Eternal Thief

Chapter 1642: The Sky Stealer in Undead Cradle! (8)

For a moment, everything was dark under Ace’s astounded expression and racing heart!

Thereafter, the entire blackened world began to move. The dome above began to distort. The terminals flickered and dissolved into streams of energy.

The vast crystalline ground cracked, not into ruin, but into flowing fragments of light and shadow, and the honeycomb collapsed inward.

In actuality, the world wasn’t getting destroyed, but it was being absorbed as if drawn into something far greater, like a bottomless abyss!

Ace could literally feel that the Thief’s Space had been opened and was emitting a powerful suction force unlike anything he had ever felt, and the Central Repository flowed into it!

But it wasn’t just the Central Repository; it was everything, including the honeycomb structure, the countless treasures, the eighty-one terminals, and the spatial framework itself; nothing was left behind as the entire independent world was annexed!

Silence returned, but it was different now as it was filled with emptiness, and here, Ace stood alone. Where once a world existed, now only unstable space replaced it, faint currents beginning to stir.

At this moment, the system’s interface opened with an emotionless announcement...

At that moment, Pixy’s voice broke the stillness as she said lightly, almost satisfied, ”Well, that went smoother than expected.”

Ace didn’t need Pixy to clarify anything, as he had already seen the panel as ecstasy rose in his heart, and he was about to say something when Pixy continued without giving him any chance.

Her tone sharpened slightly, ”Oh, if you want to leave... now’s the time.”

An eerie brief pause followed before she playfully warned, ”...or you’ll be standing in space currents soon!”

Ace’s ecstasy instantly replaced with solemnity as he finally remembered that he was still standing in the middle of an unknown space, and once this world’s spatial passages connected to the Lower Grave Strata started to collapse, he would be lost in space current!

However, Ace had already decided his next course of action as he looked at the collapsing passages coldly, and he knew this was the safest way out of this entire mess he had created.

Furthermore, he had already run out of the Heavenly Spirit Recovery Elixir, and the mental strain on his mind for continuously using the Lawless Darkness was about to erupt, as he knew he was going to need a well-deserved rest after this.

But before he could initiate his exit strategy, the system wasn’t done as a new interface and a new announcement that even Ace hadn’t seen before appeared to astound him...

=====

[Congratulations, Host, you have performed a Discretionary Mission!]

-Description of Discretionary Mission: Triggered when Heaven’s Stealer acts independently and performs a thievery on the same level or beyond the system missions!

-Discretionary Mission Rewards: A Discretionary Mission Reward will always be random and judged based upon the Mission Evaluation Grade.

[Continue with the Evaluation of the Discretionary Mission?]

=====

’A Discretionary Mission!?’

Ace was startled and stunned in place as he read the description of this unexpected interface. The next moment, his eyes shone with happiness as he felt as if all the effort he had put into this unexpected mission had paid off.

Moreover, Ace felt he had learned something completely new about how missions and thieveries work, and in the future, he won’t have to worry about always waiting for system missions, as he can plan his own massive-scale missions and still earn rewards.

Furthermore, from the random rewards the system promised based on the evaluation grade, he knew something amazing might appear this time around, and he almost started the evaluation.

But he held himself back because this wasn’t the time or place, as he needed to get out of here and then quickly figured out a way to get back into the game because the method of getting away was not only from the Corpse Governor, but also from the Evernight Council...

”Soul Body Sweep!”

The next moment, Ace’s figure vanished, leaving behind a collapsing emptiness, and the space current soon filled with the entire space, as if the once glorious, half-independent world had never existed in the first place!

---

Deep within the hidden fold of space, the Evernight Demon King finally stopped refining the altar.

The massive structure before her no longer looked incomplete. Dark crimson runes pulsed like living veins across its surface, while the thick scent of blood and ancient death saturated the entire hidden realm.

Countless Corpse Clan members had vanished for this very purpose, their essence reduced into fuel for one of the Evernight Council’s most forbidden arts. A nefarious reverse summoning ritual, a taboo spell capable of dragging a target across realms through fate, authority, and resonance.

In this case, the anchor for that resonance was none other than the Ring of Lone Hunter!

Her pale fingers lightly brushed the floating crimson ring projection hovering above the altar. Those empty white eyes reflected countless calculations and possibilities.

From the moment the Evernight Kings realized Nomad could cross the Undead Boundary, everything changed. Because that should’ve been impossible.

The Undead Boundary wasn’t merely a formation or a barrier. It was classified as one of the oldest sealed laws in the Abyssal Plains by the Evernight Council, which even Abyssal Kings couldn’t freely bypass.

Yet Nomad had crossed it! That distinction alone was enough to shake the Evernight Council.

Even if the Evernight Fiend King and the Evernight Devil King remained cautious and suspicious, they wouldn’t take extreme actions against Nomad as long as he spat out everything they wanted to know.

But the Evernight Demon King was different, as curiosity for her was more terrifying than hostility. She wanted answers.

She wanted to dissect the truth hidden within Nomad, his bloodline, inheritance, secrets, his connection to the Moonless Wandering King, and most importantly, how he interfered with the Undead Boundary!
