Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 944: Chapter 458: Even If We Meet, We Should Not Recognize Each Other (First Update)

This situation has occurred before, and Evan Stetford immediately said to Richard Stetford, ”Dad, I’ll make a phone call to the organizing committee to find out what happened. I wasn’t aware they knew Lawrence Winters.”

In theory, the client cases they select shouldn’t be known to any of the eight contestants.

If there’s any prior acquaintance, it cannot ensure fairness and independence, and in severe cases, it could lead to disqualification.

Autumn Stetford let out a light scoff, wearing a watchful expression.

Ruby Sheldon exaggeratedly laughed out loud, ”Oh my! This is so awkward, such over-the-top acting!”

Ava Harlow held a little folding fan, covering her mouth, with a smile in her crescent eyes.

Only Spring Spencer was somewhat rational, crossing her arms and speaking fairly, ”It shouldn’t be arranged by the committee; I think this couple might have hidden intentions.”

”Regardless of hidden intentions, this couple knows Lawrence Winters, according to the rules, Lawrence Winters is already out,” Autumn Stetford said lightly, placing a dark red cherry into her mouth.

”There’s such a rule?!” Ruby Sheldon exclaimed in surprise and delight, ”Mommy, is it true?”

”I’ve hosted so many Grandmaster tournaments, don’t I know the rules better than you?” Autumn Stetford smiled indifferently at Ruby Sheldon, but everyone knew she was speaking to Evan Stetford.

Evan Stetford’s face slowly turned livid, his hand clenched in his pants pocket, and he said, ”...I’ll go outside to make a call.”

”Why go outside to call? Shouldn’t you make the call in front of the judges?” Autumn Stetford chuckled, spitting the cherry pit onto a white jade porcelain dish on the small coffee table beside her.

Richard Stetford chuckled, ”Autumn’s right, just make the call in front of everyone.”

Evan Stetford had no choice but to sit back down, swipe open his phone, and turn on the speaker to call his organizing committee.

”Old Liu, what’s going on? Did you select a case where the client knows the contestant?”

The phone’s microphone transmitted Old Liu’s rough voice, ”Young Stetford! Impossible! We’ve conducted numerous investigations beforehand, analyzing all their calls, communications, texts, and social media data. This couple surnamed Zhu absolutely has no connection with Miss Winter!”

”Then how did they recognize Miss Winter instantly and sing her praises?” Autumn Stetford said coolly, ”Isn’t that due to inadequate preparation on your part?”

Old Liu recognized Autumn Stetford’s voice, breaking out in cold sweat, but he had indeed conducted extensive data analyses, with the couple’s data prominently displayed on the computer screen before him.

They found no intersecting trajectories with Lawrence Winters’ life!

This means they couldn’t have known her beforehand.

”Young Stetford, young lady, the Zhu couple was born and raised abroad, never returned to the country.”

”Miss Winter was born and raised domestically, now traveling abroad for the first time.”

”She previously worked solely domestically, providing geomancy consultations, never accepting foreign assignments.”

”We don’t know what happened today; we only trust our data facts!”

Evan Stetford exhaled and said, ”Okay, I trust you. I’ll hang up now, please double-check the data and send a memo over.”

”Will do, Young Stetford.” Old Liu exhaled, wiped sweat from his forehead, and began assembling a team to create a data memo.

The Stetford Family’s screening room fell silent momentarily, the live stream already switched to ads.

Evan Stetford returned to his seat, adjusted his bowtie, exhaled deeply, and said, ”What do you judges think?”

The five scientist judges were unfamiliar with these rules, but the five Celestial Path Sect judges had mastered them.

A bald, white-bearded judge laughed heartily, ”Although data analysis shows no relation, reality indicates otherwise. To avoid suspicion, let’s replace the contestant.”

Over the years, they’ve encountered numerous strange incidents in competitions.

But this was the first time they’d seen someone reveal their identity right off the bat.

”...Miss Winter’s approach is truly simple and crude,” another Celestial Path Sect judge murmured.

Evan Stetford said coldly, ”So, based on this one incident, do you mean to deprive Lawrence Winters of her competing rights?”

”...This isn’t just an incident; it’s a rule violation,” the third Celestial Path Sect judge insisted.

The remaining Celestial Path Sect judges merely nodded in agreement.
