Emperor’s Domination

Teng Sujian had always been an exception. At a young age, she had already reached the steps to the pseudo stage, a promising sign for the imperial path.

One could say that from childhood, she lived as if on a cloud like the heaven’s favorite. Her cultivation journey was smooth, surrounded by adulation and treated like a princess.

However, she never expected that when she attempted to break through, she would be unable to withstand the immense power. Her dao fractured, resulting in her cultivation regressing and her falling off the cloud.

This setback was almost unbearable for her. Her dao foundation could never be fully repaired. Forget reaching her former glorious heights, she could only become an above-average cultivator at best. She even contemplated suicide. This dark period was agonizing for her.

Ultimately, she emerged from this dark time and accepted her failure, retreating to Jingye’s Manor. Although the fracture in her dao still hadn’t healed and her cultivation hadn’t advanced during this time, her mindset had vastly improved. Her dao heart had become more resilient.

The old her was a proud genius looking down on all others with a haughty demeanor. The current her was more pragmatic with a broader mind, capable of embracing all rivers.

She believed that she was too eager and hasty in her cultivation, which led to an unstable dao foundation and ultimately the collapse of her dao.

Now, Li Qiye suddenly mentioned a “lightning bloodline” to her astonishment.

“I, I, I possess our ancestor’s bloodline?” Teng Sujian asked in a daze.

“While you cannot inherit the Lightning God Devil Blood version, the Lightning Blood is also extremely rare.” Li Qiye said.

Although she had never heard of them before, she understood the bloodline she now possessed was a diluted form of their progenitor’s bloodline.

How terrifying must his bloodline be? As descendants, they might not be able to inherit their progenitor’s supreme bloodline, but it was indeed possible for their descendants to still retain this diluted bloodline.

However, she had never known she possessed such a bloodline, nor did the elder ancestors of the Teng family.

“What should I do?” Teng Sujian couldn’t help but ask.

“No rush.” Li Qiye said: “The key is not cultivation but how to fortify your dao heart. As long as it is firm enough, everything will come including the possibility of atavism back to your progenitor’s bloodline.”

“Atavism…” She murmured and looked at the sky, wondering about the potential of an overlord’s bloodline.

At this time, the lightning arcs on the ancestral vine issued thunderous noises. They flickered and resonated with the distant night sky. Flashes of blood-red light could be seen above.

After sensing it, Li Qiye ascended to the sky and she followed suit. Once high enough, they saw the light source was coming from a place surrounded by nine peaks.

“Nine-heaven Peaks.” She said after the light disappeared.

Li Qiye took a closer look and saw the nine peaks serving as a seal.

“Legend has it they came from outer space.” She said: “Some believe this to be the core of World City with a supreme immortal treasure inside. One day, a visual phenomenon occurred and the nine peaks descended, preventing anyone from getting inside.”

Emperors, primal ancestors, and even overlords tried to come in to no avail. The one exception was Desolate Ancestor.

“We’ll visit early tomorrow.” Li Qiye said before returning to bed.

The issue for her was – where was she going to sleep now that her room was taken?

“Shameless.” She stomped the ground and picked the room next door.

She woke up earlier than Li Qiye and prepared while still wondering the reason for complying with his demands. Alas, the spell was strong and she wanted to do a good job to please him.

Breakfast was ready once he woke up. She stood nearby and asked: “How is it?”

“It’s fine, nothing exceptional.” He remarked.

“…” Anger surfaced since she had never cooked for anyone before, prompting her to speak: “You’re nothing exceptional.”

“Otherwise, you would think you have cooked an immortal delicacy.” Li Qiye smiled.

“I know.” She fell into dejection.

“Keep learning how to best serve me.” He stood up and said.

His nonchalant demeanor infuriated her but she took a deep breath and followed behind him.

“I know…” She murmured.
