Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 916: Chapter 448: Adults Make Choices, Children Want Everything (Second Update)

Kenneth Osborne couldn’t possibly decline Aiden Sheldon’s invitation.

With a figure of such caliber, even listening to him talk casually can be incredibly enlightening.

Kenneth immediately nodded, ”Alright, I’m coming right away. Please wait a moment.”

He hung up the phone and said to Caitlin Gilbert, ”Miss Gilbert, Mr. Sheldon has some business to discuss with me. I’ll go and see him.”

He nodded at Caitlin Gilbert, and turned back around.

Caitlin wanted to ask which Mr. Sheldon he meant, but Kenneth had already walked away.

While she was concerned about her father’s match, she was also drawn to Kenneth’s charm. Ultimately, she stomped her foot before heading back to the hall.

She knew she couldn’t push Kenneth too hard; she had to ”proceed slowly.” Otherwise, if their relationship became strained, there would truly be no opportunity left.

By the time she returned to Mr. Gilbert and Olivia Gilbert, she had composed herself.

Mr. Gilbert and Olivia had both noticed what happened but hadn’t heard their conversation.

Olivia softly asked, ”Caitlin, what’s going on? Does that Mr. Osborne know Miss Winters too?”

”Know her? More than know her! They’re divorced!” Caitlin said indignantly.

”Divorced?! They used to be married!” Olivia widened her eyes. ”You couldn’t tell! That Miss Winters is only twenty-one! So young and already divorced?! Young people these days... Tsk tsk, they’re too rash about marriage.”

Mr. Gilbert was relieved to hear the two were divorced and said calmly, ”It’s better they’re divorced. Now there’s no tie between them. Caitlin, why are you upset?”

She didn’t know how to respond.

Could she tell them she’s upset that the man she treasures is treated like a discard by another woman who doesn’t know his worth?

She took a big bite of food in anger.

Seeing her like this, Olivia and Mr. Gilbert exchanged smiles and did not say anything further.

...

Kenneth returned to the second floor, heading straight to the box where the Stetford Family and Sheldon Family were seated.

He knocked on the door, which opened to reveal Ruby Sheldon’s bright, smiling face.

”Kenneth Osborne! We meet again!” she said excitedly and reached out to hold his hand.

Kenneth: ”...”

He suddenly felt a headache coming on.

Having too much romantic luck is not a good thing.

Should he ask Lawrence Winters for a talisman to ward off amorous advances?

Aiden Sheldon also approached and discreetly pulled Ruby aside, inviting Kenneth in, ”Ah Kenneth’s here, come and sit.”

Kenneth’s eyebrow twitched.

Why is Aiden suddenly being so ”informal”?

The name ”Ah Kenneth” is used only by family or very close friends.

He and Aiden haven’t reached that level of familiarity, have they?

Ruby chimed in, ”Ah Kenneth Brother, come sit by me! This is the best spot; you can see the whole scene!”

Kenneth walked in to see Aiden Sheldon’s wife, Autumn Stetford, Ava Harlow, and Spring Spencer in the room as well.

Seeing Spring Spencer, he felt slightly more relaxed.

After all, out of everyone here, he was acquainted with Spring.

Spring Spencer gracefully said, ”Mr. Osborne, would you mind if I shared your contact details with Mr. Sheldon?”

Then she introduced, ”Mr. Sheldon is my relative, his wife is my relative-in-law, and Betty is my little cousin. This is my mother.”

She subtly took control of the situation.

Kenneth understood, and with a smile, he nodded to those in the room, ”Hello everyone, I’m Kenneth Osborne, and I’ve worked on a project with Mr. Spencer.”

Autumn Stetford looked him up and down; it must be said, this man is truly rare in his good looks.

Although someone like Aiden Sheldon has won her heart, objectively speaking, Kenneth Osborne’s appearance is truly one-of-a-kind.

Moreover, unlike someone in a high position of power, his beauty lacks distance and rather has an approachable quality.

She glanced at Ruby, seeing her cheeks blush and her expression dreamily besotted with Kenneth.

It’s a shame Kenneth and Lawrence Winters are already divorced...

She smiled and nodded, ”Mr. Osborne is young and talented, truly outstanding.”

”You’re too kind, Mrs. Sheldon.” Kenneth moved next to Aiden Sheldon and cautiously asked: ”Mr. Sheldon mentioned having something to discuss, may I know what it pertains to...”

Aiden looked at him and said, ”First, have a seat; let’s talk while watching.”

As they spoke, someone came in to clear the dining table, taking away unfinished items and placing new drinks and snacks.

Unexpectedly, lunchtime had already ended.

Kenneth had no choice but to sit next to Aiden, watching the match together.

Seeing this, Ruby relinquished her ”best seat” and sat beside him.

Spring Spencer and Ava Harlow exchanged smiles, as though watching kids oblivious of the real situation.

Autumn Stetford sat alone in a spot slightly further from the box window, still holding her glass of red wine, lost in thought.

Meanwhile, the eight arenas below started competition again.

This time, Lawrence Winters, having eaten and with emotions to release, picked the last arena marked ”Celestial Path Martial Art, Ancient Heritage” labeled H, and lightly jumped over the railing in front.

The Daoist Wang, caught off guard, noticed Lawrence had already jumped onto the stage and grew anxious.

Out of all the arenas, why choose this one?!

In the morning, some Daoists were beaten and sent to the hospital right here!

He wanted to warn Lawrence, but she was already on the arena.

Getting down now would be conceding defeat.

The guardian of this arena was a burly Daoist in his forties.

He didn’t even look like a Daoist, lacking the typical zen-like aura.

His head was completely bald, not a single strand of hair.

His temples bulged, his face greasy, and his arms thick as barrels.

Upon seeing someone arrive, he removed his robe, revealing muscular knots underneath.

He looked at Lawrence, flexed his arms, and smiled maliciously, ”Miss Winters, you finally came.”
