Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau

Chapter 679: Chapter 354: Old Ginger Is Spicier (Third Update)

Summer Spencer blinked, thinking she had misheard, ”What? You want the piece of land from Ride Wind Company? We just acquired it...”

We haven’t even warmed it up yet, and you want to toss it out?

”Hmm, are you sure it’s yours? Think about it yourself. If you haven’t figured it out, don’t call me anymore.” Cameron Spencer said indifferently, hanging up the phone.

Not long after, Summer Spencer received a claim letter from Spencer Group’s lawyers, along with a notice from a lawyer about her house being auctioned off.

Since most of her properties were held by her personal trust fund.

In this way, Summer Spencer couldn’t hold on any longer.

Thinking it over again, if it weren’t for the Spencer Group and her father, that piece of land wouldn’t have come into her possession so smoothly.

Moreover, mortgaging that land to Spencer Group posed no loss to her; the only one who would suffer a loss was Blake Leaf, but it would protect her personal assets from damage.

Having thought it through, Summer Spencer immediately went to complete all the legal procedures for the mortgage.

Since Blake Leaf had half the property rights, he also had to sign.

When the documents were laid in front of him, Blake Leaf was puzzled, ”Why mortgage it to Spencer Group?”

With a cold face, Summer Spencer placed Spencer Group’s claim letter in front of him, ”Look for yourself; this is a claim letter for both of us. If you have money to pay, then we don’t need to mortgage.”

Seeing the astronomical figures on the lawyer’s letter, Blake Leaf trembled, his eyes widening, ”No way! On what grounds?! This is your mistake, why should I also be held liable?!”

Thinking of that incident made Summer Spencer feel sick to her stomach. If it weren’t for Lawrence Winters turning the tables, she would have succeeded long ago and wouldn’t have to let the opportunity slip away...

With a stern face, she said displeasingly, ”What kind of talk is this? We’re husband and wife, we can’t just share the wealth and not the hardship, right? Are you signing it or not? If you don’t, you’ll face the consequences!”

Blake Leaf didn’t expect that having just escaped his sister and brother-in-law’s exploitation and threats, he was now facing pressure from Spencer Group.

And comparatively, Spencer Group was even more terrifying.

He didn’t even have the courage to face his sister and brother-in-law directly, let alone confront Spencer Group head-on.

After a moment of silence, he signed quietly, saying, ”So when can we get it back? What’s the term of the mortgage?”

Summer Spencer didn’t answer, just sneered, thinking, a mortgage and you’re still thinking about a term? Once it gets into those old foxes’ hands, how could it ever come back?—How naive!

...

Ever since the land behind the villa complex was confirmed as a national first-class protected area, Lawrence Winters had become increasingly busy.

She and Kenneth Osborne used the land of the villa complex as collateral, with Kenneth Osborne’s company guaranteeing it, and took a loan of ten billion from the bank.

Five billion was paid back to Ouyang, clearing the debt, and Ouyang no longer had any hope for that piece of land.

With another five billion in cash, she and Kenneth Osborne had to plan well to get the houses built.

Some things seem simple; over the years, high-rise buildings shoot up one after another, completed in just a few months, it seems not that difficult.

But it was not until constructing the villa complex that she understood what it meant to ”watch someone bear a load without feeling the weight, yet struggling at every step when bearing it herself.”

After careful consideration, Lawrence Winters still believed that professionals should handle professional matters. Neither she nor Kenneth Osborne were building professionals, so they needed to find a reliable construction company to take over the project and manage everything, while they only needed to handle the finances.

Brooke Osborne returned to the Capital City neighborhood with her family and Cameron Spencer and soon increased her interactions with Lawrence Winters.

Hearing Lawrence Winters was searching for a construction company to take over, she strongly recommended her and Winter’s company.

”Lawrence, I’m not just peddling my own wares here. The construction company we own has done numerous villa projects. Look at these, they’re the results of their past work. I’m not exaggerating; there are fewer than five companies domestically with such experience.” Brooke Osborne laid out the promotional materials for that company.

”Even if they were to bid, you wouldn’t find a better company than them.”

If you asked Lawrence Winters, she wouldn’t want to get involved with the Spencer family at all.

She had just been set up by Summer Spencer, wasn’t the lesson enough?

But Brooke Osborne was different; she was Kenneth Osborne’s elder sister and had been good to her since childhood, making her a bit soft-hearted.

Lawrence Winters thought for a moment and asked, ”Is that company under your name? Does it have any relation to Spencer Group?”

”Winter and I own one hundred percent of the shares.” Brooke Osborne said with a smile, ”Rest assured, it’s a company wholly owned by me and Winter.”
