Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1012: The Price for Knowledge

Jacob left the Nightmare Realm and opened his eyes in the Infinite Space. With a hint of determination, he grabbed something from his pendant’s storage space.

A palm-sized, ethereal pearl blue sphere appeared on Jacob’s palm, which was pulsing like a heart. The moment it appeared, Jacob’s palm started to tremble.

”%*&#@...”

Incomprehensible static noises suddenly sounded, completely gibberish in Jacob’s ears, making his eyes flicker.

’Is this some kind of unique language of the SNIM race? But it was speaking just fine. Why use this language now? Or does it want to send some kind of single?’

Jacob merely scoffed when he thought about the possibility of sending singles. Even if its master was here, they wouldn’t be able to do it, much less as a mere puppet.

”Since I’ve already gotten a big haul this time, and I can get even bigger as long as I subdue you, I’ll make an investment...”

With a decisive glimmer in his eyes, he made a wish!

_____

Wish: I wish to rewrite the ownership of the Spirit Natural Intelligence Mechanic Race’s Spirit Core in my hand and become its new master. But everything it has already learned, its entire database, knowledge, skills, and everything else, should remain intact!

Cost: 100% Infinity Blood... or 10,000,000 Years of Lifespan!

_____

The moment Jacob saw the cost of this wish, his eyes trembled as he wasn’t expecting it to be so high. After all, this was just a Legendary King Rank lifeform, and since he had already captured it, the cost should’ve been less.

However, considering the usefulness of this spirit core and its intact knowledge and skills, Jacob knew this cost shouldn’t be unreasonable. After all, if he wanted, he could’ve simply erased everything, making the spirit core like a newborn without anything, which should’ve dropped its cost considerably.

However, Jacob knows close to nothing about raising a SNIM Race member. Not to mention that this Spirit Core was part of Anarchy’s Machina Unit, which means it was personally raised by Anarchy. Its skills should be terrifying and could rival SAAI and Undying Will’s Machina Units in the legendary plains.

After all, this Spirit Core has been the main core of the Timeless City for a very long time, and its knowledge and skills were something worth far more than anything in the Timeless City, and Jacob wants exactly them.

But he also needed to pay the cost, or without it, just as Nyx said, they wouldn’t be able to use it and might even end up destroying it since they knew nothing about SNIM Race.

After hesitating for a while, Jacob finally clinched his teeth and ordered with full unwillingness, ”Carry through!”

_____

-Lifespan: 4,010,500 Years (All Youthful)

_____

His lifespan instantly decreased by a full ten million years, and he almost felt pain in his soul. This was the highest transition he had made through the Infinity Blood Sacrifice, at least while he was sane.

One had to know that he almost wiped out the entire Timeless City to collect over 13 million years of lifespan, yet with one wish, he used nearly all of it.

But at this moment, Jacob’s attention suddenly shifted to the spirit core in his hand. The spirit core abruptly stopped trembling and making those static noises as a mystical power suddenly enveloped it.

Thereafter, unknown glyphs shimmered on the spirit core’s surface like strings of stars. At this moment, the kaleidoscope infinity symbol suddenly surfaced on Jacob’s skull, before the projection of his soul totem formed behind his back like a majestic galaxy.

Jacob was astounded because he wasn’t the one doing this. Instead, the mysterious power of the Cursed Immortality originated from the wish that was guiding everything.

At this moment, Jacob instantly senses the profound changes taking place, ’This is an opportunity!’

Without hesitation, Jacob forgot about the ten million years of lifespan and fully focused on the mystical power guidance.

At this moment, the infinity symbol on his skull suddenly flickered. On the spirit core, a reflection of the kaleidoscopic infinity symbol appeared right in the middle of those unknown glyphs.

’It’s my soul totem sigil! And it’s being imprinted on the Spirit Core just like on magic treasures and soul artifacts. However, this method is completely different than the common method of the Zodiac Plains. It’s far more sophisticated, not only that, but the soul totem sigil is being imprinted on a living being.

’I can feel that it’s not like the Sigil Marker soul technique that Legendary Kings can use to leave behind their Totem Sigil within someone’s soul to mark them, but it’s far more profound.

’The Sigil Marker Technique can only mark the surface of a soul, yet what is happening now is like weaving the totem sigil right into the core of the soul, almost like integrating! Doesn’t this mean this mark can’t be removed unless someone can tear apart that part of the soul!?’

Jacob was floored before ecstasy flared in his eyes, and he activated his eyes of judgment completely. He knew this was a chance bought by 10 million years of his lifespan, and he was determined to learn this imprinting technique.

Moreover, Jacob felt that this soul technique might be unique to him because right now, the entire Cursed Totem Skeleton was active with his Soul Force. This method alone was worth many years of training and research.

Jacob was learning a more profound truth about his Cursed Totem Skeleton at this moment than he might be able to learn in hundreds of years. That’s why he called this an opportunity.

While Jacob was engrossed in the technique, the Spirit Core was changing. Its pearl blue color started to deepen, and it became darker before turning pitch black, as the infinity symbol took root in the spirit core’s very being.

At this moment, a profound connection was established between Jacob and Spirit Core, and to Jacob’s surprise, this connection wasn’t inferior to Nyx and Autarch’s connection with him.

Not only that, but the moment the connection was established, foreign information started to imprint in his mind, startling Jacob!
