Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 677: Princess of a Dying Nation. Part-2.

What would happen if you put a speedster who can attack before they can be predicted against someone who can predict everything before an attack can ever happen?

This was precisely what Rio was seeing occur right in front of him.

Sitting on a small hill far away from the main duel ground, Rio felt quite shocked by what he was seeing.

”If it was the me from before reaching rank S... this version of Lia could have easily defeated me... she’s strong...”

With his current strength, it was impossible for even early SS-rankers to easily deal with him, let alone Lia, but the weaker version of him from a year or so ago could have definitely been defeated by Lia.

This wasn’t Rio mocking Lia; her being able to keep up with Rio this much was already an insane feat.

When comparing Lia to Rio, you must also consider that Lia’s original talent was only rank S!

Unlike Rio, who stole the protagonist’s chances and had the advantage of knowing the entire storyline beforehand, Lia has pushed through her limits through her own efforts!

If not for the ’limitless’ talent, perhaps Rio would have never even managed to reach his current strength even in decades! But Lia likely would have reached rank S in all scenarios.

She was the type to always work hard no matter what.

”To think she can now interfere with the strings of destiny... this is almost on par with a fully fledged ’Legendary Skill’!”

Yes! The reason why Rio felt that Lia’s power was really strong was not just because she could predict; she could now even cause changes in the future herself!!

The very moment her battle with Ivy started, Lia’s ridiculous power immediately got activated!

Despite looking weaker and suffering from rot, Ivy was not weak in the slightest; the moment the duel began, she shot towards Lia with her broken spear at a speed almost as fast as Rio’s during his early S-rank level!

[Blue Rose Spear Art: Unique Flower: Thousand Iterations!]

In just a matter of a fraction of a second, Ivy launched a thousand stab attacks at Lia, with each of them being at a different angle!

It was as if Ivy grew a thousand different arms and managed to stab Lia from a thousand different angles at the exact same time!

She was simply too fast!

This attack alone was so strong that it could have easily injured the version of Lia that was from before reaching rank S in just the first strike!

But this time, things were different; Lia wasn’t the same anymore; she was stronger in almost all aspects.

She was now a proper S-ranker, and her foresight mastery was so overpowered that unlike before, she could now more easily predict all these attacks!

[Destiny Manipulation: String of Change: Forget Technique!]

Lia didn’t even need to move a single finger; she manipulated the strings of destiny connected to Ivy to a certain extent and made a ’temporary’ change.

Strings of destiny connect a person to the ’world’; if you make changes in them, you can cause change in the person’s very existence!

Lia changed Ivy’s strings of destiny and made it so that the ’technique’ Ivy used to attack Lia was never learned by Ivy in the first place!

Although the effects of this were temporary, as the strings of destiny would eventually realize that they were interfered with and would return back to their original position, that would take quite a bit of time!

But until then, Ivy would forget that she ever had this technique in the first place!

”Wha!?”

As Ivy lost the memory of this attack skill mid-attack, she couldn’t remember what she was going to do and thus lost her momentum.

Taking advantage of this loss of momentum, Lia swung her and stabbed Ivy straight in the corrupted eye of hers!

*BOOOM!!!*

With just one attack, Ivy’s half of the face was blown apart, and she got blasted off hundreds of meters away from the sheer impact of that attack!

Lia didn’t even use a technique in that attack; it was just a normal stab!

”The feeling of having a legendary skill must really be unique... Sigh, if only I had it too...”

Lia wasn’t surprised at her insane increase in power, but she felt that it was a pity that she didn’t have a proper legendary skill.

Her legendary talent was a weaker version of a legendary skill, but even such an ability was already so strong that it could put Lia in the same league as Rio and the other members of team Astra, who all had legendary skills!

Only after having this talent did Lia realize how much of a massive advantage a legendary skill can bring to its user.

An S-ranker with a legendary skill is in a completely different league compared to those who don’t have it.

Although Lia’s destiny manipulation ability will not work on SS-rankers for now and won’t work on Rio either, for anyone else, her ability is simply a nightmare!

There is nothing that can hide from her attacks, and even if you made a plan beforehand to deal with her, she would still be able to predict it coming because of her insanely powerful premonition!

Now, her ’Intuition’ is ten times stronger than even Rio’s! It is simply impossible to trick her and defeat her by speed or surprise alone.

”Destiny Manipulation... This is the most ridiculous power I have ever seen in my life...”

Watching Lia do changes in the strings of destinies, Rio’s eyes widened in shock.

”Until now... I thought that manipulating strings of destiny was not possible before reaching peak rank SS or having some kind of authority related to it...”

”But... this is something completely different...”

Lia has proved that there is a possibility to do this even at rank S!

”Err... I think this is one of the few things that even I can’t copy...”

To manipulate the strings of destiny, like Lia, Rio would also need the same legendary talent as her or some other specific means.

”Now... even without Kai’s help, she can already dominate most S-rank battles all by herself...”

Rio felt happy for Lia from the bottom of his heart; her hard work had finally paid off!
