Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 927: Chapter 452: A Beautiful Misunderstanding (First Update)

The two of them took the opportunity to exchange phone numbers.

Kenneth Osborne even sent Quentin Parker a friend request on WeChat, which Quentin accepted.

However, when he accepted, he also added Lawrence Winters as a friend on WeChat.

Lawrence hadn’t checked his phone yet, so he didn’t know Quentin had sent a friend request. He was just happy to see their smooth exchange, and poured a bit of red wine for both Kenneth and himself, raising his glass and saying, ”Come, let’s celebrate the successful cooperation in advance!”

Quentin and Kenneth picked up their glasses together, the three clinked them, and each took a sip.

The three were seated near the floor-to-ceiling window.

This street was lined with upscale restaurants, and just across the street was a Michelin three-star restaurant.

At that moment, Mr. Gilbert was having a feast with his two daughters.

Caitlin looked at the restaurant across the street and said with some regret, ”Oh, it would be great if we could dine there. It’s been a long time since we’ve gone.”

Olivia replied without looking up, ”The restaurant over there requires a reservation two months in advance. If you want to go, we can book a spot now and go two months later.”

Caitlin pursed her lips.

Soon the waiter brought the dishes they ordered and placed them in front of each person.

Caitlin took a bite of her food and suddenly felt that when she was looking at the restaurant across the street just now, she seemed to have seen someone familiar.

She quickly looked up and glanced again.

Sure enough, this time she saw Kenneth Osborne sitting facing the window!

The man next to Kenneth should be the one who made quite a splash at the preliminaries today, Quentin Parker!

And there was another person, sitting with their back to the window, also with their back to the light, the whole figure seemed to be in shadow, almost impossible to tell who it was.

But apart from Kenneth, she didn’t care about anyone else. She was just surprised and said, ”... If the restaurant across the street requires reservations two months in advance, how come Kenneth and Mr. Parker can dine there? Could it be that they booked the place two months ago?”

Mr. Gilbert and Olivia both looked over.

Olivia knew more about Quentin Parker than Caitlin, and quickly said, ”Mr. Parker isn’t someone we can compare to. Perhaps he even owns a share of that restaurant... People like him dine wherever they want. No need to be envious.”

”Ah? Mr. Parker is that impressive? Sis, how do you know so much?” Caitlin said jealously, continually peeking at the scene across the street.

However, Mr. Gilbert felt a bit uncomfortable and after sitting for a while, finally asked the waiter to change their seats to one on the other side where they couldn’t see the window.

Caitlin had no choice but to follow him.

When their family had finished eating and were leaving after settling the bill, the shadows of the three people across the street were long gone.

They must have left after settling their bill earlier.

Lawrence and the others did indeed leave fifteen minutes earlier than the Gilbert family.

The three of them each had their own vehicle.

Quentin’s driver came to take him back to his apartment. After Lawrence and Kenneth saw him off, Kenneth said, ”Nora, isn’t it a bit inappropriate for you to still be living at the Stetford Residence?”

Lawrence nodded, ”I plan to move out. I’ve booked a room at the Half Moon Hotel. I’m going to fetch my things from Parker’s place first. You should head back.”

Kenneth had also booked a room at the Half Moon Hotel. He felt pleased but didn’t show it and said, ”I’ll go with you. Are you driving the rented car or the Stetford car now?”

Lawrence: ”... Parker’s car.”

”Then are you still planning to drive his car to the hotel? Besides, it’s late, calling an Uber might not be safe.” Kenneth said routinely.

Lawrence chuckled, ”I’m not an ordinary woman. Whatever Uber driver dares to mess with me will regret being born by their mother.”

Kenneth’s mouth twitched, forgetting Lawrence’s ”high combat power”...

But he pressed on, subtly dispelling her doubts, ”That’s hard to say, two fists are no match for four hands. Even if you could win, what if it delays tomorrow’s competition? Anyway, my car is rented, I’ll go with you, driving behind you. You go get your things, I’ll wait outside. That way, it’s convenient for everyone.”

Lawrence remained hesitant, feeling something was amiss.

Kenneth looked casual and said, ”Even if we’re divorced, we’re still friends.”

”No, since we are divorced, we’re not friends anymore.” Lawrence immediately retorted.

Kenneth: ”...”

It hurt, but he continued, ”We are still partners in cooperation; after all, we have a lawsuit to co-defend. Otherwise, we’ll have to split the bill together.”

Lawrence: ”...”

Alright, he hit the nail on the head.

Losing money is impossible; Lawrence Winters would never allow herself to lose money in this lifetime.

Lawrence nodded seriously, ”Okay, I’ll send you the address of the Stetford Residence, and you drive behind me.”

Kenneth received the address, smiling as he followed her car, arriving near the Stetford home on Long Island, parking in front of the vast mansion.

This was presumably the wealthy neighborhood.

Long roads lined with umbrella-like green trees, cleaned streets with large clusters of hydrangeas and tuberose on the roadside.

Nearby, gentle waves patted the shore, the air carrying a unique salty scent of sea breeze, not unpleasant, and invigorating.

Kenneth rolled down the window, happily looking at the large iron gate opposite, waiting for Lawrence to come out.

Ruby Sheldon came home at night and felt better, taking her little Pomeranian and Aiden Sheldon out for a night jog.

The father and daughter turned the corner at the intersection, just in time to see Kenneth rolling down the car window.

His stunning side profile looked at the large iron gate of their home, making Ruby feel a sweetness she’d never experienced before.

He was nearby their home, was he waiting for her?

Was he hoping to meet her when she came out?

This was like a scene from a romance novel with a devoted male lead...

See, the man she liked also liked her.

This was an eternal truth, and she never failed in this regard.
