Cursed Immortality

Chapter 1003: Jinx Core Evolved!

Within the Infinite Space, Jacob appeared within his lab.

Eight figures of the Noble Assassins lay lifeless without movement, as if they were dead. It was clear that the Infinite Space had cut off their connection with whatever controlled them.

However, Jacob didn’t pay them any attention yet as he looked towards four figures. They were dry as corpses, but faint signs of life were still there. They were precisely Constant Baron-101, 9, 5, and 1!

Jacob never killed them with his Life Bane Wheel. Instead, he aborted their life before stopping just when they were on the verge of death, before teleporting them into the infinity pendant.

Since they were on the verge of death, it was very easy to stow them away. This gave the others a false impression that he had killed them without leaving any traces behind. In truth, it was a powerful deception. Now, he can easily absorb their complete hourglasses and claim their treasures without any scrutiny.

First, Jacob moved towards the Serpent King. Without hesitation, he raised his hand, and the listless body of the Serpent King flew into his grip.

The next moment, his palm was covered in a kaleidoscopic radiance, the Serpent King’s skull was cracked open, and a radiant soul totem landed in Jacob’s hand! The Serpent King died without even making a sound.

Suddenly, from within the soul totem, a glowing hourglass with golden bronze frames surfaced, and Jacob’s cursed heart instantly reacted and pulled it within Jacob’s body.

A dense mystical power coursed through Jacob’s body as he felt a euphoric warm sensation. Stowing away the soul totem, Jacob moved towards the Constant Baron-9 and 5, and pulled them both within his grip.

Just like the Serpent King, he ripped out their soul totem, killing them without any hesitation. Constant Baron-9 was actually a witch, while Constant Baron-5 was a high orc.

The same scene repeated itself as two new golden bronze hourglasses surfaced, and his cursed heart greedily absorbed them.

However, something magical happened at this moment. The pitch-black Jinx Core started to churn as a mysterious power wrapped itself around it. Its size suddenly started to grow, and mystical crimson glyphs surfaced on its surface. It has started to evolve into Legendary Noble Rank!

According to Immortika, Jacob now required a 9 Constant Barons hourglass to evolve all the way to the Legendary King State. Which means he needed three said hourglasses for each state evolution.

As his Jinx Core evolved, he could feel the curse power was becoming more profound, and he almost felt like grasping something.

’A law...’ Jacob was astounded, but that feeling instantly slipped away as the Jinx Core completed its evolution, making Jacob feel somewhat regretful. But he wasn’t worried since he knew he would comprehend it eventually.

Nevertheless, at this moment, new information of a new ability, a new Jinx, appeared in his mind. Furthermore, his hexes can now be used on Legendary Lords. Furthermore, his lifespan has increased by 75,000 years!

Although Jacob has yet to use Jinx on others, he knows they aren’t weak. As he slowly absorbed all the information and consolidated his breakthrough, time passed.

After an unknown period, Jacob finally absorbed everything before he shifted his focus to Constant Baron-1. He pulled the latter’s body and wanted to rip out his law totem when suddenly, Jacob’s eyes flickered in shock.

”You don’t have a soul totem?” Jacob muttered as he looked at the wilted vampire. Only then did he notice that, like the Noble Assassins, there wasn’t any trace of movement except that he seemed different from them.

”A soul puppet?” The Eyes of Judge turned profound as he scanned the body carefully.

”He’s not a soul puppet but some kind of clone...” Jacob became extremely curious. He was already researching the profession of Vitality Architect, and that’s why he took those Noble Assassins without any hesitation, because he had a feeling that he might learn more about creating an artificial body.

Furthermore, he was also after the sources of this information, which were within the Timeless City, but he wasn’t ready to burn all the bridges yet. However, this Constant Baron-1 gave him an unexpected surprise and more material to research.

”Since this is just a clone, doesn’t this mean the real body is still alive? And if he can see everything through his clone like a soul puppet, he would also know what had transpired in that wasteland.

”Although I’m not concerned, it’ll still be troublesome if he reports this to that Constant Viscount and others in his cohort. And if that Timeless Hourglass gets involved as well...”

Jacob’s eyes flickered with killing intent before he summoned, ”Specimen-1.”

Alma’s haggard yet emotionless figure appeared before him as she greeted, ”Master.”

After so many ’training seasons’, the previous Soul Ghost King had completely given up any resistance, and the soul tether hex had already taken complete root within her very being.

Furthermore, the effect of his research was evident in Jacob’s Life Bane Wheel, and he has developed it further, and his ability has become more refined. Not only that, but he has also developed the Blood Reflection, all thanks to Alma’s ghost form.

Her usefulness was almost non-existent now, and since Jacob had already obtained more specimens, he decided to move on.

”You have helped me to a great degree. As I promised, from now on, your status as ’Specimen’ will be changed to Lab Assistant-1, effective immediately. Familiarize yourself with this equipment, and I want you to start analyzing these nine bodies.

”If you can complete this task, your status as a lab assistant will be permanent. But if you failed, I don’t need to tell you the consequences, right?” Jacob coldly stated.

Alma’s ghostly eyes suddenly ignited with faint vitality when she heard Jacob’s declaration. A hint of disbelief flashed past her eyes as she looked at him with a daze.

But Jacob was already gone before she could even comprehend what had happened because he needed to take care of a loose end. As for his soul puppet, it arrived in another location in infinite space!
