Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 943: Chapter 943: A Day as a Teacher (12)

Meng Yu was the first to finish running. He propped up his knees, gasping for air, with sweat streaming down his cheeks.

He lifted his head slightly and looked towards the fence of the playground.

The young boy who was there earlier was already gone.

Gradually, others finished their ten laps and stopped beside Meng Yu: ”Brother Yu, why are we listening to her?”

”She’s not as easy to deal with as the other teachers,” Meng Yu said. ”Let’s observe for now.”

Everyone exchanged a few glances.

In their first encounter, they all sensed that this teacher was different from the others.

”Is she a face-paralysis patient? I’ve never seen her show any other emotion all this time.”

”Earlier, we don’t know what she did with Zhou, look, he’s still running.”

There was only one boy left on the playground, and most students were watching him.

After the last twenty laps, Han Zhou was nearly exhausted and directly sat down on the ground.

The people beside him helped him up.

Chuzheng came over at the right moment: ”Return to the classroom.”

Meng Yu didn’t say a word, and everyone remained silent.

Han Zhou was helped back to the classroom.

There were people in the classroom.

A boy sat by the window, resting his chin on one hand and holding a pen with the other, drawing and writing, with earphones on, ignoring the people coming in one after another.

Meng Yu walked past the boy’s row. Whether it was intentional or not, he bumped into the boy’s desk.

The boy didn’t react much, merely dropped his pen, took off his earphones, and hung them around his neck.

Chuzheng closed the classroom door.

The classroom rustled; Chuzheng stood on the podium waiting, exuding a chill, making the class quiet down involuntarily.

”Rebelliousness and individuality are fine, but don’t get caught by me. I’m different from your previous teachers, and it’s best not to cause trouble and make things difficult for me. I don’t like dealing with troublesome things.”

”...”

Ding-a-ling-ling—

The class bell rang appropriately.

”Class dismissed.”

As Chuzheng left the classroom, the previously quiet classroom instantly buzzed with noise.

-

Chuzheng returned to the senior three’s office and pulled out the student profiles for Class Twenty-two.

The class had a total of thirty-four students.

An even distribution of boys and girls.

Class Twenty-two gathered the most troublesome bunch in the whole grade.

Teachers were always on edge when teaching this class, terrified that something unexpected might happen at any moment.

Meng Yu.

His family was in business, quite wealthy, and he was also a leading figure in Class Twenty-two.

His grades were the best in the class.

Chuzheng flipped to the end.

Qiao Lian.

The boy in the ID photo looked very young; his features were delicate but not fully mature. This was likely taken when he first entered high school.

Qiao Lian’s family background was slightly better than Meng Yu’s, but his grades were poor, and his health wasn’t great.

He kept to himself in the class and didn’t mingle with Meng Yu’s group.

Chuzheng tapped the ID photo with her fingertip.

This time’s Good Person Card.

But...

Chuzheng looked at the age carefully.

The original owner started school young, but this year she’s already twenty-three, and Qiao Lian isn’t even eighteen yet...

The age difference was almost six years.

Chuzheng rubbed her temples with a headache.

Pills, pills.

-

Chuzheng found that this group was indeed particularly troublesome.

Other subject teachers dreaded taking lessons with this class, wishing they could resign on the spot.

After observing for two days, Chuzheng discovered that Meng Yu seemed to be the boss of the whole class; everyone listened to him.

Qiao Lian didn’t interact with the class, and no one bothered him, seemingly a bit afraid of him for some unknown reason.

Chuzheng remembered that the King’s Account mentioned a blackened Good Person Card.

So being somewhat powerful was also normal.

Chuzheng entered the classroom just as the class bell was ringing.

The classroom was quiet, with students each sitting in their own seats.

Their troublemaking wasn’t about being noisy in class.

As soon as Chuzheng walked onto the podium, a black shadow fell from above, crashing onto the podium.

The black shadow was coiled several times—it was a snake.

But it wasn’t a real snake; it was fake.

But even for a man, if a snake suddenly fell, it would be a shock.

Chuzheng looked coolly, using a book to push the snake aside. ”Class.” I’m not afraid of real snakes, and a fake one wants to scare me? Childish.

The crowd: ”...”

She wasn’t scared at all.

Is she a woman?

This trick always worked in the past.

Chuzheng: ”Turn your books to page 36.”

”Teacher, we haven’t covered the front yet...”

”I just want to cover the back, what’s wrong?” Chuzheng said confidently.

”...”

This teacher doesn’t play by the rules at all!

When class ended, Chuzheng took the snake away without any intention of holding anyone accountable.

”She’s just letting it go like this?”

”...She wasn’t afraid, is she even a woman?”

”Maybe she’s not afraid of snakes, let’s try something else next time.”

”Hmm, makes sense.”

So in the afternoon, what fell from above was replaced with a spider.

Chuzheng still didn’t say anything and wasn’t even angry, as if the incident never happened.

Chuzheng wasn’t angry or fearful, leaving the prankster students unable to find any joy, growing more sullen.

This situation continued until Friday.

The last class on Friday was the homeroom teacher’s class.

”Assemble at the zoo entrance at nine o’clock on Saturday.”

Someone curiously asked, ”Teacher, is the school organizing an event?”

”No, I’m inviting you to have some fun,” Chuzheng said. ”It won’t cost you anything, I’m covering it.”

Everyone looked at each other.

The zoo tickets weren’t expensive, and there were discounts for students.

A single ticket was nothing.

But for over thirty people, it added up to a considerable amount.

Is the new homeroom teacher this generous?

After speaking, Chuzheng let them have a self-study period, giving them enough time to discuss and imagine.

-

Saturday.

The students didn’t know what Chuzheng was planning. After a week of interaction, they were still unclear about the new homeroom teacher’s temperament.

So for this trip to the zoo, the students were quite enthusiastic and arrived one after another.

Chuzheng was waiting at the zoo entrance.

”Brother Yu, what do you think she’s up to?”

”How would I know?” Meng Yu, still groggy, was a bit grumpy at the moment.

”Do you think she’s trying to curry favor with us?”

There were teachers in the past who tried to forcibly build a good relationship with them.

But it was usually just offering water or small snacks, none ever brought them out for fun like this.

Meng Yu yawned and glanced at Chuzheng: ”I doubt it.”

At exactly nine o’clock.

Chuzheng asked the students next to her, ”Is everyone here?”

”Qiao Lian hasn’t arrived yet...”

Someone whispered.

Chuzheng scanned around; Meng Yu was here, but that solitary boy had not yet arrived.

Chuzheng took out her phone, found Qiao Lian’s number, and called.

After three rings, someone picked up: ”Hello?”

It was a very sweet girl’s voice.

Chuzheng frowned slightly.

The person on the other end continued, ”Do you know the owner of this phone? I picked it up on the subway.”

Qiao Lian had lost his phone.

The person had something to do and couldn’t bring the phone over. Chuzheng asked them to hold onto it, then hung up.

”Wait another ten minutes.”

The subway Qiao Lian was on was coming towards the zoo.
