One-Eyed Monster

Kadi’s dual swords were as fast as lightning, but the Puppet Monster’s defense was impregnable, and the smoke rose up, completely wrapping around the monster’s body.

The dual swords swept through the smoke, which then returned to envelop the swords, and in an instant, Kadi was tangled in a smoky battle.

”Only by constantly gaining strength can one stand firm, otherwise you will always be someone else’s plaything!” The Puppet Monster seemed to have had a nerve struck, and its words became increasingly plentiful.

”Kadi is right, you talk too much!” Igor’s sword blocked Ruben’s attack, making it difficult for him to spare a moment to help Kadi against the smoke, and to make matters worse, Igor saw the big guy slowly getting up from the ground, his hand bones broken, yet Grim was moaning while making his way toward Master Lao.

This can’t go on, Igor thought silently, but for some reason, Ruben’s attack had clearly reached a higher level than before, making it tougher for Igor to handle.

He must protect Master Lao at all costs, Igor thought. So he began to unleash his spirit power, giving it his all.

The sword in Igor’s hand suddenly began to hum, surprising Igor, who was initially feeling a bit anxious; what is happening with this sword?

”Your sword, its sword spirit has awakened!” Master Lao exclaimed beside him, completely ignoring the imminent danger.

Igor flicked his wrist, the sword raised, and a burst of Sword Qi suddenly soared into the air, flying swiftly toward the front!

This is the sword spirit? Igor was immensely shocked as a shining orb of light hovered around him like a pet.

”Amazing!” The Puppet Monster’s eyes gleamed with greed, ”I want to capture you all!”

Instantly, Grim, originally rushing towards Master Lao, suddenly changed direction, charging straight at Igor.

”This minion trained with brute force; I gave him an iron-like body, and now he is a juggernaut!” The Puppet Monster’s fingers fluttered, and soon Grim, like a moving iron mountain, smashed towards Igor.

Igor’s figure shifted, and with a swing of his sword, there was a loud crash as Grim was sent crashing in another direction, instantly toppling the building he smashed into.

Before the fight began, people around the tavern kept their distance. Although some patrons were curious, they fled as the Puppet Monster began transforming, leaving Igor in a rare position where he could fight freely.

As Igor wielded the sword, he felt the bright orb by his side humming, as if it wanted to help.

But at this moment, Igor was still unsure what this orb formed by Sword Qi really was, and he hadn’t tried to communicate with it yet...

The Puppet Monster remained excited, as if it had seen something extraordinary: ”None of these minions could achieve the opening of spiritual power; I got lucky bumping into treasures like you!”

”You’re talking nonsense!” Igor deflected Ruben’s attack and slashed Sword Qi at the monster.

Grim’s body was used as a shield again, and Igor’s Sword Qi was absorbed in.

”You are a Soul Devourer, you’ve taken over a Puppet Master’s body!” Igor stated.

”Ha ha ha, you figured it out!” The Puppet Monster laughed, ”Too bad that arrogant Soul Devourer would let the entire Border Realm collapse!”

Indeed, as Igor suspected, the Puppet Monster and the Soul Devourer Master were in league, the true enemies lurking behind the scenes!

”To confirm this spirit core, I’ve been verifying for a long time, previously keeping these minions from attacking because I hadn’t confirmed if this was the spirit core I was searching for, until, ha ha ha, he forged those two rusty swords for you that I was finally sure!” The Puppet Monster babbled at this moment.

Previous struggles with the smoke were all to ensure if Master Lao was indeed who he was looking for...

”Stop rambling, you didn’t attack because your energy cycle wasn’t saturated, so you couldn’t unleash your Control Spell, and you knew these minions couldn’t defeat us.” At this moment, Igor had already cut through Sims’ Sea of Fire attack, sending Sword Qi towards the smoking old man.

”You saw through that too!” The Puppet Monster seemed a bit incredulous.

”Igor, avoid unnecessary talk with him.” Kadi’s swift blade dance caused the nearby smoke to scatter chaotically.

”I saw it from you slowly devouring the bits of Exotic Fire Kadi released.”

”Ha ha ha, you noticed that, but that’s not entirely accurate. I only barely awakened, if it weren’t for insufficient blood supply, you would have become my minions long ago!” The Puppet Monster retorted; earlier the smoke group had brought him a maiden just to help restore his strength, and her life was thusly squandered!

”We will make you pay for your crimes, you fight for your own benefit, for your strength, but not us! We fight for what’s in our hearts.”

”Well said!” Although Master Lao felt he couldn’t be a mere observer, he regrettably could do nothing but cheer alongside Igor without causing disruption.

”Your fine words won’t escape your fate as my minions.” The Puppet Monster dismissed Igor’s efforts. His arm lifted, fingers flickering, evidently controlling those puppets!

As part of the Smoke Quad, they now unleashed their full potential, continually attacking Igor and the others.

The combat level escalated, Igor understood it was an inevitable result of the Puppet Master’s energy cycle reaching a peak; those puppets’ attack level rose with the Puppet Master’s energy, and only severing the thread linking the puppets and their master could truly stop this bastard!

”Kadi, don’t engage unnecessarily!” Igor activated his Ghostly Steps, ”Cover me!”

”Alright!” Kadi immediately somersaulted; having fought the smoke for a long time, the smoke couldn’t harm him, nor could he exhaust it.

Igor unleashed his spirit power, planning to enhance vision, whether Eagle Eye or Detection, at this moment he must find that linked thread!

”Master, take care temporarily!” Igor told Kadi, his eyes had turned white!
