Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 44: Chapter 44 Blue Peacock

Yang Xiao was the first among the over two thousand survivors at Kongming Academy to complete the gene mutation and activate the Genetic Data System. Moreover, he learned the Golden Bee Swordsmanship. Given the optimization level of his current genetic data, he could easily take on ten opponents at once.

Everyone was shocked by the fierce and deadly ease with which Yang Xiao killed three people in an instant.

Huang Wen and the others were naturally overwhelmed with excitement, feeling an urge to rush up and hug Yang Xiao. Fortunately, they knew it was a critical moment and tried their best to control their impulse, otherwise, they would be scolded by Yang Xiao again.

Yang Xiao glanced at the dozen youths kneeling on the ground and said coldly:

”I’ll spare your lives this time. Remember, if you dare to cause trouble here again, I won’t let a single one of you go, kill without mercy!”

”Yes, yes, thank you, Brother Yang, for sparing our lives!”

The dozen youths kneeling on the ground, all older than Yang Xiao by two or three years, couldn’t help but call him Brother Yang, continuously kowtowing with trembling voices.

”Take the bodies of your companions and get lost!”

With a low shout from Yang Xiao, the crowd immediately scrambled to their feet, carrying away the bodies of Zhai Tao, Di Huan, and others in haste.

Once the group left, the onlookers also dispersed.

Xiao Zhe and Xu Hua exchanged a glance, feeling awkward, and walked away with their heads down.

”Xiao Zhe,”

Yang Xiao noticed Xiao Zhe in the crowd and suddenly called out.

Xiao Zhe and Xu Hua heard this, turned around with forced smiles:

”Yang Xiao, I heard someone was causing trouble here, so I came over to see if you needed help. Didn’t expect you’d already subdued them. I was just telling Xu Hua, who the hell is tired of living, daring to cause trouble with Yang Xiao? I’ve long wanted to deal with that brat Zhai Tao...”

Yang Xiao looked at Xiao Zhe and said blandly:

”Xiao Zhe, I’m always fair. Show gratitude for a small favor, repay it abundantly. But, if someone wants to see me make a fool of myself, I would return the favor and watch theirs.”

After speaking, Yang Xiao couldn’t be bothered to see Xiao Zhe’s expression and turned to check on the injuries of Feifei and others.

Xiao Zhe wanted to explain something, but after thinking about it, said nothing and left with an embarrassed look.

Huang Wen and others rushed together, embracing each other eagerly.

Surrounded by a bunch of girls, Yang Xiao suddenly felt very happy. When he was unconscious, these dinosaur-level girls were fearless and vowed to protect him at all costs, and this emotion deeply moved him.

”I’m not fooling around with you guys; I have to find Gu Bo for some matters. By the way, those wasp larvae and honey, Huang Wen, Chen Fei, Chen Lu, Dai Yun, and Feifei, you guys should eat more, speed up the mutation process, that way no one will dare bully you in the future.”

...

Yang Xiao walked into the Genetic Store, where Gu Bo greeted him with a smile.

”Little lad, you’re awake? You look pretty good.”

”Heh, if I didn’t wake up, I might never wake up again.”

Yang Xiao was, of course, referring to how Zhai Tao almost killed him.

Gu Bo smiled gently and asked:

”Being the first to activate the Genetic Data System, it’s not so easy for you to die. Hmm, I’m curious about what Beast Soul you’ve awakened?”

Yang Xiao was taken aback and said:

”I didn’t awaken any Beast Soul?”

Upon hearing this, Gu Bo asked again, ”Then, what are the attribute indicators of your Genetic Data System?”

”Strength, Agility, Defense, and Wisdom, all four attributes are 5 points.”

”Five points?”

A look of surprise appeared on Gu Bo’s face.

Yang Xiao nodded, ”Is that strange?”

”Heh, there’s something you may not know. Generally, after people awaken the Genetic Data System, the four attributes are usually 1 point, at most not exceeding 3 points, and yet yours is 5 points right from the start. Isn’t that extraordinary?”

Hearing Gu Bo’s words, Yang Xiao seemed to understand a bit. No wonder his power and speed could crush Zhai Tao and others. It turns out his four genetic data points were much higher than others, coupled with that Golden Short Sword and the Primary Level cloth armor he purchased, his overall attribute value was much higher than others.

”Then why didn’t I awaken a Beast Soul?”

”That I’m not sure, not everyone awakens a Beast Soul. About half of the people don’t but can still activate the Genetic Data System. However, those without a Beast Soul can only enhance genetic attributes, and compared to those with a Beast Soul, their combat power is relatively lesser.”

Hearing this, Yang Xiao felt a chill in his heart.

”Does that mean I’m a low-functioning individual?”

”Normally, this is the case, but your situation is abnormal. Generally, for those without a Beast Soul, when they activate the Genetic Data System, all four attribute indicators are 1 point. Only those with a Beast Soul have 2 points or 3 points, and yet you started with 5 points, far surpassing those with Beast Souls, so your case is somewhat special.”

Yang Xiao talked with Gu Bo for a while longer and understood a bit. Those with Beast Souls find it relatively easier to enhance their genetic data and also possess certain special advantages.

For instance, Dai Yun’s Werewolf Beast Soul, under the same genetic data conditions, Dai Yun’s attack damage when using the Werewolf Beast Soul is naturally much higher than those without a Beast Soul.

Moreover, those with a Beast Soul can also trigger some special Skill Cultivation Methods.

For now, Yang Xiao had no time to deal with these matters. His main focus was on how to quickly boost his four genetic attribute data.

After Yang Xiao killed Zhai Tao, others in the school playground held him in awe, and no one dared to set their sights on Huang Wen and others again.

In the following days, Yang Xiao continued to take Chen Fei and others out to hunt Mutated Creatures, achieving substantial rewards.

Chen Fei, Chen Lu, Dai Yun, and Feifei finally achieved the complete awakening of their Beast Souls after consuming a large number of wasp larvae and other Mutated Creatures.

Dai Yun was now able to fully transform into a Werewolf, with all four genetic attribute points at 3.

Chen Fei and Chen Lu didn’t have Beast Souls, but they possessed innate Elemental Magic Skills. Although their Strength, Agility, and Defense were only 1 point, their Wisdom Attribute naturally began at 5 points.

Feifei’s awakening was of the Plant Type, possessing an innate vine spirit, with Strength 3, Agility 3, Defense 1, and Wisdom 1.

Feifei’s hair could extend directly over 10 meters, as hard as iron wire.

The other girls had also completed at least half of their gene mutation process.

Xiao Zhe, Xu Hua, and others also completed their mutations and activated their Genetic Data Systems.

Everyone’s range of activity gradually expanded, pushing the dense fog surrounding the campus beyond its bounds.

One morning, while Yang Xiao was in a deep sleep, he was suddenly awakened by a scream from a neighboring tent.

Yang Xiao sat up in bed, pulled aside the barrier between the two tents, and rushed over.

A massive blue peacock appeared before them.

Chen Fei, Feifei, and others looked at the Blue Peacock before them in terror, and it was Feifei who let out the scream.
