact, which in return gave part of its power to these... sacrifices.

Though artifacts can similarly distribute their power, they’re not deities, every use requires strong soul power... kind and neutral artifacts bear some of the pressure themselves, but evil artifacts won’t, when soul power is insufficient, they naturally absorb life energy to replenish their consumption.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ frowned at the tragedy before him, directly took out an oil painting from his bag and handed it to ’Rain Falling on Mortal Dust’ beside him: ”Now! Everyone! Use your strongest power to attack the volcano ahead!”

Most of the Undead Tribe controlled their urge to bend over and vomit, indiscriminately unleashing their ultimate moves towards the front.

A peculiar sense of anger made many people accurately release their spells for the first time.

With deafening sounds, the volcano’s mouth was blown to pieces, a beam of black light swiftly shot towards the distance... a golden pillar of light suddenly burst ahead of the black light... unprepared, the black light plunged into the golden solar ray, emitting a piercing screech.

A severed hand fell out from a gray, white, and black bag, straight towards the ground, finally dropping into the fractured volcano crater.

Hill was startled... there was a peculiar eye on that severed hand!

It’s... Vikna’s Magical Eye Palm!

No wonder the Dilo Dwarves were annihilated, this set of divine artifact always absorbs all the user’s life force once it leaves, eventually turning them into dried corpses.

As one of the most powerful and evil mages of all time, High-Level Lich Vikna had potent forces remaining in his severed hand and eye after deifying... though it’s unknown how Dilinca acquired this artifact set, that strange bag should be modified from Dilinca’s robe.

This guy dared not wear Vikna’s Magical Eye Palm himself, but was reluctant to not use it, thus attempting to suppress it with his own artifact... given he even sacrificed his artifact robe, perhaps he had hoped to succeed... alas, his fate was unfortunate, directly encountering a world collapse.

Though Scorching Ray didn’t destroy Vikna’s Magical Eye Palm, the bag modified from Dilinca’s robe seems to have shattered... really don’t know how Dilinca has the audacity to boast as the strongest evil mage above and below.

The Undead Tribe gathered around the broken hole to look down, that strange severed palm still weakly emitted black light above the magma below.
