Online Game: My Decay Drives the Entire Server Crazy

Chapter 52: The Unscrupulous Game Boosting Service Goes Online, Specializing in Scamming Bad People and Becoming a Server-Wide Sensation. On the third day since the protection fee package went online, the queue at the entrance of Commoner Supermarket hadn’t decreased; instead, it grew longer and longer. Fatty Wang was so busy his feet barely touched the ground, not even having time for a sip of water. Su Qinghan was helping collect money behind the counter, while Qin Wentian maintained order at the entrance. The three of them were spinning like tops.

Lin Ye sat by the window on the third floor, watching the dense crowd below with a wicked smile on his face. However, he knew in his heart that the protection fee package alone wasn’t enough. Solo players had diverse needs—some wanted revenge after having their mobs stolen, some wanted justice after being scammed for equipment, and some wanted to vent their anger after being bullied by large guilds. The protection fee package was purely defensive, not offensive. The missing puzzle piece was called ’power-leveling.’

After finishing her morning work, Su Qinghan went upstairs to find him. She held an investigation report, her expression somewhat grave: ”Ye, I looked into the server-wide power-leveling market; the water is very deep. On the surface, some studios are taking orders, but behind the scenes, it’s all controlled by the Black Market Guild. Chaotic pricing, poor service quality, and scams are the norm. Solo players not only fail to get things done after spending money, but they are also often harvested a second time.”

Lin Ye took the report and read through it once, his eyes growing brighter and brighter. This wasn’t a problem; it was an opportunity.

”Qinghan, what do you think about us starting a power-leveling business?” He leaned back in his chair, crossing his legs. ”Not for ordinary level-grinding, but specifically to stand up for players who’ve been screwed over. Black-hearted big spenders, mob-stealers, and dishonest merchants who scam newbies—as long as they place an order, we’ll help them seek justice and make the other party pay a price.”

Su Qinghan was stunned for a moment, then laughed: ”What you’re doing isn’t called power-leveling; it’s called wicked law enforcement.”

”The name isn’t important; the effect is.” Lin Ye stood up, walked to the window, and pointed at the crowd queuing below. ”Look at those people. How many of them have been bullied and didn’t dare to speak up? How many have been scammed and didn’t dare to report it? We stand up for them, they pay us—it’s a win-win.”

Su Qinghan thought for a moment and nodded: ”It’s feasible. But there must be a standard; we can’t just take any order. What if someone deliberately places an order to frame an innocent player?”

A wicked smile curled on Lin Ye’s lips: ”So we have to audit them. Every order must have its situation verified. We only help victims, not troublemakers. That’s the bottom line.”

That afternoon, Fatty Wang posted a business announcement for ’Vile Power-leveling’ on the forum. The announcement was written simply, just a few sentences—

”Vile Power-leveling, specifically targeting scumbags. Business scope: Helping victims seek justice. Service targets: Solo players who have had mobs stolen, equipment scammed, or been maliciously hunted down. Fee standard: Pricing based on the severity of the incident, minimum 100 gold coins, no upper limit. Order acceptance principle: Only helping victims, not troublemakers. Evidence must be provided before placing an order; orders will only be accepted after passing the audit. Note: The final right of interpretation for this business belongs to Ye the Wicked.”

Less than half an hour after the announcement was posted, the forum exploded.

Floor 1: Holy crap! Brother Ye is doing power-leveling? And it’s the kind specifically for targeting scumbags? I have to support this!

Floor 2: You can get revenge for stolen mobs too? Brother Ye, you’re trying to become the solo players’ police!

Floor 3: Last time I had a BOSS stolen by a big spender, I was so angry I almost deleted my account. Brother Ye, can you take this order?

Floor 4: Person above, you need to provide evidence. Without evidence, it’s hard for Brother Ye to handle it.

Floor 5: Regardless, I’ll place an order to try it out first. 100 gold coins isn’t expensive anyway.

Floor 6: Brother Ye is going to clean up all the bullies on the server. Support!

Fatty Wang was responsible for taking orders. He sat behind the counter with a virtual computer in front of him, and the order list on the screen kept refreshing. In just one short hour, he received over a hundred orders. There were those whose mobs were stolen, those whose equipment was scammed, those maliciously hunted, and those blocked by guilds and unable to leave.

”Brother, there are too many orders! I can’t audit them all by myself!” Fatty Wang shouted.

Lin Ye walked downstairs, glanced at the order list, and randomly clicked a few. ”Qinghan, you’ll be in charge of auditing. Fatty, you’re in charge of client communication. Qin Wentian, you’ll lead the execution team. I’ll handle the final cleanup—whoever refuses to comply, I’ll take care of them.”

The four of them had a clear division of labor, and the Vile Power-leveling business officially went online.

The first order came from a newbie player with the ID ’Be Good Little Bunny.’ She posted on the forum saying that a warrior named ’Mad Blade’ had stolen a Rare Elite Mob from her, which dropped a piece of Purple Equipment. She had screenshots and recordings as solid evidence.

Qin Wentian glanced at the order and frowned: ”Mad Blade? I know this guy. A lone wolf ranked in the top two hundred of the server. His gear is good, and his skills are decent. He won’t be easy to deal with.”

Lin Ye laughed: ”Not easy to deal with? Then let me do it.”

When he found Mad Blade, the man was farming mobs in the wild. Seeing Lin Ye, Mad Blade’s expression changed, and he turned to run. But could he escape? Lin Ye raised his hand and stacked 50 layers of debuffs on him; his health bar plummeted, and he collapsed to the ground after a few steps.

”You... what do you want to do?” Mad Blade lay on the ground, his voice trembling.

Lin Ye squatted in front of him and patted his face: ”You stole an elite mob from a newbie, and even took a piece of purple gear. Is that right?”

Mad Blade’s eyes flickered: ”I... I didn’t...”

”Didn’t?” Lin Ye pulled up the screenshots and recordings and shoved them in his face. ”The evidence is right here. Are you going to return it yourself, or should I help you return it?”

Mad Blade gritted his teeth, pulled the purple gear out of his backpack, and handed it to Lin Ye. Lin Ye took the equipment and added another 50 layers of debuffs to him. ”This is your punishment. Next time you steal a newbie’s mob, it won’t be as simple as losing equipment.”

Mad Blade lay on the ground, nodding repeatedly: ”I won’t do it again! Never again!”

Lin Ye returned the equipment to ’Be Good Little Bunny.’ Little Bunny was so excited she posted a thank-you note on the forum, which became a trending post. As the news spread, even more solo players flocked to Commoner Supermarket.

The second order came from a middle-aged player with the ID ’Old Li.’ He had been scammed out of a set of Blue Equipment worth tens of thousands of gold coins by a dishonest merchant. The merchant’s ID was ’Black-hearted Shopkeeper,’ who specialized in scamming newbies at the entrance of the main city’s Trading House. Old Li had chased him for three days but couldn’t get it back.

Qin Wentian took this order and found Black-hearted Shopkeeper with Fatty Wang. Black-hearted Shopkeeper was fooling a newbie at the entrance of the Trading House. Seeing Qin Wentian, his expression changed: ”You... what are you here for?”

Qin Wentian didn’t waste words; he grabbed him by the collar: ”Return Old Li’s equipment.”

Black-hearted Shopkeeper played dumb: ”What equipment? I don’t know what you’re talking about.”

Qin Wentian pinned him against the wall: ”Old Li, blue set, ten thousand gold coins. Three days ago, you scammed him at the entrance of the Trading House. There’s a recording as proof. Are you going to return it yourself, or should I help you return it?”

Black-hearted Shopkeeper’s face turned pale. He gritted his teeth and returned the equipment. Qin Wentian also made him pay Old Li an additional ten thousand gold coins as compensation for mental distress. Upon receiving the equipment and compensation, Old Li immediately posted a thank-you note on the forum: ”Brother Ye’s team really gets things done! Not only did Black-hearted Shopkeeper return the gear, but he also paid ten thousand gold coins in compensation! This is so satisfying!”

The third order, the fourth order, the fifth order... Qin Wentian led Fatty Wang to handle them one by one with incredible efficiency. By the third day, the reputation of Vile Power-leveling had spread throughout the server. The forum was filled with thank-you posts. Some praised Lin Ye as the ’Light of Solo Players,’ some called Vile Power-leveling the ’most conscientious business on the server,’ and others compared Lin Ye to ’Batman in the game.’

[world channel]

[Player ”Brick-Moving Expert”: Brother Ye’s Vile Power-leveling is awesome! I had my equipment scammed, and it was recovered in just three days!]

[Player ”Invincible Sword God”: Me too! For the BOSS that was stolen, Brother Ye personally took action, and that mob-stealer dropped 5 levels on the spot!]

[Player ”Milk Tea Without Sugar”: Brother Ye, can you open a branch? We players in other main cities want to place orders too!]

[Player ”Yes Little Follower”: Brother Ye is really trying to be the server police! Support!]

Fatty Wang looked at the order list and couldn’t stop smiling: ”Brother, the orders are already lined up for three months! We need to expand our staff!”

Lin Ye shook his head: ”No expansion. Quality over quantity. Every order must be audited and verified. We’re building a reputation, not just a turnover.”

Su Qinghan also nodded: ”Ye is right. Expanding too quickly easily leads to problems. It’s fine like this for now; let’s take it slow.”

Qin Wentian came back from outside with a list in his hand: ”Twelve orders were handled today, all completed. One hundred percent client satisfaction. A few people even wanted to send us banners, but I said it wasn’t necessary, so they posted thank-you notes on the forum instead.”

Lin Ye took the list and glanced at it, a wicked smile curling on his lips: ”Good job. Continue tomorrow.”

Qin Wentian hesitated for a moment and asked: ”Brother Ye, I have a question.”

”Speak.”

”By doing this, we’ve offended quite a few people. People like Mad Blade and Black-hearted Shopkeeper have forces behind them. What if they unite to retaliate?”

Lin Ye laughed: ”Retaliate? Do they dare?”

Qin Wentian thought about it and laughed as well. Indeed, they didn’t dare. Lin Ye was now the person one least wanted to provoke on the entire server. Even the Black Market Guild had been taken down by him; who would dare to retaliate?

”Alright, don’t overthink it.” Lin Ye patted his shoulder. ”Just focus on the work; leave the rest to me.”

Qin Wentian nodded and turned to leave. Fatty Wang was busy behind the counter, Su Qinghan was auditing orders, and everything was in perfect order. Lin Ye stood by the window, watching the distant sunset with a smile on his face.

The popularity of Vile Power-leveling exceeded everyone’s expectations. By the fifth day, orders were lined up for half a year. Fatty Wang had lost a noticeable amount of weight from the exhaustion, but he was full of energy. Su Qinghan was also incredibly busy, but her efficiency kept increasing. Qin Wentian had found his place—previously, as a guild leader, he had commanded thousands in battle; now, leading a small team to handle orders, although the scale was smaller, the sense of achievement was not lacking at all.

As for Lin Ye, besides occasionally taking action personally to handle a few tough nuts, he spent most of his time sitting by the window eating melon seeds. He was waiting for someone—waiting for the person who had anonymously ordered the ten-million-level custom card.

On the evening of the sixth day, that person finally appeared.

Lin Ye was eating melon seeds by the window when Su Qinghan suddenly came upstairs, her expression grave: ”Ye, the account for that anonymous order is online. He sent you a private message.”

Lin Ye opened the private message; there was only one sentence:

”Ye the Wicked, your protection fee package and Vile Power-leveling are quite interesting. But do you think you can protect everyone?”

Lin Ye looked at the private message, a wicked smile curling on his lips. He replied with one line:

”Whether I can protect them or not, you’ll know if you try. Where are you? I’ll buy you some milk tea.”

The other side went silent. After a long time, a reply came back: ”Gate of the Abyss. Do you dare to come?”

Lin Ye stood up, brushed the dust off his clothes, and said to Su Qinghan: ”Let’s go, to the Gate of the Abyss.”

Su Qinghan’s expression changed: ”Are you crazy? That’s his territory!”

Lin Ye laughed: ”What’s there to fear? My territory, my rules.”
