One-Eyed Monster

Igor strode toward the Soul Devourer Master without a trace of fear.

He now had the Spirit Binding Net on him, naturally repelling energy, and this feeling was truly exhilarating.

He could now face this Soul Devourer Master directly. Although he couldn’t release his own energy, the embodiment of his gathered consciousness was also locked within this Spirit Binding Net.

Now he could go and taunt the Soul Devourer Master!

Face-to-face taunting would inevitably infuriate people, and Igor now aimed to make this Soul Devourer Master furious. Lonely people are actually very afraid of loneliness, and by starting from this angle, Igor believed he could certainly deal a blow to this Soul Devourer Master.

This attack was psychological, which Igor felt would be very effective. If his words were appropriate, it should naturally lead this Soul Devourer Master to self-torture.

Did the Soul Devourer Master not say before? That only he could defeat himself in this Border Realm? Now, Igor aimed to touch the switch that would lead him to self-destruction!

Igor was confident in completing this task; this was the expectation of the Resistance Alliance for him!

After explaining the situation to Sol earlier, Sol had, without a word, unlocked the shackles on that skeleton knight, without the slightest hesitation, a complete show of trust in him. Of course, his Stone Attack had indeed brought light to all the Resistors, giving everyone a glimmer of hope, so Sol trusted in what Igor was about to do next, feeling that Igor was naturally here to help him!

Initially, Igor thought Sol should use the Spirit Binding Net, as Sol was familiar with this thing. However, Sol ultimately suggested that Igor put it on himself. Since the Spirit Binding Net would limit the use of the whole ability, Sol, being the greatest force here, could absorb many of the threatening Energy Light Balls for these Resistors, so he couldn’t wear this contraption.

Igor had no choice but to put it on himself. Having worn it before, Igor wasn’t too averse to it. Thanks were due to the skeleton knight and those few High Rank Soul Devourers—if it weren’t for their relentless attempts to bind Igor with this Spirit Binding Net, he wouldn’t have familiarized himself with it so quickly.

Now, Igor felt no different except for being unable to release or absorb energy.

This Spirit Binding Net seemed to lock the shell formed by the energy; this much energy neither decreased nor increased. Igor’s entire movement now was almost like in the normal world, creating something akin to a feeling of fatigue. This fixed energy continuously circulated in this shell, automatically pausing and resuming at intervals. It’s like physical stamina—intense exercise demands some rest to recover. In the real world, energy recovery requires replenishment, while under the Spirit Binding Net it’s automatic cooling and then resumption. The theory seems similar, but control wasn’t easy; Igor took quite a while to adapt, being so close to the Soul Devourer Master yet taking so long to reach him.

Igor’s stumbling and laborious appearance made the Soul Devourer Master think it was due to the Agent of Destruction’s power beginning to control the boy’s consciousness, causing his struggle. Little did he know that Igor was actually adapting to the Spirit Binding Net on him.

The Soul Devourer Master felt a bit exuberant. He knew this emotion wasn’t good, but he couldn’t help it. Even though he claimed to have no emotions, he couldn’t completely discard them; he just abandoned those emotions that hindered his actions.

Igor’s appearance was indeed funny; he was striding boldly, yet his steps were chaotic, swaying, looking as if he was resisting himself with all his might against walking in that direction.

”No need to hurry, you’ll eventually come around,” the Soul Devourer Master couldn’t help but say. Thinking of having lured someone in with his power alone made him proud, even though he knew part of this was due to the influence of the Agent of Destruction’s power. However, this was the first time someone actively sought him out, making him ecstatic.

The Spirit Binding Net was really a good thing. When he got to that world, he’d definitely ask the Agent of Destruction for a bit more…

Before the Soul Devourer Master could indulge in his excitement, Igor had staggered right up to him!

”Haha, you’ve decided to join me, haven’t you? It’s not too late; follow me, and you’ll walk freely in that world!” The Soul Devourer Master offered Igor a big temptation, but Igor remained unmoved.

By now, Igor had gradually adapted to the effect of the Spirit Binding Net and could control his shell freely.

Seeing the Soul Devourer Master’s ingratiating attitude disgusted him—completely the face of a scoundrel.

”No one will follow you. You’ll always be alone,” Igor felt this statement held immense power, yet the Soul Devourer Master remained unaffected.

This caught Igor off guard. Igor thought to himself, this wasn’t what he imagined—why was the Soul Devourer Master reacting so indifferently?

”What do you mean by loneliness?” The Soul Devourer Master stared blankly at Igor, his expression unchanged.

Igor didn’t know what to say. He felt his verbal attack wasn’t effective enough.

Regardless of sarcasm or any other form of verbal attack, Igor seemed to fall short.

”Speak, why aren’t you saying anything? Have you spent so long over there that you value emotions too highly, leaving you unable to adjust? Let me tell you, just see them all as energy!”

?? Igor felt strange—what did it mean to see others as energy?

”Energy, you can gain it if you want and release it if you don’t; here, it’s inexhaustible!”

”Your perspective is really odd!”

”It’s not odd; aren’t you doing the same now? It means you’ve completely abandoned your emotions.”

”I...” Igor felt insulted, unable to tolerate anyone’s slander. He would never abandon his emotions!

”What do you mean, you? You’re strong now. Come, show them a bit of Lightning!”

”Damn you!” Igor, growing impatient at the Soul Devourer Master’s words, shoved him directly.
