Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 935: Chapter 455: Celestial Path Sect Competition, Not a Beauty Pageant (Second Update)

In the beginning, they targeted overseas Chinese as their main clients, but half an hour after placing ads on domestic social media, this ”Celestial Path Sect World Cup” surprisingly made it to the trending list on its own.

No paid bots, no paid trending topics; it was simply pushed up by excited netizens.

Because it was just too eye-catching, and the Celestial Path Sect had a certain following domestically. Both domestic Daoists and ordinary people who enjoyed reading supernatural and strange tales represented a much larger group than overseas Chinese, making the ad performance much better.

By the time Lawrence Winters boarded the plane to meet with everyone, the download numbers for her sect’s app had skyrocketed beyond measure.

Nick Zeller, who was deep in the mountains, just found out about it yesterday because Evan Stetford reached out to him to talk about the story behind the Celestial Path Sect World Cup.

To prevent the app from crashing, Nick urgently deployed backup equipment and contacted a cloud service provider to support his sect’s app.

After a flurry of activity, the app was stabilized ahead of time, allowing everyone to watch the competition smoothly and without interruption.

He didn’t tell Gabrielle Winters about it to avoid worrying her, just informed the senior Daoist.

The senior Daoist chuckled and said, ”Wonderful! Our Lawrence is going to be famous worldwide this time!”

”Heh heh, I still think it’s best to quietly make a fortune...” Nick grinned slyly, ”But our online store’s sales are skyrocketing.”

Because his sect’s app was directly linked to their online store.

This could be considered free advertising for his sect’s app and their online store thanks to the Celestial Path Sect World Cup.

The senior Daoist snorted, ”No ambition! Just watch how Lawrence competes. Ah, I never thought that after all these years, my little disciple will still dominate the sect... thinking about it, I actually feel a bit embarrassed.”

His expression showed no embarrassment, only pride and dominance.

Nick burst into laughter, ”Master, when you say something like that, you should look in the mirror and practice your expressions. — Look at that eye roll of yours...”

...

Meanwhile, Lawrence Winters sat in the plane, sipping coconut milk.

The Daoist Wang was so excited he was practically jumping around, saying to Lawrence Winters, ”Big budget! Our sect really has a big budget!”

”This plane is a charter! It’s a private jet! Can you believe it?!”

”This is my first time on a private jet!”

Lawrence had flown private jets domestically before, so she wasn’t as emotionally moved as Daoist Wang.

She laughed and said, ”This isn’t the sect’s big budget; it’s the Stetford Family’s big budget.”

Mentioning the Stetford Family, Daoist Wang calmed down slightly and nodded, ”You’re right; indeed, it’s the Stetford Family. It’s not surprising they have private jets. But they’ve never sent private jets for previous competitions!”

”In past competitions, didn’t they just send representatives to Chinatown?” Lawrence said lazily, ”Right?”

”True. But I find I prefer this mode; it’s like a free tour...”

Daoist Wang’s smile gradually turned sly.

The live-stream staff couldn’t watch anymore and reminded them through the airplane’s speakers, ”Everyone, please note that the live broadcast has started. The stream started the moment you all boarded the plane.”

And on the sect’s app where the live-stream was, viewers were already laughing uncontrollably.

Many even sent Daoist Wang ”Spirit Stone” tips.

Of course, they weren’t real spirit stones; they were virtual gifts on the sect’s app.

Lawrence Winters: ”...”

Has it started already?

No wonder everyone else was sitting upright, looking like the ”pillar of the sect.”

Only she and Daoist Wang were clueless.

Huh! Who could not act like a master?

Lawrence thought about it and suddenly flashed a radiant smile, striking a V-sign towards a suspected surveillance camera on the plane.

Her appearance was naturally stunning, but when she smiled, she was like a blooming peony in the early morning light—graceful and brilliant, truly hard to describe.

With that smile, the viewers watching the stream went even crazier.

”Damn! What did I just see? — I saw a fairy!”

”Fairy sister is mine! Help me up! I can still give more spirit stones!”

”Fairy, fairy, I love you! Just like a mouse loves rice!”

”So tacky above, using ’mouse loves rice’ ... Fairy, look at me! I’ll build a palace for you in the sky!”

Lawrence showed off her beauty, snatching the top spot on the leader board for gifts.
