24: Chapter 24 Scorpion SwarmAfter reading the information on ’Regeneration Cells,’ Lin Sheng suddenly felt that this thing was essentially ’Rebirth from a Drop of Blood.’

If it could already regenerate a brain, what else could it be but ’Rebirth from a Drop of Blood’?

Pondering over this talent, Lin Sheng suddenly had a bold idea.

If he cut off every part of his body once, wouldn’t he be able to get rid of these tentacles?

At this thought, Lin Sheng immediately felt eager to give it a try.

He raised his left front claw and lunged fiercely at his right forearm.

*Puchi.*

The sharp claws swept past quickly, and their edge caused Lin Sheng to lose an arm instantly.

Thick, dark purple blood gushed from the stump of his arm as if it cost nothing, flowing onto the parched sandy ground.

Lin Sheng had never imagined his claws would be this sharp.

”Hiss, hiss, ow!”

After the brief moment of surprise, a pain that seemed to drill into his bone marrow followed immediately.

Lin Sheng gritted his teeth and swallowed the severed arm that had fallen to the ground in one gulp.

Looking at the right forearm slowly growing back on his body, a glimmer of anticipation flashed in Lin Sheng’s eyes.

Under Lin Sheng’s expectant gaze, a bud of flesh grew out of his right forearm.

Then...

Then it stopped growing.

”I’ll be d*mned!”

”dog system, what’s going on?”

[Ding]

[Insufficient Energy]

Hearing this, Lin Sheng hurriedly looked around.

However, he had forgotten that before his Evolution, he had spent a long time searching for a desert.

And before confirming the Evolution, he had directly accelerated and plunged deep into the desert.

In other words, in the desert where he was currently located, there was nothing with energy around him besides sand.

No.

That wasn’t entirely correct.

If Lin Sheng had Chloroplasts, he could obtain sufficient energy through the scorching sun in the desert.

”No wonder ’Regeneration Cells’ and ’Chloroplasts’ are both found in plants.”

”These two things are a perfect match.”

Amidst his grief and indignation, Lin Sheng couldn’t help but sigh with emotion.

Suddenly, he felt that the patch of sand holding his blood seemed to move just now.

Lin Sheng blinked his eyes.

And in the instant he was distracted, that patch of sand suddenly collapsed downward, and the sinking sand instantly swallowed his pool of blood.

Seeing this situation, Lin Sheng was instantly overjoyed.

This phenomenon indicated that there was definitely a living creature beneath this desert.

Furthermore, the size of the creature was within the range of what he could eat.

Thinking of this, Lin Sheng bit the tip of his tongue and spat a mouthful of bloody phlegm onto the ground.

Very quickly, under his watchful eye, the patch of sand where the bloody phlegm landed slightly dented.

Lin Sheng directly pounced.

Impaled on his claws was a creature resembling a Devil Ray.

This ”Devil Ray” was about four meters long on each side, forming a square overall.

On each of the four sides of the square, a row of yellowish, sharp teeth grew.

A ”tube” was connected to the exact center of the square; the opening of this ”tube” was on the front of the Devil Ray, and the ”tube” extended all the way into the ground.

After the Devil Ray was caught by Lin Sheng, it immediately severed its connection with the ”tube” before Lin Sheng could even do anything.

Looking at the ”Devil Ray” wrapped around his left claw like a handkerchief, Lin Sheng stuffed it directly into his mouth.

Lin Sheng felt that for the size of the ”Devil Ray,” getting over five hundred evolution points was already quite good.

He scanned the surroundings, originally wanting to see if there were any more of these ”Devil Rays” nearby.

But Lin Sheng suddenly noticed a boundary line on the distant horizon that was a different color from the desert.

This boundary line was grayish-black and did not extend to both sides of the desert.

Lin Sheng was certain that this boundary line must be a certain biological group.

Sure enough, when Lin Sheng flew near the boundary line, he discovered countless giant scorpions wandering below him.

The smallest of these scorpions was about three meters long, while the largest reached ten meters.

If Lin Sheng had encountered these scorpions without wings, he would have had no choice but to run away.

But the reality was that he had wings and could fly.

Flying above the giant scorpion swarm, Lin Sheng initially wanted to breathe some fire directly at these scorpions.

But when he got a clear look at the scorpions below, he hesitated.

Through ’Clear Sight,’ Lin Sheng could clearly see the appearance of these scorpions; he found that they somewhat resembled the ’Zombie Insects’ from his previous life.

Why would he say that?

Because many of them showed conditions where flesh was missing from both the inside and outside of their bodies.

Some even had missing heads, yet they could still walk normally on the sand.

Not only that, but those missing areas were currently and continuously oozing some thick, orange-yellow unknown liquid.

This scene made Lin Sheng feel disgusted to his core.

Just as he was hesitating whether to attack them, the scorpions on the ground also discovered Lin Sheng, this uninvited guest from the Sky.

After discovering Lin Sheng, those scorpions didn’t say a word and aimed their tails at Lin Sheng in unison.

Seeing the sudden situation below, Lin Sheng sensed trouble and instinctively wanted to dodge.

But it seemed to be too late.

The tails of the scorpions below flickered slightly, and countless rays shot toward Lin Sheng in the air.

Caught off guard, Lin Sheng took a full round of the volley head-on.

When these rays hit his body, a puff of blue smoke rose from Lin Sheng, and an endless burning sensation invaded his entire body, making him howl in the Sky from the pain.

Seeing that this big fellow in the air still had the capacity to resist, the scorpion swarm on the ground did not hesitate and fired another volley at Lin Sheng.

This time Lin Sheng got smart; the moment the scorpions’ tails lit up, he dodged to the side.

But even with preparation, Lin Sheng’s body was still hit a few times under such a dense offensive.

”Roar!”

Being provoked by the scorpion swarm, Lin Sheng also got angry.

He roared at the ground below, and a pillar of fire poured down from his mouth, landing directly on the heads of the largest scorpions in the swarm.

However, the fire pillar that was usually invincible failed this time.

The scorpions enveloped in flames were still full of vitality, showing no signs of injury whatsoever.

They were already dead things to begin with; until they were roasted into ashes, they would not lose their ability to move.

Seeing this, Lin Sheng seized the opportunity and landed on the outskirts of the scorpion swarm.

The scorpions on the outskirts were generally less than 8 meters long. As soon as a behemoth like Lin Sheng landed, he immediately grabbed a 5-meter-long scorpion.

He didn’t care if this thing was poisonous or not and stuffed it directly into his mouth.
