Eternal Thief

Chapter 1641: The Sky Stealer in Undead Cradle! (7)

Ace stood at the edge of the vast world-vault, utterly unaware of the storm unraveling outside.

The collapse of the Undead Boundary, the rising panic of the Corpse Clan, the subtle schemes of Evernight Demon King, none of it reached him here, as inside this sealed, independent world, everything remained eerily still, untouched.

Ace’s focus never wavered as his gaze swept across the Central Repository once more, sharp and calculating. The boundless crystalline expanse, the perfect symmetry of the eighty-one terminals, the floating honeycomb structure at the center...

Nothing had changed, not even after he had taken the core formation, which alone confirmed it.

’This place... really can stay independent despite the missing core formation with its own power source,’ Ace thought with his eyes narrowing slightly beneath the hood.

Still, he didn’t relax, for even if the Central Repository remained stable, the connection to the Undead Boundary had been severed. There had to be consequences, like subtle ones, or perhaps, delayed ones, but consequences nonetheless.

However, Ace didn’t intend to wait around to find out, and without hesitation, the next moment, his figure blurred as he remained cloaked in Lawless Darkness.

He shot forward like a streak of absolute void, cutting through the silent world as he headed straight toward the center of it all. Toward the honeycomb’s core!

The closer he got, the more overwhelming it felt as the colossal honeycomb structure loomed before him, its countless hexagonal cells layered into a three-dimensional lattice that stretched in every direction.

Each cell shimmered faintly, filled with treasures that seemed as if frozen in time, and at its very heart, the gigantic, sun-like hexagonal core.

It pulsed faintly, radiating a controlled, steady glow that illuminated the entire structure. It wasn’t blazing or chaotic, but it carried a quiet authority.

If not for the Lawless Darkness’s protection, Ace would’ve never reached here without any obstruction, or maybe he might even die by some terrifying killing mechanism.

But Ace remained untouched as he finally reached it and slowed down, stopping before it.

For a brief moment, he simply stared, and then his eyes turned cold as he had already discussed how he would proceed from here with Pixy.

Ace raised his hand, and a single strand of Primordial Spirit Qi slipped from his fingertip, compressed to the extreme, wrapped tightly in Lawless Darkness. Thereafter, it drifted forward and touched the core!

The moment it did, Pixy’s voice rang out, sharp and excited, ”Heh... It’s on! Do you want to continue activating the Wealth Value Manipulation and then start assimilating directly into the Thief’s Space? Remember, once you accept, you will be giving me full control over this task and can’t obstruct me!”

Ace was already aware of this arrangement, as Pixy had told him that, as she was now the Wealth Administrator of the Thief’s Space, he no longer needed to pay Thief Points for the upgrades, and as long as the condition was met, the thief’s space would be directly upgraded by her once she received Ace’s permission.

In this case, Ace was also giving Pixy permission to do whatever she wanted with the independent rules of this world!

Ace didn’t hesitate and commanded, ”Continue!”

In that instant, two billion Thief Points vanished, as this was the cost of using the Wealth Value Manipulation here!

The moment the cost was paid, something profound awakened from within Ace.

An ethereal pitch-black Qi erupted from within Ace, flowing like liquid darkness, spreading across his body before pouring outward in terrifying silence.

It seeped into the core. At first, it was subtle, like ink dropped into water, but then, it surged as the black Qi flooded into the sun-like core at an alarming rate, devouring its light from within.

The glow dimmed, flickered, and resisted, but it was only the beginning, because the darkness didn’t stop there as it spread, from the core to the honeycomb structure, from one cell to another, like a creeping shadow, the ethereal pitch-black Qi began to engulf the entire structure.

The once radiant world started to dim as the light was swallowed, and as silence deepened, the world or the independent rules of the world seemed to have finally noticed the anomaly and reacted!

’HUMMMMM—!’

The entire Central Repository trembled, and, for the first time since its creation, it resisted, the independent rules awakened but not with emotion or rage, with cold, mechanical precision.

The dome above flickered as the eighty-one terminals ignited simultaneously, runes spun wildly, invisible forces surged from every direction, converging toward the core.

Then, a cold, static voice reverberated throughout the world...

”Annihilation protocols triggered!”

The world itself seemed to be turning against Ace as invisible pressure descended, and space tightened.

The honeycomb structure vibrated violently as layers of defensive mechanisms activated, trying to isolate the invading darkness and erase it!

But it was useless because this wasn’t just Ace’s power; this was Pixy backed by none other than the System.

”Hehe...mere trash dares to struggle against me?” Pixy’s voice carried a trace of mockery, but beneath it was something far more focused. ”Let me show you what real control over wealth looks like!”

The black Qi shifted under Pixy’s indomitable will, and it adapted in the next moment. Every defensive mechanism that was activated was bypassed, and every rule that attempted to suppress it was ignored!

Pixy didn’t clash with the system; it was more like she excluded it as she relentlessly worked with terrifying precision, dissecting the independent rules layer by layer with surgical efficiency.

The so-called ’independent will’ of the Central Repository proved to be neither a spirit nor a consciousness, but a rigid, emotionless framework, like a security system.

Yet under Pixy’s authority, one by one, all those rules were erased!

The tremors intensified as if the world itself were becoming desperate, but then they weakened before stopping altogether as the resistance finally collapsed, and the light vanished completely.

For a brief moment, everything was dark under Ace’s astounded expression and racing heart!
