Online Game: My Decay Drives the Entire Server Crazy

Chapter 87: Solo Invasion of the Korean Server, Applying the Ultimate Social Death Debuff to Kim Hyun-taeKim Hyun-tae stared at the private message from Lin Ye for a full ten seconds, then made a decision that stunned everyone around him. He withdrew all Korean Server players from the cross-server passage entrance back to the Korean Server main city.

Vice President Park Min-ho was puzzled: ”President, are we just withdrawing like this? Did our brothers lose their levels for nothing?”

Kim Hyun-tae walked toward the teleportation array without looking back: ”If we don’t withdraw, should we wait to be wiped out? The freelance players from the Chinese Server each have a Cross-Server Protection Package now; our guerrilla tactics are useless.”

Park Min-ho followed behind him: ”Then what should we do next?”

Kim Hyun-tae stood on the teleportation array, a cold smile curling at the corner of his mouth: ”Since we can’t beat Lin Ye in the Chinese Server, we’ll bring the battlefield back to the Korean Server. The cross-server passage is symmetrical; if he can come to the Korean Server, we can surround him on our home turf. Notify everyone to set up defenses around the teleportation array in Seoul City. As long as Lin Ye dares to come, we’ll make sure he never returns.”

More than three hundred elite players from the Goryeo War God Temple quickly assembled around the teleportation array in the Korean Server’s main city, Seoul City. Kim Hyun-tae stood directly in front of the teleportation array, holding a newly crafted legendary Korean Server special weapon. He had spent a fortune to have this weapon customized by the top blacksmith in the Korean Server, and its added attribute was ”Double Damage to Cross-Server Targets.” He had prepared it specifically for when Lin Ye crossed over to the Korean Server.

The three hundred people guarded for a full hour, but the teleportation array didn’t even flicker. Kim Hyun-tae’s patience began to wear thin, and the elite players behind him started to slack off; someone complained in the guild channel that their feet were sore from standing.

Just then, the teleportation array lit up. It wasn’t the blue teleportation light commonly used by Korean Server players, nor was it the dark red teleportation light of the cross-server passage. It was a black-purple teleportation light that no one had ever seen before. After the light faded, a person stood in the center of the teleportation array, leaning on a pitch-black longsword—the Abyss Decay Longsword.

The expression on Kim Hyun-tae’s face was complex after he saw who it was. Half was the smugness of ”he really came,” and half was the confusion of ”why is he alone?” He stepped forward, gripping his special weapon: ”Lin Ye, you came to the Korean Server alone? Where is your team? Where is Su Qinghan? Where is Fatty Wang?”

Lin Ye stepped off the teleportation array, and the three hundred elite players from the Goryeo War God Temple collectively took a step back. The scene was quite comical; three hundred people were surrounding one person, yet it was the three hundred who were retreating.

”Do I need a team to deal with you?”

Kim Hyun-tae’s face darkened, and he waved his hand: ”Attack! Dying outside the cross-server battlefield results in a level loss. If he dies, he’ll drop back to the Novice Village. Let’s see how arrogant he can be then!”

Three hundred elite players bit the bullet and rushed forward. Lin Ye didn’t even raise his weapon; he just raised his right hand and snapped his fingers. The crisp sound of the snap echoed over the Seoul City Square, and a black-purple energy wave spread out from him, instantly covering the entire square. A debuff icon appeared above the heads of all the Korean Server players swept by the energy wave.

Kim Hyun-tae subconsciously glanced at his status bar and was stunned. No health lost. His health bar remained steadily at one hundred percent. He had just wanted to say, ”Your Decay Talent has failed in the Korean Server,” but the sound that came from his throat startled him.

His voice had changed; it wasn’t a normal speaking voice, but a pig’s squeal. A sharp, loud pig squeal burst from his mouth, sounding particularly jarring in the silent square. He wanted to tell Lin Ye not to leave, but what came from his throat was a series of pig squeals, rapid and loud. Every Korean Server player in the square had turned into a pig squealer, with three hundred people squealing one after another; the scene was spectacular to the extreme.

Kim Hyun-tae looked down at his status bar in horror. The debuff name was ”Ultimate Social Death Package Exclusive Edition,” and a line of small text followed the ID: Korean Server-wide voice forcibly enabled, speech automatically turns into pig squeals, attributes castrated to one point, all equipment effects disabled, twenty-four hours of continuous broadcasting, and anything said in any channel will be heard by all players on the server.

Kim Hyun-tae hurriedly opened the guild channel, wanting to type for help. The text was sent, but a voice bar appeared next to the text message in the guild channel. The voice bar played automatically, and the content was still the pig squealing. All online members in the guild heard their president’s pig squeals, and someone couldn’t help but send a stifled-laughter emoji in the guild channel. This caused everyone else’s voice bars in the guild channel to play as well. Three hundred people’s pig squeals echoed in the guild channel, like a group of real pigs holding a meeting.

The Seoul City Square was already crowded with freelance Korean Server players watching the spectacle. Someone recorded a video and posted it to the Korean Server forum with the title ”Goryeo War God Temple turns into pigs collectively, Kim Hyun-tae leads the squealing.” The post was instantly bumped to the top of the forum, and the comments were filled with Korean Server players frantically spamming mockery.

Kim Hyun-tae’s face turned bright red, his lips kept moving, but only pig squeals came from his throat, each one more urgent than the last, like a piglet that had its tail stepped on. He wanted to attack, but the special weapon worth millions of gold coins at his waist dropped directly to the ground; the attribute castration effect had reduced his strength to the minimum, so he couldn’t even hold his weapon.

Lin Ye walked up to him, looking down at Kim Hyun-tae, who was half-kneeling on the ground.

”President Kim, what did you say when you were slaughtering the Novice Village in the Chinese Server? That Chinese players without Lin Ye are sheep waiting to be slaughtered. Now that you are in front of me, who is the one waiting to be slaughtered?”

Kim Hyun-tae’s lips trembled violently, and a series of off-key pig squeals squeezed from his throat. Lin Ye translated for him: ”You say I’m underhanded? The Talent is mine; the Talent given by the system is meant to be used. Your weapon has added double damage to cross-server targets; isn’t that also underhanded? When you do it, it’s a tactic; when others do it, it’s shameless. You’ve got some nerve.”

Kim Hyun-tae stopped squealing. He lowered his head, his whole body trembling. The surrounding freelance Korean Server players put down their weapons, and some turned on their live streams, pointing them at Kim Hyun-tae.

Lin Ye squatted down and looked into Kim Hyun-tae’s eyes: ”If you want to clear this debuff, agree to two conditions. First, publicly apologize on the Korean Server for what the Goryeo War God Temple did in the Chinese Server, exactly as it happened. Second, pay the protection fee. Not to me, but to the novice players in the Chinese Server’s Novice Village who were slaughtered by you. Compensate each person with ten thousand gold coins; Fatty Wang will send you the list.”

A low pig squeal came from Kim Hyun-tae’s throat, and he nodded desperately. Lin Ye stood up and snapped his fingers again. The debuff was temporarily lifted.

A normal voice finally squeezed out of Kim Hyun-tae’s throat, sounding so hoarse it didn’t sound like his own: ”How many times was the Chinese Server’s Novice Village killed in total?”

Lin Ye tilted his head and looked at him: ”Not a single time more or less, eight hundred and twenty-one times. Fatty Wang was squatting at the resurrection point counting, and he didn’t miss a single one.”

Kim Hyun-tae’s face twitched. Eight hundred and twenty-one times meant eight million two hundred and ten thousand gold coins, plus the Goryeo War God Temple’s cross-server protection fee; this bill would be enough to make him sell everything he had to pay it off for a while.

Lin Ye turned and walked toward the teleportation array. After two steps, he stopped and looked back at Kim Hyun-tae: ”I’ve left a backdoor on you. If you dare to bully the Novice Village and freelance players again, the debuff will trigger automatically. Next time it won’t be pig squeals, it will be chicken calls—the kind where a rooster crows—and it will ring in your game pod promptly at six o’clock every morning for an hour.”

Kim Hyun-tae’s whole face turned pale, and he slumped to the ground.

The surrounding freelance Korean Server players put away their weapons one after another and made a path. Lin Ye stepped onto the teleportation array, a flash of black-purple light, and he disappeared from the Korean Server Main City Square.

The video of the collective pig squealing on the Korean Server forum had spread across all servers globally. Yamada Ichiro of the Japanese Server watched the pathetic sight of Kim Hyun-tae lying on the ground squealing like a pig in the video and opened a private message to send a message to William of the US Server: ”We agreed before to go to the Chinese Server to cause trouble; are we still going?” William replied instantly: ”Go to hell. You go, you go.” Yamada Ichiro sent another message: ”Then should we pay the protection fee in advance?” William was silent for a long time: ”Wait until Kim Hyun-tae finishes paying and see the amount before deciding.”

Kim Hyun-tae slumped in the Seoul City Square, and the surrounding crowd of onlookers gradually dispersed. Park Min-ho walked over cautiously to help him up and whispered: ”President, should we apologize?”

Kim Hyun-tae closed his eyes, and a sentence squeezed from his throat: ”Apologize. Apologize now. Open the guild treasury and pay the money. After paying, we’ll think of a way.”

He reopened the cross-server channel, his fingers hovering over the virtual keyboard, trembling for a long while before he could type the words out: ”I, Kim Hyun-tae, representing the Goryeo War God Temple, sincerely apologize to all players in the Chinese Server’s Novice Village who were maliciously killed by us. We violated the rules of friendly cross-server sparring and are willing to compensate all victims with ten thousand gold coins each. At the same time, I would like to say sorry to all players in the Chinese Server.”

After the apology statement was sent, the cross-server channel was silent. Then the Chinese Server players started spamming the screen.

”Kim Hyun-tae apologized! Brother Ye really went to the Korean Server!”

”Did you guys see that video on the Korean Server forum? The Goryeo War God Temple collectively turned into pigs, hahahaha!”

”President Kim, next time you come to the Chinese Server, remember to buy a Cross-Server Protection Package first. The basic version is ten thousand gold coins, guaranteed to keep you from turning into a pig.”

Kim Hyun-tae closed the cross-server channel. He really couldn’t bear to look at these taunts any longer.

The sound of pig squealing that had echoed over the Seoul City Square became an indelible memory of the Goryeo War God Temple in the hearts of players across all servers. At this moment, Lin Ye had already returned to Dawn City and was sitting by the window on the third floor of the Unscrupulous Business Center, holding the tea that Fatty Wang had just brewed. The tea was still hot.

Fatty Wang stood by with a tablet, and the screen was refreshing in real-time with the compensation transfer records from the Goryeo War God Temple: ”Brother, Kim Hyun-tae is really paying the money. Every transaction is arriving.”

Lin Ye took a sip of tea: ”It’s not because he’s conscientious; it’s the backdoor I left. If he dares to renege on the debt, the game pod will crow promptly at six o’clock tomorrow morning.”

Su Qinghan sat opposite, flipping through the messages on the cross-server channel, and couldn’t help but laugh softly: ”The Japanese Server and the US Server seem to be panicking. Yamada Ichiro and William are both inquiring about your itinerary. They are afraid that you will go to find them next.”

Lin Ye put down his teacup: ”Kim Hyun-tae likes to show off, so let him be an example, so that those who follow won’t have any extra thoughts. In the afternoon, send a Korean Server package price list to Yamada Ichiro and William each. After seeing Kim Hyun-tae’s fate, they should be very willing to pay the protection fee in advance.”
