One-Eyed Monster

Igor was stunned; Douglas’s exceptional thievery was truly astonishing.

However, what amazed Igor even more was Douglas’s ability to seize others’ lifelines.

First with the leader’s Gray Plain Wolf, then with the leader’s horn, all of this seemed to target the opponent’s vital points directly.

Such actions left Igor quite shocked; Douglas’s approach was indeed audacious.

But only such boldness could achieve such perfection.

The leader of the Mantai people was already enraged.

After his anger overcame him, he became sluggish, and at this moment, if he could manage his emotions, perhaps he could find a solution.

His horn was gone, but he could have taken another from a knight nearby. Such a problem was actually quite simple and easy to solve.

But the Mantai Leader was already blinded by fury; he felt that Douglas was incredibly despicable. Stealing his weapon, his mount, his horn — the things most important to him were all stolen by Douglas. It was a humiliation, a disgrace to his Mantai blood.

He must capture Douglas alive, drain his blood, tear out his tendons, and flay his skin.

The leader of the Tramplers was extremely angry, his eyes red, drawing his scimitar, charging like a madman.

He sought to exact the harshest revenge on Douglas, to ensure that this guy dies a miserable death.

However, many things did not go as the Trampler leader had imagined; not everything would proceed according to his fantasy.

He wanted to attack Douglas, but what obstructed him was that peculiar entity. He couldn’t understand why the rarity stood by Douglas, nor had he anticipated these few would align against them. Especially that drunkard, who turned out to be an Alchemist, an astonishing revelation beyond his wildest imaginings.

But now, he didn’t have the luxury to think too much; that rarity’s longsword was right before him, which was indeed troubling.

If it weren’t for his mount being somewhat uncooperative, could these bastards still stand there unharmed? They would have been stomped flat by now by his beast. Thinking of his beast, fury consumed him more, and he swung his scimitar even more fiercely.

Igor’s longsword was already poised for attack; in this chaotic melee, he no longer feared such cavalry charges. He had to thank the earlier resistance; without it, he would never have adapted to the intensity of such attacks. Now, he was quite familiar with these cavalry assaults.

Clang, clang, clang, the sound of clashing weapons allowed Igor to feel the powerful strength of this Mantai leader, which was not inferior to that of a High-Rank Fighter. In some sense, the physical conditions of the Mantai people were exceptional; people from the Kayne Realm needed professional training to match such physiques, a hard-to-reconcile discrepancy.

One round, two rounds, three rounds...

The Mantai Leader grew more anxious; he found that, despite the rarity’s frail appearance, his overall offensive capability was quite strong.

He couldn’t even bypass this rarity, so how could he deal with Douglas?

At that moment, Douglas roamed freely on his mount through the ranks, making no special moves, yet his subordinates were scattered, seemingly affected emotionally by him...

Upon realizing this, it struck him.

So, this was Douglas’s tactic all along, using emotions to dictate their rhythm.

Unfortunately, without his horn, he couldn’t issue commands. Trying to borrow one was thwarted by that rarity, a truly troublesome situation.

Once more, emotions surged.

When emotions surged, the rhythm was lost, the rhythm lost, the entire memory of the plan was scrambled.

Now, the leader of the Mantai people didn’t know what to do anymore.

Everything was in disarray; they forgot what they originally intended to do.

The Mantai people were entangled together in chaos, clueless about what to do.

No leader, no horn, relying solely on brute strength to entangle with these things.

The whole world was in complete chaos.

Suddenly, a thunderous boom.

The sound was like a thunderbolt from the blue, waking the Mantai people from their haze.

They suddenly realized they were surrounded!

Surrounded! Surrounded!

It was unbelievable; initially, they were the ones surrounding others, how could they now be the ones surrounded?

Even though there were only three opponents, the vast number of Exchange Beasts, like a sea, surrounded the Mantai people.

How did this happen? Why did this happen? It was indeed bewildering!

Countless questions burst in the minds of the Mantai warriors.

But the Mantai people were battle-hardened; they wouldn’t surrender due to a mere encirclement. They regained their composure, controlled their mounts, and slowly formed a defense formation.

Clang—steel blades once again uniformly raised skyward as they aimed to defend their honor.

”I really admire these Mantai people,” the eccentric Alchemist said leisurely.

This eccentric didn’t disappoint, writing an immense equation during this time to summon a large army of Exchange Beasts.

This army charged directly at the Mantai people, momentum unyielding.

Igor and Douglas had already retreated, for they realized there was no longer a need to cause disruption or disturb the opponent’s rhythm.

These Exchange Beasts were combat-type Exchange Beasts, exceptionally fierce, and in numbers, they could be described as overwhelming.

”These Mantai people’s willpower isn’t as steadfast as imagined; they’ll likely collapse after two waves,” Douglas said softly, seemingly quite knowledgeable about the Mantai Empire’s situations.

”These Mantai are merely outcasts, naturally lacking the willpower compared to the Wind Chaser squads,” the Alchemist agreed with Douglas.

Igor, however, was bewildered, unsure what to say, because he observed that under the assault of the Exchange Beasts, the Mantai people who initially resisted fiercely suddenly appeared meek.

The Mantai people were even starting to throw down their steel blades… undoubtedly abandoning themselves!
