Not Being a Trainer This Time

Chapter 18: Chapter 17: The Cyclizar of the Past, the Koraidon of the Future

Electroweb, catch the opponent with an electrically charged web, also capable of reducing the opponent’s speed.

Have to say, this Caterpie’s luck is unbelievably good.

Caterpie was quite surprised by its own transformation.

From the events of the past two days, it roughly understood that its changes were due to food.

Food can make it stronger!

Caterpie immediately looked at Naoki expectantly.

”No way!” Naoki shook his head: ”Too much greed leads to no gain. Master the move you understood today before trying anything new!”

Besides, the more important point is that the cooking effect of the [Berry Platter] is uncontrollable.

No one can guarantee what might happen after continuous consumption.

This time it got lucky and learned Electroweb, but next time, it might experience bad luck and forget all its moves completely.

”Hiss...”

Caterpie thought about it and realized that what he said made perfect sense, so it immediately decided to practice this newly learned powerful move diligently, to master it completely.

Only then can it become stronger!

Caterpie was filled with determination.

But before that, it had to properly thank Naoki.

”Hiss~”

Caterpie affectionately tapped Naoki’s arm with its antenna, expressing its gratitude.

Naoki smiled and said to it, ”Go rest for a bit!”

Caterpie obediently nodded, turned around, and moved to a corner to rest.

While Naoki looked down at the empty white porcelain plate.

”I must be cautious in the future, can’t make this dish casually.”

Naoki kept this in mind, worried that he might turn Cyclizar and Koraidon into idiots.

Koraidon and Cyclizar, after eating grilled fish, showed a satisfied expression, sitting on the ground licking the corners of their mouths with their tongues.

Naoki glanced at their foolish look and couldn’t help but smile.

During the rainy night, the temperature dropped, making it chilly outside.

Thanks to the lit fireplace, the room was very warm and cozy everywhere.

The three well-fed Pokemon were in such a warm environment, soon yawning and getting drowsy.

Having lazed around all day, Naoki wasn’t very sleepy at the moment.

He moved a wooden stool in front of the fireplace, sat down, and began drawing on the signposts, based on the designs in the ”Pasture Encyclopedia,” for the crops he had planted.

Naoki carved with great dedication.

The flickering flames in the fireplace outlined his shadow, softly shimmering on the wall behind him.

Caterpie was already snoring.

Resting beside the bed, Cyclizar lifted its head to look this way, noticing Naoki hadn’t come over to sleep for a long time, it got up and moved closer.

The firelight cast a red glow on Cyclizar’s body, and Naoki turned his head to glance at it.

”Gyaoo~”

Cyclizar yawned, then obediently lay down beside Naoki, accompanying him in his work.

Seeing this, Naoki felt a warmth in his heart, smiled, and was about to continue his work when he heard Koraidon’s footsteps behind him.

Turning his head, he saw Koraidon coming over and lying down on his other side, just like Cyclizar.

Koraidon looked displeased at Cyclizar.

Damn it, it got ahead of me!

Staying by the master’s side, Cyclizar completely relaxed, closing its eyes and falling asleep peacefully, not noticing Koraidon’s gaze at all.

Seeing this, Koraidon felt like it punched a pillow.

Koraidon sighed, lay on the floor, resting its head on its front paws, and past memories floated in its mind.

It recalled not long after it arrived by Naoki’s side, it also encountered a Koraidon.

At that time, it didn’t know, but thinking about it now, that Koraidon should have been itself.

Later on, as a Cyclizar, it fell into a Time Machine and was transformed into Koraidon by mysterious forces.

So, the question arises, will this Cyclizar, like its former self, turn into Koraidon?

Thinking about it, Koraidon felt its head getting muddled like paste.

It didn’t know why it turned out this way, nor could it understand, even struggling to distinguish who was who.

Is it Koraidon... or Cyclizar?

Koraidon got itself all confused, feeling like stars were spinning above its head, finally giving up thinking about it.

Anyhow, as long as it can return to Naoki, that’s all that matters.

Hearing Koraidon’s sigh beside him, Naoki turned his head and couldn’t help but ask, ”Why are you suddenly sighing?”

Could King Wings also have something troubling?

Could it be because it lost to another Koraidon in territorial disputes?

Recalling the game’s storyline, Naoki comforted, ”Don’t worry, when you recover, you’ll surely defeat that guy.”

Although he didn’t have Secret Spice, the dishes he made shouldn’t be too bad, there’s bound to be a dish that can help Koraidon regain its strength.

Naoki was full of confidence, but Koraidon was filled with questions.

”Gawoo?”

Naoki encouraged, ”Don’t overthink it, we’ll definitely find another way!”

”Gyhiss~”

Seeing Naoki’s demeanor, Koraidon couldn’t help but feel happy.

It leaned forward, and then slobbered Naoki’s face with a set of licks.

Naoki struggled to push it away, purposely putting on a stern face, ”Don’t just lick people whenever you like in the future.”

Seeing Naoki angry, Koraidon’s face immediately showed a pitiful expression.

Naoki: ”...”

Sigh, whatever, let it be!

————

At dawn the next day, the fireplace had already gone out.

The rain had stopped, and the sky had returned to its usual clarity.

Naoki stepped out of the wooden house, breathing in the fresh air outside, immediately feeling refreshed.

He stretched, ready to start a new day!

Putting on shoes and holding the prepared signposts, Naoki went to the farmland and placed the signposts in front of the corresponding crops.

Just after the rain, large and small water droplets still clung to the leaves of the trees.

While Naoki was working, Caterpie came outside, crawled up a big tree, and started eating fresh leaves while watching Naoki and Cyclizar and Koraidon helping nearby.

It must work hard to get stronger, not only to prove to those Pokemon who looked down on it that it is not weak, but also to thank Naoki. Only by evolving into the most powerful Butterfree can it truly lend Naoki a hand!

So, after eating a few leaves, Caterpie started practicing its Electroweb by itself.

With the signposts in place, Naoki took Koraidon and Cyclizar to the west of the pasture.

That place hadn’t been taken care of yet, with weeds and trees growing everywhere, appearing very messy.

Coming over this time, Naoki planned to cut down all the trees in this area to build the Chicken House.

He had saved enough funds for the construction, only needing wood and stone.

In at most two days, he’ll be able to go to Porto Marinada Town and hire Keri at the carpenter shop to help build the Chicken House, starting the farming venture.
