Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 695: Chapter 361: I’m a Big Girl

Actually, she was just talking nonsense. She had no idea why Kenneth Osborne suddenly made this statement.

She just didn’t want Edward Foster to know that.

Edward Foster sensed something was off, but he didn’t expose it on the spot. He just chuckled and said, ”Lawrence, if Kenneth withdraws, can I join?”

”You...?”

”Yeah, consider me. Spencer Group’s various shenanigans these days are all centered around this piece of land. With my dad’s understanding of Cameron Spencer, even if Kenneth withdraws, they will find a way in.”

”You’ll see when the time comes. If you don’t let them participate, they can mess things up so much that you can’t start work, and no one will make a profit!”

Lawrence Winters was dumbfounded; this was indeed something he hadn’t considered.

”Really? Spencer Group is a top-notch corporation; they wouldn’t stoop so low, would they?”

”Spencer Group wouldn’t because they care about their reputation. But Cameron Spencer would, that old scoundrel’s tactics are impossible to defend against.” Edward Foster gritted his teeth at this point, ”My dad told me to tell you, the only way is to partner with a bigger group, otherwise, you won’t be able to develop this villa complex.”

”I’m thinking, since you must find a partner, why not consider us?”

”In this market, only our Foster Consortium is as strong as Spencer Group and dares to oppose them!”

Edward Foster laid it out clearly: ”Lawrence, to be blunt, even if other groups have the ability to compete against Spencer Group, why would they want to offend them for such a small project?”

”In business, profit is key, and harmony brings wealth. But only those who have been deceived by Cameron Spencer can truly speak about how despicable he is!”

Lawrence Winters was amused and said, ”Are you implying that you’ve been tricked by Cameron Spencer?”

Edward Foster was silent for a moment, then nodded and said, ”Yes, our family got duped by him. His first pot of gold back then was cheated out of us Fosters with his tricks.”

Lawrence Winters raised an eyebrow and said, ”No wonder you’ve always been indifferent to Spencer Group.”

”Exactly, so if you’re looking for a partner, consider us Foster Consortium. I guarantee honesty and fairness. Let’s make money together!” Edward Foster thumped his chest confidently.

Lawrence Winters smiled and said, ”I’ll consider it. Thank you, Mr. Foster. I’m off to dinner now.”

”Alright, go ahead, and remember to think it over!” Edward Foster reminded him a few more times before hanging up the phone.

He was on the phone right in his dining room at home.

His parents were also in the dining room, watching him.

”So? Did she agree?” Mrs. Foster asked curiously, ”Son, is this a case of a hero coming to a lady’s rescue?”

Edward Foster grinned and modestly said, ”It’s not rescuing a lady, it’s more like providing timely help.”

Pfft—!

Mrs. Foster was amused by him.

Gabriel Foster also smiled slightly and said, ”She’ll agree. Get ready to take over the construction subsidiary of the consortium and take on this project.”

Edward Foster studied architecture during his undergraduate years abroad, and after returning to the country, he pursued an in-service MBA. So for him, architecture was his main field.

...

Lawrence Winters came out of the bathroom, changed clothes, hesitated for a moment, and still decided to call Kenneth Osborne.

Kenneth Osborne was eating instant noodles at the time, working overtime at home, re-watching the special effects of the fantasy drama his company made.

For some reason, he always felt that the five-minute special effects made by Lawrence Winters had more to it than the finished piece his team created.

He couldn’t quite articulate what it was, but when watching Lawrence Winters’ special effects, he could feel that every scene felt real, containing...

Even though he didn’t want to admit it, he could sense the feeling that Lawrence Winters talked about—a sort of spirituality.

The mountains and waters in that five-minute effects short film seemed alive, making the scenes appear very realistic, as if they were shot on location and not created by a computer.

Kenneth Osborne got into computer effects rather late and didn’t yet know that achieving such an effect was the ultimate goal of special effects technicians, referred to as ”returning to nature.”

The most accurate and seamless special effects are those presented by nature itself.

For example, a tornado shown in TV or movies, if it’s using real-life tornado footage, looks very impressive and authentic without a single flaw.

Special effect-made tornadoes pale in comparison to natural ones, like a teacup storm.

The five-minute special effects short film made by Lawrence Winters left Kenneth Osborne and anyone who saw it in awe beyond words.

Why couldn’t they create the same effect?

In fact, their team did well too, almost on par with effects made by Micro Tower abroad.

But they were just short of a breath.

Just like the legend where Nüwa molds humans from clay and needs to blow a breath to bring them to life.

Where is that breath?

Kenneth Osborne frowned, focused intently on searching through the code, comparing.

In front of him were two large monitors, one displaying the code for Lawrence Winters’ five-minute effects short film, the other showing the code of his team’s similar segment.

He wanted to identify the possibility of replication through code comparison.

Just then, his phone rang.

Kenneth Osborne glanced at it and saw it was Lawrence Winters calling. He instinctively answered.
