Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 711: Chapter 711 Thoughts

”Uncle Wang! Now that you mention it, I know what’s going on! That guy is probably after our family’s treasure. To think I actually considered letting him into the house!” Zheng Xiao exclaimed angrily to Uncle Wang.

”So, should we still go after him?” Uncle Wang asked. ”That fellow is quite powerful. If we actually capture him and bring him back, I’m afraid our treasure might be at risk.”

Uncle Wang wasn’t joking. He could sense that Ye Qingchen hadn’t used his full strength during their fight. If they weren’t on guard against him, the treasure could be stolen from right under their noses.

However, Zheng Xiao’s face was full of disdain. ”Of course we’re going to capture him! How dare he covet our family’s treasure! This matter won’t be settled so easily!”

Zheng Xiao had initially only intended to recruit Ye Qingchen, but now it seemed things between them would not be heading in that direction.

「Elsewhere, in the back mountains.」

Xiao Xiao radiated an aura of death, silently staring at the people fleeing from her.

”No, it can’t be... That was such a powerful Monster Beast, and this woman just killed it! She’s terrifying! Absolutely terrifying!” one of them gasped while running.

They had taken the opportunity to escape from the side of the cave while Xiao Xiao was dealing with the Monster Beast. But before they had gotten far, they heard a bloodcurdling scream, followed by a massive thud.

They immediately had a bad feeling. Before they could see what had happened, Xiao Xiao had already appeared a short distance away. The person running at the very back was so panicked he was on the verge of tears.

”No! Please don’t kill me! Won’t somebody save me?!”

It was unclear whether his cries were too loud or if Xiao Xiao had a sudden change of heart. As they continued to run, they suddenly realized the figure chasing them had vanished.

”Hey, wait! Hold on! That woman... I think she’s gone!” one of them shouted.

They looked back and, seeing that Xiao Xiao was truly gone, were completely bewildered.

”What happened? She was chasing us so fiercely just a moment ago. Why would she just stop?”

Distrustful and terrified, they didn’t dare turn back.

”Ah, forget it!” another said. ”Isn’t it a good thing she’s not chasing us anymore? Let’s go! Let’s get out of here! If she suddenly reappears, we’ll be dead before we know it!”

Not daring to linger, the group scrambled toward the outer regions of the mountains.

Xiao Xiao had not actually intended to let them go, but she had discovered something far more interesting. The great beast that controlled all the other Monster Beasts in the back mountains was nearby.

With a strange red glint in her eyes, a brilliant idea formed in Xiao Xiao’s mind. I’ll control the largest Monster Beast and incite a rampage among all the beasts in these mountains! The sole purpose of that rampage will be to attack the Zheng Family... to make them pay for capturing Ye Qingchen!

This thought grew stronger and stronger in her mind. It was so overwhelming that she completely ignored the people she had almost caught and turned to run in a different direction.

”Hey, big guy! I need your help with something!”

Xiao Xiao quickly found the leader. Facing the enormous creature seated within a spring, she felt not the slightest bit of fear. On the contrary, she was incredibly excited.

The Monster Beast, which had been cooling off in the water, heard her voice and its head swiveled an incredible one hundred and eighty degrees to face her.

”A puny human dares to disturb my rest! You deserve to die!”

The gargantuan creature’s entire body was encased in a hard shell, but its head resembled that of a human. Xiao Xiao had never seen a Monster Beast like this before. Although its appearance was grotesque, its power was immense.

As the monster finished speaking, its gigantic palm descended toward Xiao Xiao like a falling mountain.

Xiao Xiao easily dodged the strike. ”Hey! I need you to do me a favor. Otherwise, you can brace yourself for my fists!” Her threatening voice echoed throughout the forest.

The Monster Beast roared with laughter. ”A mere human dares to speak so brazenly? It’s been a long time since I’ve absorbed human Energy. Today, I shall have a grand feast!”

As he spoke, the massive creature heaved its mountain-like body up from the pool of water. Its enormous figure was enough to strike fear into the heart of even a powerhouse at the Ninth Level of the Martial Emperor Realm. This creature’s ability to reign supreme over the entire back mountain range proved its strength was far from ordinary. Based on her own power, Xiao Xiao was no match for him.

But now, only a single thought occupied Xiao Xiao’s mind—a thought she couldn’t seem to control.

”You brute. I tried to negotiate nicely, but you wouldn’t listen. You forced my hand. Now that I’ve acted, you no longer have a say in the matter!”

Standing before this behemoth, Xiao Xiao was as insignificant as an ant at an elephant’s feet.

The great beast snorted, raising its hand and smashing it ruthlessly down toward her.

The moment he moved, Xiao Xiao’s body shot away from her original position like a cannonball. She twisted space with a step, appearing behind the beast in an eerie flash as her fists struck its back like sharp blades.

PFFT!

Deep gashes appeared on the monster’s body. He whipped his head around, his gaze locking furiously onto Xiao Xiao.

Xiao Xiao’s mouth curled up slightly. ”You don’t need to be angry. You brought this on yourself!”

Upon hearing her words, the monster became enraged, its eyes turning blood-red. Snarling and clawing, it lunged at Xiao Xiao, intending to tear her to pieces.

Xiao Xiao’s body flickered, nimbly evading the monster’s assault and dodging its relentless pursuit. Her eyes were fixed on the beast before her, the corners of her lips turning up in an involuntary smirk.

”I won’t give you another chance!”

The Monster Beast roared in fury. ”ARGH...!”

Xiao Xiao’s body moved with agility, constantly weaving around the monster. Every movement left a trail of afterimages. Her figure was like a phantom, appearing and disappearing, but gradually, her stamina began to wane. The monster’s speed was too great and its strength was immense. No matter how powerful her constitution, she couldn’t hold out for long.

”Human, stop your futile struggle. No human has ever managed to escape my grasp!”

This girl is just asking for trouble, the creature thought. If I weren’t this formidable, I wouldn’t be the leader of the back mountain’s Monster Beasts!

The great Monster Beast seized Xiao Xiao, clutching her tightly in its massive hand.

”Tell me, should I drain your Energy before I eat you, or should I just swallow you whole?” The monster hadn’t seen a human in a very long time, so the sight of the food in its hand made it exceptionally greedy.

Looking at the monster’s gaping maw, Xiao Xiao wasn’t panicked in the least. On the contrary, she became even more excited.

”Hey, you want to eat me? Do you really think it will be that easy?”
