Online Game: My Decay Drives the Entire Server Crazy

Chapter 83: Test Server Bosses Suffer Mass Devastation, Three Years’ Worth of Version Reserves RampantThe third day after the agreement was signed, Lin Ye entered the Test Server again. This time, he did not go alone; he brought Su Qinghan and Fatty Wang with him. Fatty Wang held an empty backpack in his arms, Su Qinghan held an energy monitor in her hand, and Lin Ye walked at the very front, his pace unhurried, as if he were strolling through his own backyard.

Xiao Zhou crouched at the entrance of the Test Server. Seeing Lin Ye enter, he sprang up from the ground. ”Brother Ye, the agreement... you signed the agreement.”

Lin Ye did not even look back. ”The agreement states that I cannot actively attack unreleased Test Server Bosses. I did not actively attack.”

Xiao Zhou was stunned. If he did not actively attack, why enter the Test Server? He did not dare to ask, so he could only follow behind.

Deep within the Test Server, the eight version Boss husks that Lin Ye had drained last time were still sprawled on the ground. The Lord of Seals, Star-Fall General, Lord of Silence, and Galactic Overlord—the eight husks were piled together in disarray, like a heap of empty beverage bottles. Behind the husks was a newly added area; Lin Ye had noticed it last time he came but had not had the chance to look closely.

In the new area, twelve spheres of light were suspended. There were four more than the previous eight, the light spheres were deeper in color, and their version numbers were higher. Star Core Alliance expansion hidden commander, version number 5.2. Abyss Council expansion ultimate creation, version number 5.5. Interstellar expansion gatekeeper complete form, version number 5.8. The last light sphere was the smallest, yet its light was the most blinding; its version number was not a digit, but three characters—’TBD Version.’ The Boss sealed inside the light sphere did not even have a name, only a note: Related to the origin of the universe, development suspended.

Lin Ye stood before that row of light spheres, the corners of his mouth curling up. Su Qinghan’s energy monitor emitted a faint buzzing sound, and the values on the screen jumped wildly. ”The total energy of the twelve light spheres is five times higher than the sum of the previous eight.”

Fatty Wang hugged his empty backpack tighter. ”Brother, the agreement.”

Lin Ye took something out of his backpack. It was not a weapon, but a badge of the Lord of the Abyss. The energy imprint of the Lord of the Abyss was carved onto the badge, and the imprint was slightly hot. He pressed the badge against the surface of the nearest light sphere. The seal array pattern on the light sphere automatically cracked open; it was not Lin Ye who broke it, but the seal array pattern sensing the aura of the Lord of the Abyss and opening on its own.

The agreement stated that he could not actively attack unreleased Test Server Bosses. Lin Ye indeed did not actively attack; he just pressed the badge of the Lord of the Abyss against it, and the seal opened itself.

The light sphere cracked, and the Star Core Alliance commander sealed inside fell out. Before it could stand steady, the residual energy of the seal array surged toward it like a tide. It was not Lin Ye’s Decay Domain; it was the defensive mechanism inherent to the seal array. The Star Core Alliance commander was backlashed by its own sealing energy, and its health bar dropped by half in an instant.

Lin Ye stood to the side without even raising his hand. When the Star Core Alliance commander’s health bar dropped to five percent, the sealing energy stopped. It sprawled on the ground, lacking even the strength to stand up. Lin Ye walked over and crouched in front of it.

”Want to live?”

The Star Core Alliance commander struggled to lift its head. It did not speak human language, but it could understand.

”Sign an employment contract. The terms are the same as the Lord of the Abyss—hand over materials every week. You are a Test Server Boss, you do not have Abyss origin, so just hand over Test Server specialties.”

The Star Core Alliance commander nodded desperately. Lin Ye took a contract out of his backpack, and it pressed its energy imprint without even looking at it. The first Test Server employment contract was signed. Lin Ye stood up and walked toward the second light sphere.

Xiao Zhou stood at the entrance of the Test Server, watching Lin Ye press the badge of the Lord of the Abyss against the second light sphere. The seal array cracked again, the Boss inside fell out again, the sealing energy backlashed again, the Boss collapsed again, and Lin Ye crouched down to take out a contract again. Xiao Zhou took out his phone and sent a message to his leader.

”Leader, Lin Ye has entered the Test Server.”

The leader replied in seconds. ”What about the agreement?”

”He did not use his Talent; he used the badge of the Lord of the Abyss. The seal array sensed the aura of the Lord of the Abyss and opened itself. He did not actively attack; it was the sealing energy backlashing.”

The leader was silent for a full two minutes. ”He is exploiting loopholes in the agreement. He is exploiting loopholes in the agreement.”

Xiao Zhou did not dare to reply. The leader sent another message. ”How many has he signed?”

Xiao Zhou looked up. Lin Ye was crouching in front of the fourth light sphere, taking out a contract. ”The fourth one.”

The leader was silent again. The Boss of the third light sphere had mentioned a condition when signing the contract, saying that there was another hidden light sphere deep in the Test Server, containing the data remains of the Creator God prototype. After signing the fourth contract, Lin Ye stopped and looked at the third Boss.

”Creator God prototype?”

The Boss nodded desperately. ”Version number 0.0, the prototype of all Test Server Bosses. The officials sealed it in the deepest part of the Test Server; even we have not seen it.”

Lin Ye stood up and looked toward the depths of the Test Server. There was a gray door there; there was no version number on the door, no light sphere, only a line of small text that was almost illegible: Creator God prototype data remains, strictly prohibited from opening.

Lin Ye walked over. Xiao Zhou rushed over from the Test Server entrance and blocked the gray door. ”Brother Ye, this really cannot be opened. The Creator God prototype is the core of the game’s underlying code. Once its data remains are destroyed, the entire game might collapse. It is not a matter of the version being scrapped, but the survival of the game itself.”

Lin Ye looked at Xiao Zhou. Xiao Zhou’s eye rims were red; it was not from fear, but from genuine anxiety. ”Brother Ye, I beg you. Sign as many of the previous light spheres as you want, sign any contracts you want, take any materials you want. This door really cannot be opened.”

Lin Ye was silent for a few seconds. ”Move aside.”

Xiao Zhou did not move. Lin Ye walked past him without touching the door. Xiao Zhou stood frozen in place, watching Lin Ye walk back to the row of light spheres to continue signing contracts. The fifth, the sixth, the seventh. All twelve light spheres were signed.

The twelve version Bosses in the new area of the Test Server were all sprawled on the ground, each clutching a newly signed employment contract in their hands. Their energy had been mostly drained by the seal backlash, but the contracts were signed, and their lives were saved. Lin Ye collected the twelve contracts into his backpack.

”From today on, you twelve belong to the Lord of the Abyss. Hand over the materials to him every week, and he will submit them to me collectively. The contract terms are the same as the Lord of the Abyss—breach of contract triggers cross-dimensional Decay backlash.”

The twelve Test Server Bosses lowered their heads in unison. Xiao Zhou stood before the gray door, watching this scene, and took out his phone to send a message to his leader.

”Leader, all twelve light spheres have been signed. He did not touch that door.”

The leader replied in seconds. ”It is good that he did not touch the door. The twelve Bosses’ contracts are signed, what about the version content?”

Xiao Zhou relayed Lin Ye’s words. The leader was silent for a long while. ”Tell the planning department to change the plan. From now on, Test Server Bosses are not for players to fight; they are to work for players.”

Xiao Zhou was stunned. ”Leader, have you been brainwashed by Brother Ye too?”

The leader did not reply.

Lin Ye brought Su Qinghan and Fatty Wang out of the Test Server. Fatty Wang’s empty backpack was still empty, but Lin Ye’s backpack was filled with twelve contracts. Su Qinghan walked beside him and said in a low voice, ”You sensed what was inside that door.”

Lin Ye did not stop walking. ”The data remains of the Creator God prototype are of the same origin as my Talent.”

Su Qinghan’s brows furrowed. Lin Ye did not continue this topic and strode toward the Unscrupulous Business Center. Behind him, at the entrance of the Test Server, Xiao Zhou slumped to the ground, looking at the twelve Bosses who had just signed contracts, then looking back at the gray door behind him, and let out a long breath. Today’s Test Server visit was without danger, but he knew Lin Ye would return sooner or later to open that door. The badge of the Lord of the Abyss could open the sealed light spheres, so it could naturally open that door too; it was just a matter of time.

He took out his phone and sent a final message to his leader. ”Leader, I do not think that door can hold out for much longer.”

The leader replied very quickly this time. ”As long as it can hold out until the planning department finishes changing the plan.”
