One-Eyed Monster

Douglas was not only fast but also precise. He quickly targeted the Mantai leader’s steed, which was truly remarkable. Although this steed looked special, it was astonishing to see it being mounted by someone charging from the opposite side amid high-speed movement.

Soon, the leader’s steed was tamed by Douglas.

However, Douglas was surrounded by these cavalry, making it impossible for him to escape now.

”Beast, your master is here.” The Trampler leader shouted to the steed under Douglas’s saddle. At this moment, the leader was forced to mount another Gray Plain Wolf, while the original owner of this Gray Plain Wolf had to share a ride with others.

Douglas removed the blindfold covering the Gray Plain Wolf’s eyes and softly said, ”The world is so beautiful, yet you’re blinded. It’s truly cruel!”

”Douglas, if you surrender my Wolf Rider, I’ll let you live.” The Trampler leader was furious because steeds were like clothes to the Mantai people, and once accustomed to them, they were reluctant to let go. So, this leader was very frustrated; first, his sword was inexplicably taken, and now his steed was stolen for no reason. This feeling was worse than swallowing flies, nearly driving him to collapse.

”Who said this is your steed? It’s free now; it’s my friend.” Douglas said gently, completely ignoring the surrounding enemies.

”Such courage.” The strange spectator once again praised Douglas. This was not the first time the stranger admired Douglas, always leaving Igor baffled.

At this moment, Igor felt a mix of emotions, because initially, the Trampler’s attention at the tavern was directed at him, and the whole matter originally had nothing to do with Douglas. Douglas could have continued to hide his identity and leave.

Yet, now Douglas was embroiled in this fierce battle, which made people feel somewhat ironic. Igor felt a bit ashamed.

His own matters now involved someone unrelated, making Igor feel uncomfortable.

This can’t go on.

Igor said to himself, watching Douglas fend off the curved blades of those cavalry.

If not for the steed under Douglas being the leader’s Gray Plain Wolf, he would probably have already become a mincemeat in this situation.

These Trampler cavalry were apprehensive, fearing their curved blades might harm their leader’s steed. They cautiously used their blades to strike Douglas, but Douglas was always dodging left and right, extremely agile, often holding onto the Wolf Rider. This unyielding method of non-resistance made the Wolf Cavalry revolve around him.

Igor was very shocked by this scene, because from the current scenario, Douglas’s skills could allow him to escape without fear of these Trampler’s attacks. Yet, Douglas never fled, as if he believed there was an important matter waiting for him to finish here.

Igor thought and realized something. Douglas didn’t leave because he thought these Mantai would destroy the tavern.

If the Wolf Cavalry went berserk, the tavern would indeed turn to ashes...

This Douglas stayed perhaps genuinely for the sake of the tavern. Earlier, he was also the one who led these people outside...

Outside this small town was mostly open fields, very spacious. Behind the tavern was the town itself, meaning the tavern was the entrance to the town, and crossing the tavern led to the town.

In a way, Douglas was also saving the town...

Igor found this unbelievable, then contemplating his motionless stance, feeling it didn’t justify Douglas. When Douglas stood up from his position, there was no hesitation. Why was Igor now unwilling to step forward?

It was his peculiar presence that drew the attention of those Tramplers. Without him, Douglas wouldn’t have exposed himself!

Thinking about this made Igor feel truly ashamed.

So, he quickly grabbed his Meteor Sword, charging in without hesitation. He had to share the burden with Douglas. After all, he caused this entire matter, even though he still couldn’t figure out how he landed in such a situation.

The power of the Wolf Cavalry was undoubtedly significant. At this moment, they began to circle Douglas, unable to harm the steed, adopting a draining tactic. Dust billowed around, blurring the scene.

When Igor charged over, some Wolf Cavalry separated to greet him. Igor swung a Sword Qi, causing the Wolf Riders to tremble after taking the strike, then wildly pouncing at Igor again.

Igor couldn’t withstand such an impact and had to roll awkwardly to the side.

But the Wolf Riders wouldn’t spare this courageous young man, slashing directly with a curved blade. Mantai people atop Wolf Riders were many times braver, a fact that puzzled many. However, it was the reality. Just like now, Douglas atop the Wolf Rider could only dodge, and even attacking was clumsy, but the Mantai people could effortlessly wield their blades without any difficulty.

Igor resorted to Spirit Defense to barely withstand the Wolf Cavalry’s blade, appearing extremely downtrodden, unable to fight the Wolf Riders further, only managing to keep escaping. However, escaping wasn’t an option, since his speed paled compared to the Wolf Cavalry...

Now, it felt like the Wolf Cavalry were toying with Igor.

”Brothers, don’t hesitate, chop down this beast and Douglas together!” The Mantai leader was furious, no longer willing to keep circling endlessly, as it made him dizzy.

Upon this command, the Mantai people became excited, howling as if their blades thirsted for action.

Seeing the unfavorable situation, Douglas quickly tugged the Gray Plain Wolf’s fur, indicating it to charge forth.

This Gray Plain Wolf was originally a leader, and having gone through the recent experiences, it accepted its new master. Thus, it let out a low growl and suddenly leaped forward.

With one leap, it jumped over the encirclement, truly worthy of being the leader among Gray Plain Wolves.

However, the Mantai Wolf Cavalry were not unprepared. When the leader wolf broke through, their blades still sliced towards the leader wolf.

Howling... The Gray Plain Wolf turned and let out a low growl, forcing the Wolf Rider’s steeds to step back. It bared its teeth, dripping blood, exhibiting a fierce presence!
