Online Game: My Decay Drives the Entire Server Crazy

Chapter 53 Earning Millions of Real-World Currency Daily, the Shameless Squad Becomes the Richest in the GameLin Ye did not go to the Gate of the Abyss.

It wasn’t because he was afraid; he was just too lazy to go. After that anonymous account sent ”Do you dare to come?”, Lin Ye didn’t reply for a whole hour. The person sent another one: ”What? Don’t dare to come?” Lin Ye still didn’t reply. Then another: ”Ye the Wicked, are you a coward?” Lin Ye still ignored it. By the fourth message, the tone was already angry: ”Are you coming or not?” Lin Ye finally replied with just four words—”Busy making money.”

The other side went silent. Lin Ye closed the private messages and continued eating melon seeds. Su Qinghan stood nearby and couldn’t help but laugh: ”You really are something, standing up even a mysterious person.”

”What mysterious person?” Lin Ye shrugged. ”Isn’t he just a coward hiding in the shadows who doesn’t dare to show his face? If he really had the ability, he would come find me directly. Why bother meeting at a hellhole like the Gate of the Abyss?”

Su Qinghan thought about it and agreed, no longer trying to persuade him.

A week after Vile Power-leveling went online, business at the Commoner Supermarket completely exploded. The protection fee package, Material Supermarket, and Vile Power-leveling business lines were all running simultaneously, and daily income shot up like a rocket. Fatty Wang’s hands cramped every day from calculating the accounts, but the smile on his face never faded.

On the evening of the eighth day, Fatty Wang finished summarizing the ledgers for the past three days and was completely stunned. He sat blankly behind the counter, his eyes wide as bells and his mouth hanging open.

Su Qinghan walked over and knocked on the table: ”Fatty, what’s wrong? Are you out of it?”

Fatty Wang handed her the ledger, his voice trembling: ”Sister Qinghan, you... look at this number.”

Su Qinghan took it and was also stunned. The total revenue for the three days—32 million gold coins. At the current gold price, that converted to 64 million in real currency. An average of 21 million in real currency per day.

”This... this is for three days?” Su Qinghan’s voice also tightened a bit.

Fatty Wang nodded frantically: ”Three days! Today alone, the protection fee package sold for 12 million gold coins, the Material Supermarket for 8 million, and Vile Power-leveling for 5 million. That’s a total of 25 million gold coins, 50 million in real currency!”

Su Qinghan took a deep breath and went upstairs with the ledger to find Lin Ye. Lin Ye was by the window eating melon seeds. Seeing Su Qinghan’s expression, the corner of his mouth curled into a smile: ”What’s wrong? Did we strike it rich?”

Su Qinghan handed him the ledger: ”See for yourself.”

Lin Ye took it and glanced at it. His expression didn’t change much, but the curve of his mouth grew wider. ”Not bad. A bit less than I thought.”

”A bit less?” Su Qinghan was speechless. ”50 million in real currency a day, and you still think it’s not enough?”

Lin Ye put down the ledger, stood up, walked to the window, and pointed at the lights of the main city in the distance: ”Look at those people. How many have we helped? How many can play the game in peace because of us? We earned money, but more importantly—we did it.”

Su Qinghan walked to his side and followed his gaze. People were coming and going in the Main City Square, solo players laughing, chatting, and rushing to buy cheap materials. In the Novice Village, several newbies were grinding elite mobs under the leadership of Qin Wentian, their laughter audible from several streets away.

”Yeah,” she smiled. ”We did it.”

That night, the system popped up a server-wide golden announcement—

[Server-wide Golden Announcement! Congratulations to players [Ye], [Qinghan], and [Fatty Wang] for becoming the first three players in gods domain: origin to have assets exceeding 100 million in real currency! Reward: The server’s unique title [Main City Business Overlord]! Recorded in the Hall of Fame!]

The announcement flashed three times. The entire server exploded again.

[world channel]

[Player ”Wocao Wuqing”: 100 million in real currency? Is Brother Ye a money-printing machine?]

[Player ”Brick-Moving Expert”: Not a money-printing machine, but a business genius. The protection fee package, Material Supermarket, Vile Power-leveling—which one isn’t a hit?]

[Player ”Invincible Sword God”: Brother Ye is awesome! Sister Qinghan is awesome! Fatty is awesome too!]

[Player ”Yes Little Follower”: Brother Ye, do you still need a lackey? I can do anything!]

[Player ”Milk Tea Without Sugar”: Brother Ye, can you open a training class? Teach us how to do business?]

Lin Ye looked at the messages on the world channel, a wicked smile playing on his lips. He opened the Server Channel and sent a message—

[Server Channel][Ye]: Thank you all for your support. The Commoner Supermarket’s success today is built on the trust of every solo player. In the future, we will continue to work hard to grow the business and benefit more people.

Seeing this message, the players started flooding the screen again—”Brother Ye is too humble!” ”Brother Ye, you are the light of solo players!” ”Brother Ye is the eternal God!”

Fatty Wang watched the messages flooding the screen from behind the counter, dancing with excitement: ”Brother, we’re famous! Completely famous!”

Lin Ye nodded: ”Famous, yes, but it’s not enough.”

”Not enough? 50 million a day is still not enough?”

Lin Ye pointed out the window: ”Look outside.”

Fatty Wang followed his finger. In front of the Commoner Supermarket, besides the queuing solo players, there were several new faces. They wore magnificent equipment, and their IDs were prefixed with overseas server icons—Korean Server, Japanese Server, US Server, and even European Server.

”Overseas players?” Fatty Wang was stunned for a moment.

Lin Ye nodded: ”They crossed over from overseas servers. They want to buy our protection fee package, but overseas servers don’t support direct transfers. So—” He curled his lips into a wicked smile, ”it’s time to take our business overseas.”

Su Qinghan frowned: ”Cross-server business is not that simple. Exchange rates, payment channels, and language barriers are all issues.”

Lin Ye thought for a moment and said, ”No rush. Let the bullet fly for a while. When the overseas players find their own ways, they’ll help us solve these problems.”

Sure enough, the next day, overseas players started posting on the forums, asking to buy the Commoner Supermarket’s protection fee package. Someone specifically set up a proxy buying service—overseas players would transfer money to the proxy, who would then use a national server account to buy the package. Although the proxy took a ten percent cut, overseas players were still scrambling to buy.

[world channel]

[Korean Server Player: China’s protection fee package is so good! When can our server have it?]

[Japanese Server Player: I’ve already bought an annual card through a proxy. It was a bit expensive, but worth it!]

[US Server Player: Ye the Wicked, can you come open a branch on our server? We have a lot of scumbags over here who need to be dealt with!]

[European Server Player: +1 to the above! We have black-hearted guilds here too, please come and bring them to justice, Brother Ye!]

Lin Ye watched these messages, the curve of his mouth growing wider. He hadn’t expected the demand from overseas players to be so strong. It seemed that cross-server business was inevitable.

But the cross-server matter wasn’t urgent; there were more important things at hand. Su Qinghan walked over with a report, her expression somewhat solemn: ”Ye, our assets have surpassed 100 million, but problems have come with it. The whole server is watching us, and many are jealous. Those players from the overseas servers might not all be here to buy packages; some might be here to scout us out.”

Lin Ye nodded: ”I know. That’s why we need to be prepared.”

”What preparation?”

Lin Ye pulled out the [God of Light’s Badge] and the [Abyss Core Fragment] from his backpack and weighed them in his hand: ”Martial preparation. Whoever dares to move against us will never return.”

Qin Wentian walked in from outside with a list in his hand: ”Brother Ye, several more small guilds want to join our alliance today. I’ve screened them; three are sincere, but two might be spies.”

Lin Ye took the list and glanced at it, a smile curling his lips: ”Spies? Interesting. Let them in. I want to see who is pulling the strings behind the scenes.”

Qin Wentian nodded and turned to make arrangements. Fatty Wang was busy behind the counter, and Su Qinghan was reviewing power-leveling orders; everything was in good order. Lin Ye stood by the window, looking at the distant city lights, but his mind was on something else—that anonymous account hadn’t been online for three days. Where did he go? What was he plotting?

He didn’t know. But he knew that it was always calmest before the storm.

And at this moment, in a corner of the main city, that anonymous account was logging in. The dark figure in front of the screen looked at the posts from overseas players on the forum, a cold smile curling his lips.

”Ye the Wicked, you think you’ve won? No, this is just the beginning. Overseas servers? Perfect, let me help you grow your business—so large that even you won’t be able to handle the fallout.”

He opened an encrypted chat room where several people were already waiting.

”Plan initiated,” he typed.

The other side was silent for a few seconds, then replied in unison: ”Received.”

The dark figure closed the chat room and vanished into the darkness.
