Chapter 420: Chapter 420: The 6 Factions Martial Tournament

Luo Feng and Wan Tai both agreed, so the life-or-death duel between Lin Yun and Song Tianyang was officially set. The only question was when. Now was clearly not a suitable time, as Lin Yun’s injuries had not yet fully healed.

After some discussion between the two sides, it was ultimately Song Tianyang who proposed a time. ”Then let’s do it at the Six Directions Martial Assembly two years from now.”

The Six Directions Martial Assembly was a grand event jointly hosted by the Six Great Forces of the Eastern Domain. It would be no exaggeration to call it the pinnacle Martial Arts event in the entire Eastern Domain.

Held once every ten years, the younger generation from the Six Great Forces would take the stage to compete. The Six Great Forces would also put up a great deal of resources as stakes. The ultimate victor would not only win glory for their respective force but also receive an enviable cache of resources.

Each Six Directions Martial Assembly was hosted by one of the Six Great Forces in rotation. As it happened, this time, the assembly was to be held in the Southeast Domain’s Celestial Eagle Valley.

Hearing that Song Tianyang had actually set the date for the Six Directions Martial Assembly two years from now, Wan Tai looked at his disciple in surprise. He questioned Song Tianyang in a low voice, ”Celestial Yang, why set it for two years later?”

Questioned by Wan Tai, Song Tianyang replied softly, ”Master, I am about to challenge the Infinite Array, have you forgotten? When I return from the Infinite Array, even ten Lin Yuns will be no match for me. Besides, if I’m going to kill him, I want to do it in front of all the Six Great Forces of the Eastern Domain.”

Upon hearing Song Tianyang’s words, Wan Tai pondered for a moment before finally nodding in agreement. The Infinite Array had been passed down since the founding of the Wuji Sect and contained all of its Martial Arts. Throughout history, every Wuji Sect Disciple who managed to comprehend the Infinite Array had been an individual of exceptional talent. Their future accomplishments, at a minimum, all reached the Spirit Realm.

In truth, Song Tianyang’s main reason for setting the duel two years in the future was so he could slay Lin Yun in front of all the prodigies of the Eastern Domain.

He wanted to make Lin Yun understand that before him, Lin Yun was nothing more than an ant. No matter how hard Lin Yun struggled, he could never escape the fate of being slain by his hand.

”Fine, Luo Feng. We’ll set it for the Six Directions Martial Assembly two years from now. What do you say?” Wan Tai said, looking at Luo Feng.

”Good, it’s settled. In two years, at the Six Directions Martial Assembly, Lin Yun and Song Tianyang will fight to the death,” Luo Feng agreed at once.

The time was set. Thanks to Lin Yun’s appearance, the two forces had avoided an all-out war, but in its place, Lin Yun and Song Tianyang had arranged a life-or-death duel.

With the matter settled, Wan Tai shot a cold glance at Mo Qingshui. He knew that, at this point, getting his hands on her was impossible. In his heart, however, he had no intention of giving up on her.

’Just you wait, you bitch. In two years, I’ll make you beg for mercy beneath me,’ he thought coldly. Then, Wan Tai and his group left the small courtyard. The Mo Family Head departed with them.

After the people from the Wuji Sect had gone, Luo Feng finally looked at Lin Yun. There was no trace of accusation on his face; instead, he wore a slight smile and asked, ”You little rascal, are you confident?”

Hearing Luo Feng’s question, Lin Yun nodded in response, even though he wasn’t entirely sure himself.

Seeing Lin Yun’s reaction, the Supreme Elder who guarded Demon Beast Ridge said, ”It’s good to be confident, young man, but two years is an incredibly short amount of time. Song Tianyang was able to become one of the Five Great Demon Fiends of the Eastern Domain, so his aptitude is naturally extraordinary. While you’re improving, so is he. You will have to put in several, even ten times his effort, to have any hope of surpassing him.”

The Supreme Elder’s words were true. Lin Yun was improving, but Song Tianyang was surely improving as well. He wouldn’t just be standing still, waiting for Lin Yun to catch up.

An all-out war had been averted, with Lin Yun shouldering all the pressure himself. Looking at this disciple of his, Luo Feng felt a deep sense of pride.

Just as everyone was talking, Abbot Lian Fo and the Semi-Evil Daoist Master entered, bringing the Monk and Daoist with them.

”You two old coots, finally decided to show yourselves?” The Supreme Elder guarding Demon Beast Ridge laughed upon seeing them. It was clear they knew each other well.

”Heh, you’re one to talk, old friend. It’s been decades, but you haven’t changed a bit,” the Semi-Evil Daoist Master retorted with a smile.

Afterward, Luo Feng, the Six Supreme Elders, the Semi-Evil Daoist Master, and Abbot Lian Fo went into the main hall, while Lin Yun remained in the courtyard with the Daoist and the Monk.

Sitting on the stone benches, the Monk and Daoist had just heard about the life-or-death duel between Lin Yun and Song Tianyang. The Daoist immediately grew agitated. ”Lin Yun, do you have a death wish? Have you forgotten how strong Song Tianyang is?”

”Exactly! That guy Song Tianyang might be a despicable bastard, but as one of the Five Great Demon Fiends of the Eastern Domain, his strength is the real deal. He’s practically unrivaled in the younger generation,” the Monk added, chiming in.

Hearing their words, Lin Yun just smiled faintly. ”What’s the rush? There are still two years, aren’t there?”

”Are you an idiot? You think you’re the only one who’s going to be improving? To have become one of the Five Great Demon Fiends of the Eastern Domain, Song Tianyang’s cultivation speed is certainly nothing to scoff at. Otherwise, there’s no way he could have broken through to the Celestial Spirit Realm at such a young age,” the Daoist exclaimed.

The three of them continued to chat. In the eyes of the Monk and Daoist, Lin Yun’s duel with Song Tianyang was a mistake—a complete and utter mistake. Neither of them believed that Lin Yun could surpass Song Tianyang in just two years.

Lin Yun knew they were just worried about him, so he simply smiled and said nothing. As for what would happen in two years, they would just have to wait and see. Although Lin Yun wasn’t one hundred percent certain of victory, he had absolute confidence in himself.

After some more idle chatter, Lin Yun looked at the two of them and suddenly asked, ”Say, you two, since when did you start worrying about me? Weren’t you the ones who wanted to kill me most of all?”

Hearing Lin Yun’s question, both of their faces turned beet red, and they stammered in embarrassment.

”Well, you’ve tricked us plenty of times, but I’d say we still have a bit of a rapport. Besides, the Daoist and I both feel you’re a guy worth knowing.”

Lin Yun burst out laughing at the Monk’s words. Honestly, the Monk and Daoist weren’t that detestable. Though they were insatiably greedy, they were also loyal in their own way.

Besides, their innate talent was definitely not weak—a fact Lin Yun had realized back in Yanhuang Country.

The reason they were only at the Fifth Layer of Primordial Ocean Realm, with a Cultivation even lower than his own, was likely due to their lazy personalities. If the two of them had been more diligent in the past, the Eastern Domain might have more than just Five Great Demon Fiends, especially since their masters were far from ordinary.

Done with such troubling topics, the three of them unexpectedly began reminiscing about their time together in Yanhuang Country and the Mysterious Forest.

Incidents that had been infuriating at the time now seemed like unforgettable memories as they recounted them. Some were comical, others were maddening, but it was undeniable that through it all, they had unknowingly built a bridge of friendship.
