Chapter 110: The Sword of Infinity

Ethan asked Elder Valkan if there were any phenomena during awakening.

Elder Valkan said there were phenomena. The circle would light up with the color of his soul; it would start sucking energy voraciously. If the grade of the soul was high, even people within that range of area would be alerted. But that was only for souls above Green grade.

Ethan also asked what the range of area was from which a soul would absorb energy.

For Green grade, it was a 300-meter radius. For Blue grade, it was 1 kilometer. For Purple, it became 5 kilometers. And for Violet, Valkan didn’t know the exact range, but it should be around 50–80 kilometers in radius.

Besides, the person going through the awakening process would also be able to see his soul and the color it was radiating.

Ethan was looking at the majestic, tiny black sword,at the size of his palm, floating in his heart, in another space like the core.

The moment it was born, it started absorbing energy crazily. The range wasn’t just 100 km,it was Ethan who forced the sword to stop at 100. If it absorbed more, he might alert the old fossils from other regions with bad intensions, which he was not ready to face yet.

The sword was still absorbing energy, but the energy was now being supplied from the system.

Besides, the sword didn’t have any color radiation like Valkan said it should have.

It was floating there like a sole emperor.

As for why did the circle showed dark violet color,it was probably the limit of this circle, any higher level,it won’t be able to show them.

”Perhaps there are other higher grades I don’t know of yet.” Ethan thought.

Then Ethan heard a system notification.

[Ding! You have awakened ”The Sword of Infinity”]

Sigh! As expected of me. Something cool has awakened. Let’s see who you are.

Sword of Infinity: There are 9 levels of this sword. Each level would be upgraded by absorbing energy.

1st level – 10 times

2nd level – 50 times

3rd level – 100 times

4th level – 500 times

5th level – 1000 times

6th level – 5000 times

7th level – 10000 times

8th level – 50000 times

9th level – 1 million times

This was the amplification rate of the sword in each level. What made it the Sword of Infinity while not having an infinite amplification was because the sword would amplify power in every realm. No restrictions.

There were no upper limits like normal weapons, where they become unusable after breaking through a certain realm.

Besides, the higher the realm, the higher the difficulty for a weapon to amplify power. For example, if a Universe Realm powerhouse got news that there was a weapon that might be able to give him 10x amplification, he would become crazy. Yes, literally become crazy. And if others found out, there would be a universal war for the weapon.

As in the Universe Realm, 2x or 3x amplification was caused by top-level artifacts. And an Origin Artifact might only be able to amplify 5x of the power of a Universe Realm. But that same can’t be said for the Supremes. The universe simply didn’t have anything that could amplify the power of a Supreme by 5 times.

Here comes the Sword of Infinity. It would amplify his power the same in the Universe Realm, Supreme Realm, or even higher.

The sword was passively absorbing energy. When enough was gathered, it would upgrade to the next level. Ethan didn’t know how long it might take, but it would take immense time—especially for the later levels, that’s for sure.

Ethan was satisfied. The world of the Ancients didn’t disappoint him. His mental domain already covered the entire mountain range and beyond. So naturally he could see what were infront him now. There were now 10 old fossils looking at him, though their power level was around 5 Suns at most. So he wasn’t much worried. His power was at 80 Suns. No comparison at all.

He slowly opened his eyes and acted like he was surprised to see those old monsters.

There was a look of panic in his eyes. Great actor.

The most senior one came immediately and said, ”Don’t be afraid, Ryan. We are just some of your grandpas from this sect. No need to be so panicked. We came to check who was awakening, that’s all. Right?” the old man asked the other old men.

They also smiled and said, ”Right, right.”

The old man smiled again and said, ”I am Zerelith Malquer, the 2nd Ancestor of this sect. If you don’t mind, can you tell us which soul you have awakened?”

Ethan said, ”It’s a sword.”

Zerelith smiled radiantly, ”Good, very good.”

There were many types of souls. Even if the grade was higher, the types also mattered. For fighting, weapon souls were the best.

Zerelith then looked back solemnly. ”I am Zerelith Malquer, the 2nd Ancestor of the Overlord Sect, hereby declare that today’s phenomenon should be a taboo to speak of. No one is permitted to ever mention this phenomenon, or else you would become a traitor of the sect and would be hunted down. From this day on, Ryan Hunt would become the Divine Son of the Overlord Sect, whose authority level is at the same level as the Sect Master.”

It was like a holy decree. Everyone heard this decree in their minds. They felt awed and reverent, as this was the first time they heard the ancestor’s voice. They were surprised at what might have happened but didn’t know anything, so after the decree, they totally didn’t dare to inquire any further. As for the Divine Son, they were really curious but also didn’t inquire.

Ethan also heard the decree. Huh. I truly became someone at the Sect Master level. Let’s see what old man Valkan has to say. Hehe.

Zerelith looked at Ethan and said, ”Are you happy, Ryan? If you have any request, you can ask. And take this token. It would allow you to come to the Ancestor Land without any obstruction.”

Ethan took the token. He didn’t know how long he would have to stay in this world. He needed a base. So he would make the Overlord Sect the real overlord of this world.

Anywhere Ethan Hunt goes becomes his territory. This was the thought process of him now.

Meanwhile, on Earth, Ethan opened his eyes.

”Why do I feel like something really good happened?”

He muttered under his breath. It had already been 2 days since he broke through. He looked at his panel.
