Invincible Soul Emperor

Chapter 709: Chapter 709: Teaching You a Lesson

”Where are you taking me?” Ye Qingchen asked, frowning at the old man gripping his arm.

”I’m just taking you to get accustomed to life here. In the future, you’ll be serving the Young Miss! You must learn the rules of the Zheng Family, and learn them well!” the elder said bluntly, not bothering to hide his intentions as he led Ye Qingchen into a large courtyard.

Inside the courtyard, a group of handsome men were chatting and laughing amongst themselves. When they saw the elder leading Ye Qingchen in, they all fell silent, their gazes turning on him with ill intent. Ye Qingchen stared back, completely bewildered.

”Starting today, you will live with them in this courtyard! You are not to take a single step outside without permission! Furthermore, from this moment on, I will teach you the rules of the Zheng Residence! You will stay here obediently and serve the Young Miss!” The elder’s words made Ye Qingchen’s frown deepen.

”Damn it! They’re really treating me like some male consort!” Ye Qingchen muttered. He had never encountered anything like this before. A shiver of disgust ran through him as he looked at the room full of men. That Zheng Xiao... she keeps so many men. Doesn’t anyone step in to manage this sort of thing?

Once the elder was out of earshot, the group of men surrounded Ye Qingchen. ”Hey! Let me tell you, I’m the Young Miss’s favorite. As the newcomer, you’ll listen to me around here!”

Ye Qingchen looked at them and snorted coldly. ”I don’t care who you are, and I’m not here to serve your Young Miss. But I’d advise you not to provoke me. My patience is wearing thin.”

He wasn’t joking; he was reaching his limit. He was incredibly anxious, still unable to find Xiao Xiao.

”Well, well! The newcomer’s got some nerve! What gives you the right to be so arrogant? The Young Miss doesn’t like conceited fools!” one of the men sneered, rolling his eyes at Ye Qingchen.

SLAP!

Ye Qingchen slapped him without a shred of hesitation.

”Scram! Stop bothering me!” Ye Qingchen’s slap was infused with a significant amount of Energy. These men had little to no cultivation, so with that single blow, the man’s face instantly swelled up like a pig’s head.

”Ah! You disrespectful newcomer! Uncle Wang! Uncle Wang! Come and deal with him!” the man shouted furiously, clutching his swollen face.

Because of that slap, the rest of the men now looked at Ye Qingchen with apprehension.

The elder had only just turned back to grab something from a room when he heard the man’s pained scream. Stepping back outside, he bellowed, ”Who just attacked someone?” He glared at Ye Qingchen, expecting him to confess.

Ye Qingchen coolly took two steps forward. ”Listen, Uncle Wang, I don’t want to waste any more time here. Where is the girl who came with me?”

His tone was demanding.

However, the elder simply squinted, his own Energy flaring up around him. He didn’t answer the question. ”Was it you who just struck him?”

”It was. Everyone saw it,” Ye Qingchen replied, releasing his own oppressive aura to match. The two stood in a tense standoff.

Uncle Wang snorted coldly. ”So disobedient. It seems I’ll have to teach you some manners today!”

As Uncle Wang spoke, the surrounding Earth Element was instantly mobilized, causing all the onlookers’ eyes to widen in shock.

”I don’t think this guy wants to live. He actually dared to provoke Uncle Wang! Uncle Wang is the most powerful person in the entire Zheng Residence!”

”Yeah! I have a bit of cultivation myself, so I can tell this newcomer has some strength, but he’s got no sense. How dare he challenge Uncle Wang.”

”Haha, but this is good for us. We don’t have to worry anymore. There’s no way he’ll survive against Uncle Wang, so we won’t have to worry about him competing for the Young Miss’s affection!”

”That’s right! Go, Uncle Wang! Teach this guy a harsh lesson!”

The group of men ran to a safe distance and began to cheer for Uncle Wang.

Their discussion reached Ye Qingchen’s ears, and he couldn’t help but let out a cold sneer as he faced Uncle Wang. I originally thought there must be someone in the Zheng Residence more formidable than this Uncle Wang. I can’t believe he’s supposedly their strongest. If that’s the case, what about those incredibly powerful auras I sensed when I first arrived?

Ye Qingchen couldn’t figure it out. However, he was certain that when he had come outside just now, he hadn’t sensed any other powerful individuals in the vicinity. Perhaps it was just as that man had said—the only expert here now was Uncle Wang!

If that was the case, then he no longer needed to hold back!

”Kid, you still have time to be dazed at a moment like this? I see you’re truly unrepentant. While I won’t take your life today, I will certainly teach you a harsh lesson on behalf of the Young Miss!”

As he spoke, Uncle Wang charged at Ye Qingchen, his body enveloped in the Earth Element. His palms, imbued with that same element, came smashing down toward Ye Qingchen’s head like two massive boulders.

Without the slightest hesitation, Ye Qingchen threw a punch of his own, meeting the attack head-on.

BANG!

Their arms collided in midair. The impact was so great that the ground beneath their feet cracked, creating a ravine hundreds of meters long.

RUMBLE...

Two Earth Walls erupted from the ground, surging toward Ye Qingchen. Seeing Uncle Wang’s formidable power, Ye Qingchen’s eyes sharpened. He picked up his pace as countless Teng Man shot forward, colliding with the Earth Walls.

BOOM!

With another deafening roar, the Earth Walls crumbled to dust.

Uncle Wang’s eyes flashed with shock. He hadn’t expected Ye Qingchen to be so powerful. He stomped his feet hard on the ground, launching himself toward Ye Qingchen like a cannonball.

Seeing Uncle Wang charge, Ye Qingchen didn’t retreat an inch. He clenched his fists, gathering all the wood-type Energy in his body into his hands.

”Willow Curtain Drooping Green!”

Ye Qingchen bellowed, and a massive defensive barrier materialized in front of him.

Uncle Wang was moving too fast. By the time he saw the barrier, it was too late to stop.

THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD!

His body slammed violently against the barrier.

”Argh...!”

With a great roar, Uncle Wang was thrown back dozens of meters. He tumbled across the ground for dozens of rotations before skidding to a halt.

He lifted his head, his eyes filled with utter disbelief. He stared at Ye Qingchen as if he had just seen a monster. He couldn’t believe Ye Qingchen possessed such formidable strength, single-handedly withstanding his assault.

At that moment, it wasn’t just him; all the onlookers watching from a distance were stunned into silence.

”No way... How can that guy be so powerful? I-it can’t be!”

”We must be hallucinating! Uncle Wang is the strongest person in our residence!”

”That guy... could he have been toying with us from the very beginning?”

”T-too terrifying! Simply terrifying!”
