Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 45: Chapter 45 Birdman

”What’s going on?”

Yang Xiao asked.

Chen Fei and the others shook their heads, while Feifei said:

”If I’m not mistaken, Huang Wen was sleeping here, so how did she turn into a bird? The boss was right, she is a bird person.”

As they spoke, the blue peacock suddenly transformed back into Huang Wen.

”You’re the bird, your whole family are birds, your whole family are bird people! I’m clearly a peacock, alright? A peacock, do you know? The king of all birds!”

Huang Wen rattled off her words like a machine gun, getting a bit emotional.

Feifei paused for a moment, then timidly asked:

”But isn’t the king of all birds still a bird?”

Huang Wen rolled her eyes at Feifei in anger,

”Feifei, I don’t want to talk to you anymore.”

Everyone burst into laughter.

Yang Xiao said:

”Huang Wen, congratulations, you’ve finally completed your mutation. Focus your consciousness and check the information in your mind to see what special abilities your beast soul has.”

Upon hearing this, Huang Wen immediately closed her eyes slightly, focused inward, and after a moment, opened her eyes excitedly and said:

”I can fly!”

Fly?

Everyone stared at Huang Wen in amazement. Among the more than thirty girls, it seemed that only Huang Wen had this special ability so far.

Yang Xiao and the others walked out of the tent and onto the field. Huang Wen concentrated her consciousness, instantaneously transforming into a gigantic blue peacock, spread her wings, and shot into the sky, reaching about ten meters in height.

Huang Wen discovered that her Genetic Data System had activated, with Strength at 1, Agility at 5, Defense at 1, Wisdom at 1, and Flight Level at 1.

Then, she was thrilled to see a line of text under the Skill Cultivation Method:

Feather Arrow, Level 1.

Huang Wen focused her consciousness and activated her Feather Arrow skill. A twenty-centimeter long blue feather fell off her body and shot forward with a whoosh.

Huang Wen was overjoyed and continuously launched several Feather Arrows forward.

Yang Xiao and the others on the ground watched in amazement.

Moments later, Huang Wen descended from the sky and shouted excitedly:

”I’ve finally mutated, I can fly now, and I have an attack skill...”

Huang Wen had been depressed for a while, watching her sisters mutate one by one and gain various special attack abilities, while she remained an ordinary person, unable to participate in Yang Xiao’s various hunts for mutated creatures, which made her feel very uncomfortable.

Now that she had suddenly mutated and gained the special abilities of flight and Feather Arrow, she was overjoyed.

Chen Fei and the others were also happy for Huang Wen, and when she landed, they all rushed up to congratulate her.

Huang Wen walked up to Yang Xiao, tears in her eyes as she looked at him.

Yang Xiao smiled slightly and opened his arms, prompting Huang Wen to rush forward and tightly embrace him.

”Boss, thank you!”

Huang Wen said as tears rolled down her face.

Yang Xiao patted Huang Wen’s shoulder and said with a smile:

”You’ve completed your mutation, you should be happy. From now on, you can soar across the blue sky.”

”Mm!”

”Starting today, everyone will team up to go to Biyun Mountain and hunt mutated creatures. Xiao Zhe and the others began climbing Biyun Mountain yesterday, where the mutated creatures are particularly abundant.”

After breakfast, everyone tidied up the camp a bit. Aside from taking food with them, the rest was not of much value.

The group walked down a road leading from the academy to Biyun Mountain. Since Xiao Zhe led a group forward by dozens of meters yesterday, the dense fog on this mountain road had been pushed back.

As they walked along the mountain path, seeing the light blue fog on both sides, it felt as if they were walking through a mysterious space-time tunnel.

”Huang Wen, transform and fly in the air to take on a lookout task. Be on alert for mutated birds in the sky. If you encounter birds you can’t defeat, don’t stay and fight. Come down immediately, and we’ll fight together. Our goal today is the ponds at the foot of Biyun Mountain, which are open and suitable for team battles.”

Huang Wen nodded, transformed into a massive Blue Peacock with a whoosh, and flew about ten meters high in the air, keeping a certain distance from everyone as she moved forward slowly.

Yang Xiao, Dai Yun, Chen Fei, Chen Lu, and Feifei led the way, with the other girls following behind.

The first encounter was with a dozen fist-sized ants, which Yang Xiao didn’t bother to fight, leaving Dai Yun to train the newcomers while he continued on with Chen Fei and the others.

On the way, they also encountered two mutated giant frogs, which Chen Fei and Chen Lu led the way in tackling to train the newcomers.

Along the way, there were various mutated small animals. Yang Xiao allowed Chen Fei and her experienced group to train the newcomers. Initially, the newcomers were a bit frightened, but they gradually got used to it, and later, whenever they saw any mutated creature, they would charge with a shout. With all sorts of skills, steel pipes, and bricks in hand, the battles were quickly resolved.

After half an hour of this kind of fighting, they arrived near the pond. Ahead, the path was blocked by dense fog, indicating that Xiao Zhe and his team had only fought to this point yesterday.

High in the air, Huang Wen suddenly shouted:

”Boss, be careful. There’s a black cloud coming your way, I don’t know what it is.”

Upon hearing this, Yang Xiao immediately told everyone to prepare for battle.

”Buzz, buzz...”

A buzzing sound approached from afar, and Yang Xiao looked up to see a swarm of mutated mosquitoes, each larger than his palm.

”Get ready!”

Yang Xiao shouted loudly.

With a whoosh, Huang Wen in the air fired a Feather Arrow, hitting a mosquito, which fell with a thud, seemingly dropping a Genetic Fragment.

One Feather Arrow after another shot down rapidly, and within moments, dozens of mosquitoes had been shot down.

However, the swarm, numbering a couple hundred, continued to advance in waves toward Yang Xiao and his team. As they drew closer, Yang Xiao gave a shout, and Chen Fei and the others launched an attack.

Besides Chen Fei’s Lightning, Chen Lu’s Ice Ball, Yang Xiao’s team also had 5 people awakened with elemental skills of Lightning, Ice Ball, Fireball, and Wind Blade.

Instantly, a variety of elemental attacks were launched; particularly, Fireball and Lightning were especially effective against these mutated mosquitoes.
