I Return From Hell

Chapter 127: Chapter 120: Predicting Their Predictions

BANG.

The gunshot roared.

Next to Snake Man, a man was shot between the eyes, dying instantly.

’He... he’s dead?’

’After being shot dead, why were his eyes filled with a dense web of bloody veins?’

’Why was he now just skin and bones?’

Snake Man and the others had no time to think. Their legs went weak with fear, the mocking smiles frozen on their faces.

”AHHH!”

Screams erupted from the surrounding tourists.

Chaos began.

”You...”

Chen Hang was even more dumbfounded, staring at Xie Shaokun in disbelief. ”Is... is that a real gun?”

Xie Shaokun retorted as he opened the car’s sunroof, ”What do you think? Did you think I was playing house with you?”

”How dare you!”

Chen Hang had always thought he was audacious enough for Shunyang City, but he never expected to meet someone even more audacious than himself.

”Heh.”

Xie Shaokun raised the muzzle and pulled the trigger again. ”BANG.”

Another figure fell to the ground.

No one noticed that the two people Xie Shaokun had shot had both undergone a drastic change in appearance, no longer looking like ordinary humans.

He’s insane!

This guy is completely insane!

”Run!”

Chen Hang turned to flee.

’It’s better to stay far away from a madman like that.’

Snake Man and his men had the same thought. But just as they turned to run...

”???”

They witnessed an even more shocking scene: the once gentle and cute alpacas now had mouths full of fangs and were viciously tearing into their own kind. Their muzzles dripped with blood, staining their pure white wool red.

It was a terrifying sight.

The peacocks, which had been fanning their tails, were now ramming themselves against the surrounding wire fence as if they had gone mad, causing the fence to start buckling.

A newborn monkey, which had been timid and curious about everything, now bit down on a tourist who was about to feed it. With its sharp teeth and astonishing bite force, it actually severed three of the tourist’s fingers.

A mother, who had been radiating a gentle, maternal glow, suddenly lifted the child in her arms and began to devour it.

...

”This...”

Chen Hang, Snake Man, and the others froze on the spot.

The shock was too great.

They couldn’t snap out of it.

「Inside the car.」

”Right here. Open fire.”

Xia Yu had already taken a gun and calmly issued her orders. ”Little Nannan, you’re responsible for sniping the Mutated Beasts from a distance. Xie Shaokun and Little Flower, you’re on close-quarters protection.”

”Yes, ma’am!”

”Yes, ma’am!”

At her words, Little Nannan and Xie Shaokun both affirmed the order.

BANG.

Little Nannan picked up a long rifle, climbed onto the roof of the car, and began to aim and shoot.

The sight of her small body holding a large gun looked somewhat jarring, but that small body possessed a constitution comparable to a Second-level Athlete, and her marksmanship was incredibly precise.

In just three seconds, she had successfully killed a Mutated Beast!

No one dared to underestimate her.

Xie Shaokun pulled out a military knife, pushed open the car door, and stood ready for battle.

It was a ’gift’ from Zhao Guohui. The material was excellent, far superior to the pig-killing knife Xie Shaokun often used before, and its weight was just right.

It felt perfect in his hand.

Little Ai.

She sat in the car, her view obstructed. With Snake Man and the others in the way, she couldn’t see what was happening in the distance, only hearing the piercing screams, which made her inexplicably panic.

At the same time, she had also been terrified by the two shots Xie Shaokun had just fired and still hadn’t recovered.

’She hasn’t mutated?’

Xia Yu glanced at Little Ai. Seeing that she wasn’t a Mutant, she felt relieved and looked back outside the car.

Her gaze was as sharp as a falcon’s, taking in the entire situation.

The zoo covered several thousand square meters, dotted with pavilions and dense vegetation, all completely shrouded in mist.

Their current position was on a main path within the park. If they were to be besieged, they could start the car, accelerate, and plow a bloody path through.

This location was quite far from the Mutated Beasts, and those beasts had not yet broken through the wire fences caging them. Therefore, the main threat for now was the Mutants.

With Xie Shaokun, Snake Man, and the others around, the Mutants couldn’t get close at all.

So...

For the time being, there was no immediate threat.

’The number of Mutants... a rough estimate of over a hundred.’

’No Mutated Plants? Or have they not formed yet?’

’Thirty to forty Mutated Beasts.’

’Red-eyed Mutant Beasts... one, two...’

”Hm?”

’Where’s that wild boar?’

Xia Yu scanned the surroundings.

While walking through the zoo earlier, she clearly remembered seeing a massive wild boar, weighing several hundred pounds, that looked completely domesticated.

It had been lazing around, just waiting for tourists to feed it.

But now there was no sign of it?

’Did it escape?’

Seeing a section of the iron fence that had penned the boar had been smashed open, her pupils suddenly contracted. She quickly scanned the area but still couldn’t find any trace of it.

BANG.

Another gunshot rang out.

Immediately after, Little Nannan’s voice came through: ”Big Sister, the Red-eyed Mutant Beasts seem to sense when I’m about to shoot them. They always manage to dodge a step ahead of me.”

Animals have an inherently sharp sense of danger. As Red-eyed Mutant Beasts were stronger, their senses were even more acute. It wasn’t surprising that they could do this.

”They can predict your bullet’s trajectory, so you need to learn to predict their prediction.”

Xia Yu offered her advice.

Little Nannan understood instantly, but...

The principle was easy to say, but much harder to put into practice!

”Don’t be afraid.”

Xia Yu encouraged her, ”If you don’t practice now, you’ll be even more scared to practice when you face greater danger in the future.”

Hearing this, Little Nannan nodded firmly, her hesitation gone!

She pointed her muzzle at a Red-eyed Mutant Beast.

It was a fat mother monkey that had just given birth, but... it was now nothing but skin and bones. That, combined with its crimson eyes, made it exceptionally creepy.

Aim!

The muzzle shifted slightly to the left. She pulled the trigger.

BANG!

A miss!

The mother monkey ducked its head down.

Aim!

The moment she pulled the trigger, the muzzle shifted slightly down.

BANG!

A hit this time!

Unfortunately, the mother monkey tilted its head to the left. The shot hit its neck but didn’t affect its movements at all.

And at that moment, the wire fence was torn open.

’One more chance to shoot!’

Little Nannan was on high alert.

As the mother monkey prepared to squeeze through the torn wire fence, she aimed again.

The moment she pulled the trigger, the muzzle shifted slightly to the right.

BANG!

She hit its neck again!

’It tilted its head left again?’

Little Nannan’s small brow furrowed. She could only watch helplessly as the mother monkey escaped the enclosure. It even shot her a glance, baring its teeth in a snarl.

’Did it just mark me?’

A flicker of fear appeared on her small face, but the thought that her Big Sister was right beside her instantly calmed her down. She decisively moved her sights to another Red-eyed Mutant Beast.

A male peacock!

She continued to ponder how to predict its prediction.

Its head was tiny, making it an even harder target to hit!

Seeing Little Nannan miss several shots in a row, Xia Yu didn’t offer any guidance.

Marksmanship, besides relying on talent and a good teacher’s instruction, mostly requires practice and insight!

And those were two things no one else could help you with.

’The situation has changed. The tactics need to be adjusted accordingly.’

She observed the surrounding situation and decisively issued a new order...
