Let’s Squander A Billion First!

Chapter 931: Chapter 931: Flirting with Ghosts (Final)

Chi Jing ignored Chuzheng for two consecutive days and refused to eat anything Chuzheng offered.

Chuzheng leaned on the table, ”Chi Jing, don’t worry, it was just that one time.”

”Who knows...”

Chi Jing shut his mouth and didn’t continue.

”I just want to have you, that’s all. If you don’t want it in the future, I won’t touch you again,” Chuzheng spoke candidly.

Chi Jing suddenly stood up, raising his voice a few degrees, ”Do you think I...”

He abruptly stopped.

After standing for a few seconds, he sat back down.

”Baby, I like you.”

”Mm.” Chuzheng responded.

”I want to do many things with you, but I can’t. I’m a ghost, we’re separated by realms, you understand?” He restrained his desires, restrained from touching the person he liked.

It’s just because he wanted her to be well.

”I can handle it.”

”I don’t want you to suffer.” Chi Jing didn’t look at Chuzheng, speaking softly, ”That night... you were very uncomfortable, I could feel it.”

The malevolence on him was too heavy.

Even if her aura was dense, she couldn’t bear such ghostly energy.

”As I said, I won’t touch you again.” Chuzheng stated.

”You promised me.”

”Mm.”

”Swear to it.”

”I swear, satisfied?”

Chuzheng pushed the food toward him, ”Can you eat now?”

-

The Underworld.

An Underworld’s Official looked at the man in front of him, a bit surprised, ”You used to refuse to cleanse the malevolence from your body, why have you changed your mind now?”

Chi Jing didn’t want to say much, ”When can it be arranged?”

The Underworld’s Official flipped through the records, ”The malevolence on you is too heavy; cleansing it completely won’t be easy. Pay first, and I’ll arrange a session for you to adapt. I’ll adjust the plan for you later.”

Chi Jing: ”...”

Penniless ghost Chi Jing didn’t want to speak.

Chi Jing returned and asked Chuzheng to burn money for him.

Even a whole carload of joss paper wouldn’t cost much; Chuzheng wasn’t too happy about this extravagant method.

But what could she do about a Good Person Card’s request?

Chuzheng found a place to buy, then hired someone to keep burning money for Chi Jing every day.

In the Underworld, Chi Jing’s account balance increased daily.

”Why is someone suddenly burning paper for Chi Jing?”

”Impossible, right? How long has it been since he died, and someone still remembers him? When he died, no one burned even a penny for him.”

”Look at this balance. I’ve never seen so much money in his account before.”

”When did his account ever have money?”

”...”

Chi Jing’s account balance kept increasing, quickly going from negative to wealthy.

In the human realm, people paid respects to ancestors and family, usually just burning a bit as a gesture.

So ghosts in the Underworld were generally poor.

Who continuously burns paper like this?

-

Cleansing the malevolence on the body isn’t easy.

The malevolence on Chi Jing came from the murders in his life, his heavy karma.

Considering he achieved many feats and died unjustly, although he became a fierce ghost, he had no intention to take revenge on society, so they allowed him to wander around.

They advised him early on to cleanse the malevolence.

If he had listened, he would have reincarnated by now and lived a good life.

Now Chi Jing wants to cleanse the accumulated malevolence of a thousand years, the pain he’ll endure is thousands of times greater than before.

-

Chuzheng recently noticed that Chi Jing’s spirit wasn’t too good, always sitting aside absent-minded.

When she asked him, he said nothing was wrong.

Chi Jing didn’t stay over with her at night anymore, so Chuzheng didn’t know what he was doing at night.

Chi Jing, perhaps sensing Chuzheng’s suspicion, didn’t behave unusually for several days, and his spirits improved a lot.

After classes, Chuzheng returned, but Chi Jing wasn’t in the dormitory and didn’t attend classes with her.

What’s up with this little rascal lately!

”Hey.”

Shi Yin poked his head from outside the window.

”What do you want now?”

Shi Yin floated inside through the window, ”Can you burn some money for me?”

”Who am I to you, to burn you money? Want me to kowtow to you too?”

”Sure... never mind that.” Shi Yin waved, ”Hehe, if you burn money for me, I’ll tell you something.”

Chuzheng looked up.

Shi Yin raised a hand, ”Something important, you won’t regret it.”

Chuzheng made a call, arranging for someone to burn some money for Shi Yin.

Shi Yin seemed to know when the money arrived in his account, immediately smiled, ”I saw your ghost guy in the Underworld yesterday, guess what he was doing?”

Chuzheng’s heart sank, ”...Fooling around with other female ghosts?”

”...”

Why do you think that!

Okay, that ghostly brother is handsome, and being bothered by female ghosts is normal.

”No, he was at the Nether Cleansing Pool.”

”Doing what?”

”You don’t even know?”

Chuzheng: ”I’m human.”

Shi Yin: ”...” Forgot that.

Shi Yin explained to Chuzheng the Nether Cleansing Pool’s function.

The Nether Cleansing Pool in the Underworld is for cleansing the malevolence and resentment from a ghost.

To reincarnate, one must pass this step first.

Otherwise, they cannot return to the human realm.

But the Nether Cleansing Pool is priced clearly; different prices offer different services.

The higher the price, the cleaner the malevolence is washed away; if there’s no inherent sin, one can reincarnate well.

If the malevolence isn’t thoroughly cleansed, even reincarnated, one would still live poorly due to various reasons.

Of course, ordinary ghosts don’t need to go through this procedure.

”Is he planning to abandon you to reincarnate?” Shi Yin gossiped, asking Chuzheng, ”Good-looking ghosts really can’t be trusted. But I’m great, I guarantee I won’t reincarnate, just stay with you forever. How about it, thoughtful enough?”

Chuzheng roughly guessed why Chi Jing needed the money.

-

”Chi Jing, can you still hang on?”

Chi Jing’s complexion didn’t look good, his brows slightly furrowed as he dressed and nodded, ”Mm.”

The Underworld’s Official registered a few notes and then left.

Chi Jing buttoned his cuffs and walked out.

His steps halted abruptly.

In the flow of ghosts outside, the girl stood there with hands in pockets, looking dashing.

Chi Jing almost thought his eyes were playing tricks on him.

He walked down the stairs in a few strides, ”Why are you here, get out now.”

”What are you doing here?”

”Let’s talk outside.” Chi Jing scanned the surroundings, afraid a ghost would discover she was a mortal soul.

Mortal souls have no right to enter the Underworld. If found, they face penalties at best, or might never return at worst.

”Talk now.”

Chuzheng’s tone clearly indicated she wouldn’t leave if he didn’t talk.

Chi Jing pulled Chuzheng to a corner, ”I... want to cleanse the malevolence off me so it won’t be so uncomfortable for you to be with me.”

Chi Jing said, ”Just like when you’re with that female ghost, there wouldn’t be much of a feeling.”

He didn’t want any intimate acts.

He just wanted to kiss and hold her without worrying that prolonged contact would harm her.

”I don’t mind...”

”Baby, I mind. I want to give you better.”

Chuzheng fell silent, ”Does it hurt?”

”I’m okay.” Chi Jing smiled, ”Seeing you, I’m not uncomfortable anymore.”

Chuzheng didn’t want Chi Jing to suffer.

But she knew if she stopped him, he wouldn’t be happy either.

”How much longer?”

Chi Jing smiled, ”Very soon, baby, wait for me.”

Chuzheng responded with an ’mm.’

Chi Jing sighed, ”Once you die and become a ghost, we can be together forever, never apart again.”

”...” Wishful thinking; once I’m dead, this dimensional plane would end.

-

What Chi Jing said about very soon wasn’t the case at all.

Whenever Chi Jing returned, he looked like something had happened to him, which irritated Chuzheng.

”Stop going.”

”Baby?” Chi Jing didn’t understand and then seriously said, ”I’ve already paid; I can’t let it go to waste.”

”...”

Is this a matter of money?!

Chi Jing held Chuzheng, ”Look, am I not as cold as before?”

Chuzheng: ”...”

It took a while for her to respond with a sound.

Chi Jing persisted, and there was nothing Chuzheng could do.

After all, this being a ghost, he could fly off at any moment.

Besides transferring money to him, there was nothing else Chuzheng could do.

This situation persisted until Chuzheng graduated from college.

Chi Jing finally completed his last session.

Chi Jing, who had been resisting Chuzheng all this time, finally initiated something intimate that night.

”Baby...”

Chi Jing cautiously observed Chuzheng, ”How do you feel?”

”Hurry up.”

Chuzheng urged him.

Chi Jing: ”...”

Can’t you show some restraint!

Thinking back on how Chuzheng had once drugged him...

Forget it.

How could she understand what restraint is?
