Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 680: Incoming Enemies

”Are we really going to join, sir?” A guy asked, looking at the glasses summoner, who was the one handling almost all matters within the group, Ricky.

”Of course. Qill is most likely trying to chase after that guy. Although he is strong, he is still too young. If he doesnʼt get rid of his recklessness, he will be in trouble.” Ricky squinted his eyes. ”Our target is not the summoner. We just have to go directly to their base. They will show up themselves.

”Get ready. We will march toward them. Check if there are any traps nearby.” Ricky commanded while summoning his familiars. ”Tell the others to summon their familiars as well. To be able to deal such damage on us… thereʼs no way this person is ordinary.”

”Yes, sir.” The guy acknowledged the order and relayed it to everyone.

Little did they know, Jinwu had been observing them the whole time.

Once he confirmed the enemyʼs intention, Jinwu flew away.

…

”I guess the situation has become trickier.” Flora crossed her arms. ”Still, is this within your expectation, Nathan?”

”Yeah.” Nathan nodded. He first turned to Iris. Although she had calmed herself down, she must still be worried about the children. ”Donʼt worry. I donʼt mind spending more money to get a few more rooms in the inn for the kids after this. Besides, weʼll be leaving this town once this is over.”

”I understand, my lord.” Iris nodded. ”If thereʼs anything I can do, please donʼt hesitate to tell me.”

Nathan thought for a moment. ”I donʼt know how many people are going to come to us, but it might become a big battle. However, they canʼt afford to march without thinking, since thereʼs a chance weʼre setting up some traps.”

”Should I?” Flora asked.

”Yeah. The problem is the location. Weʼll be using the traps for an ambush.” Nathan nodded.

”If youʼre going for an ambush, there is a suitable place for it.” Iris raised her hand. ”If theyʼre going the way Iʼm expecting them to, there should be a street not too big to be considered a main street, but not too small to be called an alley. It is barely two carriages wide. Those buildings have been abandoned because their owner has died.

”If we use it as a place for an ambush, we shouldnʼt have to worry about anyone else. Besides, this path doesnʼt have many turns. Normal people will find it hard to get away. And… I donʼt think the enemies who are wary of traps will use bigger or smaller paths since theyʼre better for killing a lot of people.”

Nathan frowned. ”What about the chance of them knowing about this path or noticing something is off?”

”These thugs are mainly staying in the east while weʼre on the west side of the slum. Unless something big happens, no one is going to bother to come this way. So, even if they know something is off, they shouldnʼt know that the people around this path have died.”

Nathan nodded. ”Thatʼs good. We can use this street to deal with them. All that is left… speaking of the devil…”

Nathan raised his head as Jinwu dove from the sky before gently perching on Nathanʼs shoulder.

”How is it?”

”Theyʼre coming to this place as expected. Itʼs just… their number is quite big, around 100 people roughly.”

”Summoners?”

”I can sense 10 danger signs. Two of them are particularly dangerous, while the other eight are… letʼs see, even weaker than the one you took down earlier.”

Nathan looked down, falling into deep thought. ”Ten summoners, huh? Even though a lot of them are weak, theyʼre still summoners. Besides, the two stronger summoners will definitely do something during the ambush.”

”Their leader is the guy with glasses. And it appears theyʼre mingling around the normal people to hide the real summoners among them.”

”How strong are these two summoners? Theyʼre not the leaders, right?” Nathan asked.

”No. They are still weaker than you two, but you canʼt underestimate them either, especially the one leading them. Heʼs pretty crafty.”

Nathan closed his eyes. ”Itʼs going to be hard hiding our identity. At the same time, I donʼt want to reveal our trump card yet.”

Anubis raised his head. ”Should I kidnap them in my domain?”

”Thatʼs also a possibility. Only kidnapping the summoners in your domain…” Nathan crossed his arms. ”However, with sufficient ena, they can break free from your domain or disrupt the flow, which will break your domain, right?”

”Yes. If they disrupt it, my domain will flow to the current world, which will integrate with the surrounding buildings.”

Nathan thought for a moment. ”I donʼt really wish to reveal you guys as long as possible. Can you kidnap Fenrir or Nidhogg as well? No. Nidhogg is too big, so itʼs not suitable to keep him hidden here. So Fenrir will be fighting with you just in case.”

Anubis, Jinwu, and Fenrir surprisingly shook their heads at the same time.

”No way.” Fenrir squinted his eyes. ”If youʼre going to fight like this, I will have to raise my objection. At the very least, Anubis should be by your side to heal your injuries.”

”We know how reckless you are.” Jinwu nodded.

”Why are you guys, who are always bickering with each other, agreeing on something?” Nathan sighed.

Fenrir and Jinwu just rolled their eyes.

”Still, Jinwuʼs domain canʼt kidnap people. And Fenrir. You donʼt even have a domain.” Nathan crossed his arms.

”In that case, what do you think about summoning Nidhogg as well?” Fenrir asked.

”I told you already. He is too big.”

”No. We can place him on an empty street or something. If weʼre not going to participate in that battle, we will kidnap all the summoners and deal with them ourselves.” Fenrir pointed at Jinwu. ”What do you say?”

”Do you want me to synchronize my domain with Anubisʼ to stabilize his domain?”

”Yes. This way, his domain wonʼt leak to the real world, which will allow us to fight. To defeat them as quickly as possible, I and Nidhogg will join hands to defeat all of them. You two should focus on stabilizing the domain.”
