Super Gene Hunting Ground

Chapter 40: Chapter 40: Food Exchange

The ditch above was full of broken bricks and debris.

”Feifei, use your Magic Hair Divine Skill to move all these bricks.”

Despite her confusion, Feifei complied, and her thoughts instantly transpired. Her magic hair, like steel wire, burst forth, scooping up dozens of bricks from inside the gutter and, with a thunderous noise, flung them dozens of meters away.

Moments later, the hundreds of bricks inside the gutter were completely cleared by Feifei.

Yang Xiao watched Feifei’s now five meters long steel-like magic hair and couldn’t help but admire greatly.

”Boss, there’s a box.”

Feifei, spotting a box inside the gutter, exclaimed with surprise.

”Alright, pick it up and bring it back to the camp.”

Feifei’s magic hair curled around the box and brought it in front of her, carrying it in her hand, she asked:

”Boss, what treasures are these?”

”You’ll know once we get back to the camp.”

Upon their return to the camp, everyone saw that Feifei had brought back a large box and wondered what it was.

”Feifei, where did you get the box from?”

”Ask the boss; it belongs to the boss.”

Yang Xiao smiled, squatted down, tugged open the box’s zipper, and opened the box.

Then, everyone was stunned.

Salt-baked chicken legs, chicken wings, pig’s feet, beef jerky, chips, fried small fish, dried tofu, chips, biscuits, a whole box full of them.

Everyone’s eyes lit up and they swallowed.

Regarding food, naturally, these items tasted better, especially after experiencing several days of food scarcity, everyone missed the old days’ delicacies even more.

Compared to the meat of mutated creatures, this was truly a heavenly feast.

Huang Wen also took a while to recover her wits and looked at Yang Xiao:

”Boss, is this your hidden stash?”

Yang Xiao nodded and said:

”Huang Wen, I have a task for you, set aside ten packs of spicy fried fish and spicy dried tofu that we can use as spices for food later, distribute the rest to everyone.”

”Distribute?”

Huang Wen was taken aback, this was the apocalypse, and the box of food was of considerable value.

Yang Xiao was really going to distribute it?

Yang Xiao nodded again and pointed to Feifei, Chen Fei, Chen Lu, and Dai Yun saying:

”Give each of them an extra pack.”

Feifei and the others appeared pleasantly surprised.

Yang Xiao then pointed to the huge Hive and said:

”I need to undergo genetic mutation now, otherwise, your future safety will be compromised, so I need to enjoy this Hive alone.”

Huang Wen listened and looked at Yang Xiao with a puzzled face.

”Boss, you could’ve taken this by yourself since you killed the Bee Queen and won this trophy.”

Yang Xiao waved his hand and said:

”This is the apocalypse; we all need to survive, so, you all need to strive harder in the future.”

Then he spoke again to Feifei and the others:

”We already hunted a big frog today, right? A big frog can be stewed in a spicy fish hot pot. I guess it would taste great. This big frog is for you four, and also Huang Wen. The five of you can enjoy it on your own.”

The meat of mutated creatures can accelerate the mutation in human bodies. A big frog weighing over ten kilograms can provide a full meal for Chen Fei and the others. Although Huang Wen did not participate in the battle, as the leader of this team, Yang Xiao naturally took extra care of her.

After Yang Xiao finished speaking, under the admiring gazes of everyone, he carried the Hive towards his tent. However, the Hive was too big to fit inside Yang Xiao’s tent, so he placed it at the entrance, sat down on the ground, took out his Golden Short Sword, picked out a wasp larva, and started chewing it directly in his mouth.

Just like this, one after another.

Meanwhile, outside, there was an exciting scene as the girls gathered around the box, drooling.

The entire box contained over eighty packs of food. Huang Wen first distributed two packs to everyone, gave four more packs to Chen Fei and the others, and took out more than ten packs of spicy fish for future seasoning use, leaving about ten packs in the box.

Huang Wen brought the box to Yang Xiao’s tent.

”Boss, everyone received 2 packs, Chen Fei and her group got 3 packs, and I took out about ten packs of spicy fish. There are about ten packs left; these are all given to you.”

Yang Xiao nodded and asked:

”How is your mutation progressing?”

”It’s not complete yet.”

Huang Wen was a bit disappointed with her mutation; her genetic mutations can now transform her hands and legs, but she didn’t exhibit any special strength or function and was still very weak in combat.

”Come in.”

Huang Wen hesitated for a moment, then walked into Yang Xiao’s tent.

”Sit down.”

Huang Wen glanced at Yang Xiao and obediently sat down.

Huang Wen sat opposite Yang Xiao, who picked out another wasp larva and brought it to Huang Wen’s mouth.

”Open your mouth.”

Huang Wen, without thinking, immediately opened her mouth, and Yang Xiao stuffed the wasp larva inside.

”Eat a few more, it can accelerate the mutation.”

Huang Wen’s face immediately flushed with embarrassment as Yang Xiao fed her.

Huang Wen wasn’t beautiful, but she wasn’t ugly either; however, she had a unique aura that came from the confidence of a former top student.

”It tastes awful.”

Huang Wen muttered softly. Frankly, she didn’t like eating wasp larvae raw. In fact, most girls didn’t like this way of eating; if it weren’t for the ample honey inside, it would be difficult to even eat one.

However, receiving such special attention from Yang Xiao, Huang Wen felt an unusual sweetness in her heart.

Yang Xiao glanced at Huang Wen, stuffed another wasp larva into his own mouth, continuously chewed, and then picked out another to give to Huang Wen.

Huang Wen pouted, ”It tastes awful.”

”Eating it raw is a bit difficult, but this can quickly complete your mutation. Now it’s the apocalypse, no one knows what will happen in the next second. Only by rapidly enhancing your abilities can you avoid being eliminated, and I can’t always be here to protect you.”

Huang Wen heard this, her heart trembled slightly, and looking at Yang Xiao, she obediently opened her mouth and took the second wasp larva.

She also knew that now it was the apocalypse, a typical survival of the fittest situation, not only among humans but also between humans and mutated creatures in the wilderness.

This huge wasp Hive still had sixty or seventy wasp larvae. As Yang Xiao ate, he felt waves of electricity being generated in his body.

As Yang Xiao’s body mutation accelerated, the time it took for him to digest these currents became shorter and shorter. Initially, it took over ten minutes to digest currents generated from eating a pack of chicken legs, but now it only took a few seconds to digest currents from wasp larvae. Lightning moved from the bottom up through his body and disappeared in an instant.

His body continuously underwent the baptism of currents, and Yang Xiao felt his body getting stronger and his hearing becoming sharper, even able to hear conversations inside tents 20 meters away.

Looking around, he could also see small details of objects a hundred meters away.

Then, he felt a surge of energy within his body, growing stronger as if it was about to explode inside him.

Yang Xiao didn’t care about these, continued eating wasp larvae, especially the honey in the Hive, which had even stronger energy.

When Yang Xiao ate the 30th wasp larva, he heard a booming sound inside his body, then his whole body shook and he collapsed.
